YNW Bortlen, born Cortlen Henry, was granted $75,000 bond and house arrest this week, leaving fans of incarcerated rapper YNW Melly hoping for his own imminent release. There are reports that a lack of evidence could point to the artist's release happening sooner rather than later but, according to an attorney for YNW Bortlen, that's simply not the case.
If you've been hoping for the prompt release of 21-year-old Melly, you shouldn't be getting your hopes up, according to attorney John M. Phillips.
After sharing legal documents that confirmed YNW Bortlen's bond, the lawyer sent a message to YNW Melly fans, telling them that they're not thinking straight if they think he's coming home soon.
"The Melly fans thinking he’s getting released are beyond delusional," tweeted Phillips. "He’s not getting released unless a jury says so and there is evidence he killed these young men in cold blood. Whether you like his music or not, these families deserve justice."
So, there you have it. Apparently, there wasn't sufficient evidence against YNW Bortlen but his friend YNW Melly did not get the same luck.
The rapper is currently facing the death penalty. He is set for trial later this year, where a jury will determine his fate.
Boosie Badazz Sued By State Of Georgia Over Daughter
When Boosie Badazz bragged that he got a grown woman to top off all of his 12-year-old sons and nephews, we worried that he may soon get a call from the state.
And he did. Although it involves his 11-year-old daughter.
The State of Georgia is suing Boosie on behalf of Gelisa Hayes, the mother of his daughter Lyric Beyonce.
Hayes and the state's Attorney General are alleging Boosie is not supporting young Lyric Beyonce and wants his wages to garnished to pay a "reasonable amount."
They add that if Boosie has doubts about Lyric Beyonce's paternity he should submit to a test.
Boosie was served papers and would have been required to come to court this week if not for COVID.

Boosie Badazz Breaks Down Why They Won’t Let YNW Melly Out For COVID
Quarantine has given Boosie Badazz even more time to talk to DJ Vlad. In his latest Vlad TV interview, he speaks on YNW Melly.
Melly, who is awaiting trial on double murder charges, has coronavirus. But they still aren't allowing him to bond out.
Boosie, who hooked Melly up with his attorney, explained why.
"When you silent, if you not working for them, if you silent, they will deteriorate your health. They will do anything. When I was in jail, I think they was f*cking with my medicine. They was messing with my insulin and everyday I had a sugar attack," Boosie claimed. "The silent the ones -- the people who stay real to theyself and not work with the police --they gon' have it hard in there bro. The rats, it's the time for them to get out and get more people locked up. The silent ones suffer."
Tekashi 6ix9ine, who's the most notorious (and proudest) rat in the rap game was released early for COVID even though he didn't even have the virus.
Melly's lawyers claim he is at death's door. The prison has been treating him with Gatorade and Tylenol and has not allowed him to go to the infirmary.
Kodak Black’s Lawyer Updates Case With Good News
Kodak Black’s case in New York has been resolved, but his attorney is frustrated about the rapper’s situation.
Kodak Black has been sharing personal updates on his well being for months as he serves the remainder of his sentence in prison on a firearms charge. The star has been transferred to a New York-area correctional facility where he is expected to stay until the COVID-19 pandemic ends, but he has received some good news about his outstanding case.
In a new legal update by his attorney Bradford Cohen, it was announced that Kodak Black’s case in NY has been resolved.
“Some good news and some frustration in regards to @kodakblack. The case in New York is resolved. I was not his attorney on that case. Although it should have been completely dismissed, as it was for the other 2 individuals in the same car, who testified that @kodakblack knew nothing about the firearm in the vehicle, and it was registered and legal to one of the other individuals he was with, they agreed to 12 month to run concurrent with his current sentence,” wrote Cohen on Instagram.
Johnny Louis/FilmMagic/Getty Images“Even the Judge asked the prosecutor why are they not dismissing. @kodakblack just wanted to resolve it so he doesn’t lose anytime in federal. You see when you are out of federal custody you lose that time on your federal case.”
As for the Florida native’s remaining time in prison, his attorney is urging the Bureau of Prisons to address the growing issue that COVID-19 is posing in correctional facilities.
Although this is fairly good news for Kodak Black, the fact that he’s still locked up isn’t sitting right with any of his fans.

Dame Dash On Attorney Chris Brown: "If He Wore Proper Clothing He’d Be More Productive"
Dame Dash ain’t letting up no time soon.
Dame Dash is currently in the midst of three separate legal disputes all involving one lawyer who goes by the name of Christopher Brown. Once again, no, this is particular Chris Brown is not the world-renowned R&B/Pop sensation responsible for creating and selling millions of records, but a lowly attorney on the opposing end of Roc-a-Fella co-founder, Damon Dash, in multiple court cases.

Recently, Dame Dash revealed that he was livid with the lawyer’s choice of clothing and his apparent halitosis problem. Now, the studio owner and businessman is back at it again taking shots at the attorney that continues to gun for him on the legal front. This past Wednesday (Jan. 29), Page Six ran into Dash at the Canary Club in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, as he was overhead continuing his onslaught of cracks aimed at Chris Brown stating:
“This dude’s day could be more productive if he used breath mints and wore proper clothing.”
Honestly, this charged opinion isn’t exactly bad advice regardless of who is on the receiving end of it. When you look good, you feel good, thus you perform better in any type of environment that requires attentiveness and precision.
Currently, Chris Brown is representing photographer, Monique Bunn, who has opened up a sexual assault case against Dame claiming he inappropriately groped her. Bunn is currently seeking a default judgment that would reward her with a total of $50 million in Dash’s assets. The producer turned entrepreneur claims that Chris Brown and his clients are attempting to extort him using fraudulent lawsuits as catalysts to line their pockets.
During a recent interview with the Breakfast Club, Dame Dash revealed that one of his biggest regrets during his and Roc-a-Fella’s rise to prominence was his treatment of women. These days, the 48-year-old is producing 24-hours worth of continuous television content and supporting his wife, Rocky Horn.
Check out a clip of Dame Dash’s Charlotte-based DTV 24-hour television programming in the video provided below.
Dame Dash Still Livid With Attorney Chris Brown & His Breath: "I Wanna Give Him Peppermints"
Dame Dash's shots at attorney, Chris Brown, get funnier and funnier.
Dame Dash's resurgence to the forefront of the culture has been filled with highlights and unfortunate mishaps. The producer and multi-business owner recently got the opportunity to sit down with one of the greatest boxers of all-time in Mike Tyson on his podcast, Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson, and recently rekindled his alliance with The Breakfast Club. However, the Dame Dash Studios-owner has run into conflict with WeTV and sexual assault charges spearheaded by an attorney by the name of Chris Brown (not the 30-year-old R&B sensation).
View this post on InstagramChris Brown is the attorney currently representing three different clients that are targeting Dame Dash on various allegations. Later this week, the Roc-a-Fella co-founder will have to appear in court in regards to a case involving copyrights to the film, Mafietta, Dash produced, and Chris Brown will be representing Dash's opposition.
Page Six, ran into Dame Dash on multiple occasions including a birthday party for DuJour’s Jason Binn at the Cipriani Wall Street where Dusko Poppington decided to take multiple shots at the attorney stating:
"This is Chris Brown’s third case against me in less than 12 months." Dash then continued taking jabs at Chris Brown's halitosis, "(I'd like to) do something about (Brown’s) breath... give him a bowl of peppermints."
The clothing company entrepreneur also took shots at Brown's fresh saying:
"Every time he files a lawsuit, his suits get worse. I’m so uninspired by his energy and his outfits. The lack of taste to be in court for something this minor and then have to look at this type of s–t is disgusting to me. He should have the proper respect to dress when I am in the room. If you’re going to try and rob me, just do it fly."
Dame Dash claims he's being unethically harassed by Chris Brown and his clients. Stick with HNHH as the Dame Dash vs. Chris Brown saga unfolds and check out a clip from Dame Dash's mental health reality show, Healing is Gangsta below.

“Killer Inside: The Mind Of Aaron Hernandez” reportedly blindsided the family of Odin Lloyd.
Like most things that happen in a content-driven age in media, the story of Aaron Hernandez’s rise and fall was bound to be subject to a Netflix documentary. Killer Inside: The Mind Of Aaron Hernandez documents the former football star’s murder case up until his suicide. CTE and his sexuality were two topics that were heavily explored in the documentary in relation to Aaron’s murder case.
The family of Aaron’s victim, Odin Lloyd, are not happy about the Netflix docuseries. Although it isn’t shocking, the producers reportedly didn’t take into consideration the victim’s family when they went forward with the project. Lloyd’s family said that they’re having to relive memories of his death and the trial after they’ve tried to get over it since Aaron’s conviction. With the newfound attention on them, once again, they said that that people are going to desperate lengths to get in contact with them. A few people even messaging their family members in defense of Hernandez.
What’s worse about this is apparently, not only did they not want to be included in the doc, they never signed off to be included in the film. They’ve continuously declined offers for specials on Aaron in the past and weren’t interested in involving themselves in one now. However, old footage of the family was included in the documentary which they said makes it seem like they were involved. Old photos of Odin was also used in the doc without their consent, they said.
Speaking to E! News, the lawyer for Odin Lloyd’s family said that he’s yet to hear any complaints from the family about this. “I continue to love and care for this family. They are wonderful people. We are proud to represent them in anything they need,” he said.
But as previously pointed out by TMZ, the family doesn’t have any intention of taking the film’s producers to court.
Watch DaBaby Assault Hotel Worker
Things continue to get worse and worse for DaBaby.
The North Carolina rapper is already facing legal issues for assaulting a man and pouring apple juice on him, and almost faced more charges for assaulting an airport food vendor.
Now, there is new footage showing him putting hands on a hotel employee in Beverly Hills on December 19, 2019.
According to TMZ, the guy in the video below is a hotel employee who followed DaBaby outside the lobby to get a picture with the rapper.
DaBaby turned him down, so he walked back in the lobby, but DaBaby followed with two other men.
That is when you see DaBaby throw him against the wall and "sit" him down in a chair. He begins to scold him, putting his finger in his face.
DaBaby and crew left the hotel without the cops being called, and his attorney had this to say about the incident.
"Any actions taken by DaBaby were likely in self-defense based upon his recall of the events and until the video is thoroughly reviewed we have no further comment at this time."
Update: DaBaby weighs in:
View this post on Instagram50 Cent’s "Son" Is Being Bullied At School; Mom Is Suing for Millions
In 2016, 50 Cent met a boy named Dan Fraser and immediately took a shine to him.
He started to refer to Dan as his "son" on Instagram. It appeared he was doing this to taunt his estranged biological son Marquise. It apparently had negative effects on Dan as well. According to the boy's mom, bullies have targetted Dan at his Brooklyn charter school because of the 14-year old's ties to Fif.
“It caused a big uproar in the school," Dan’s mom, Myasia Dickerson, said. "The kids started to follow my son around, tried to put him on Snapchat, tried to take videos of him. They were following him to the train station."
Dickerson says things got really bad last month, and he was viciously attacked in the school stairwell.
"He was attacked from behind as he tried to walk away. He was punched in the head and then the student proceeded to fight him and then he slammed my son’s head onto the ground.”
The boy's mom said he tried to take refuge in a classroom before the assault but was turned away because he wasn't in the class and it was in session.
Now she's suing the Department of Education for $5.5 million in damages.
“Parents have the right to expect a safe environment when they send their child to school," said the family’s attorney, Sanford Rubenstein. “When school personnel fail to provide that, especially when they are on notice of a problem, the school is liable to that child for damages.”
50 hasn't commented. But we think he'd be proud of the lawsuit.
Here's video of Fif teaching Dan to box:
