Michael Jordan is one of the most successful athletes of all-time and will forever be known as one of the greatest players to ever do it. He is also insanely rich as his net worth is over $2 billion. When you have that much money, you are able to pick and choose whichever endorsements you believe are worth your time. Thanks to MJ's profile, he is constantly being hit up with huge opportunities although he doesn't always accept them.
Earlier this week, we reported on how MJ once turned down a $100 million deal even though it only required about two hours of his time. Now, Jordan's son Marcus is weighing in on this matter, noting that the company should have reached out to him as he would have had a lot more leverage with his father.
In typical Twitter fashion, the trolls entered Marcus' comments section and told him that his father still wouldn't have come through, most notably because he still buys Jordans off of the Nike SNKRS App. As hilarious as that is, you can't help but agree with the point Marcus is making. I mean, after all, you would think MJ would come through for his son, especially if $100 million was involved.
Regardless, it looks like we'll truly never know.

ESPN reports that the league prefers to wait until fans will be able to purchase tickets to as many games as possible before beginning the 2020-21 season.
"If you start in December, that doesn't mean the people are coming back in December, but maybe they're back by March," one member of the board of governors tells ESPN.
The future of the 2020-21 season relies heavily on if and when the current NBA season returns. Rumors regarding the all-together cancelation of the season provoked a response from Lakers' Star Lebron James on Twitter, this week: "Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true. Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything."
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver spoke with reporters regarding the return of the season, last month: "I think there is still too much uncertainty at this point to say precisely how we move forward. I'll add that the underlying principle remains the health and well-being of NBA players and everyone involved. We begin with that as paramount."
Discussions regarding the 2019-20 and 2020-21 season will continue.

D-Wade & Aaron Gordon Patch Things Up Over Dunk Contest
Aaron Gordon and Dwyane Wade made peace over the controversial 2020 NBA Dunk Contest.
Aaron Gordon had a lot of frustration built up towards Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade following the 2020 NBA Dunk Contest. Of course, many people thought Gordon should have won, especially since he dunked over Tacko Fall who is 7'6." In the end, Gordon lost out to Derrick Jones Jr. who just so happens to play for Wade's old team. Gordon was so upset about his dunk contest loss that he even wrote a diss track about Wade called "9 OUT OF 10."
Recently, Gordon and Wade decided to talk things out on Instagram Live, where they had an in-depth discussion about everything that went down during the contest. As Wade explains, Gordon had the best overall score but since the dunk contest winner was based on who had the best final round, Wade had to give the better score to Jones Jr. In fact, Wade admits he wasn't trying to make Gordon lose that round and simply wanted to judge that dunk on its own.
Gordon eventually came around to Wade's explanation while also acknowledging that Derrick Jones Jr. was very impressive in the competition. All in all, it seems like there is no real bad blood between these two and finally, we have some closure to this very strenuous saga.
Florida basketball fans can finally be at peace with each other.
Victor Oladipo Reportedly Received Insulting Offer From Pacers
Victor Oladipo and the Indiana Pacers are in for some interesting negotiations.
Victor Oladipo was cementing himself as a bonafide star in the NBA until a brutal knee injury kept him out of the Indiana Pacers lineup for close to a year. As it stands, Oladipo has one year left on his deal following this season and it remains to be seen whether or not the Pacers are going to be able to keep him. Oladipo is currently signed to a 4-year deal worth $84 million and based on his play, you would think his next contract would be worth a lot more.
Well, according to Ian Begley of SNY, this is not the case. As he reports, prior to the start of this season, Oladipo was offered a 4-year deal worth just $80 million, which would be a pay cut. It is rumored that Oladipo was insulted by this offer and immediately turned it down.

Considering Oladipo’s injury and the uncertainty surrounding it, there is no surprise that the Pacers would come through with such a lowball offer. They have numerous large contracts on the roster right now and they need to do everything in their power to keep the costs down for the coming seasons.
However, if Oladipo and the Pacers can’t find a solution, then there is a chance he could land elsewhere for the 2021-2022 season.

"The Last Dance" Was Rushed Due To COVID-19, Still Not Finished
Michael Jordan's "The Last Dance" has a production schedule that could get a documentary of its own.
Michael Jordan's ESPN documentary "The Last Dance" has been an incredible piece of entertainment that has gotten us through the COVID-19-imposed quarantine. Sports fans needed something in their lives and this docuseries has been the true missing piece in all of our lives. Having said that, fans are excited to watch episodes 5 and 6, this upcoming Sunday.
According to Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times, the production schedule for "The Last Dance" has been grueling, to say the least. Essentially, the doc was supposed to premiere on June 2nd before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, ESPN decided to ramp up production so they could be good to go as of April 19th. In fact, episode 9 of the series was only finished yesterday.
What makes this even more insane is the fact that the final interview with John Stockton was only filmed on March 10th. Not to mention, editors have been completing the documentary from their apartments and have even been uploading clips to Vimeo, while commuting Zoom.
Needless to say, "The Last Dance" has been subjected to a massive time crunch that could someday be the subject of a documentary of its own.
LaVar Ball Reacts To His Sons Signing With Jay-z’s Roc Nation
LaVar Ball and his sons just leveled up with a Roc Nation Sports deal.
Perhaps one of the biggest sports stories of the week was when it was revealed that Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball would be signing representation deals with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports. Essentially, the Ball family will have some exception representation moving forward and the possibilities for them are endless. New opportunities have certainly opened up and with this move, LaVar is inching towards his wish of having his boys completely dominate the basketball landscape.
Ball was recently interviewed on TMZ about the accomplishments of his sons and he couldn’t be prouder. Ball also explained why the boys signed with Roc Nation and what he hopes to see in the future.
“If everything goes right, this thing can be explosive,” Ball said. “They said something I liked which is ‘Lavar, we wanna change the game. We wanna do something special.’ Now, that terminology right there means I’m supposed to be with you guys. Because my boys are special and like I said, I wanna change so it’s all good.”
This move can be considered as perfect timing for the Ball family as LaMelo is set to be a top 5 pick at the NBA Entry Draft in June. LaMelo stands to make a whole lot of money and Roc Nation will surely help him reach all of his financial goals.
As for the rest of the family, they seem to be set up quite nicely and LaVar couldn’t be happier.

Magic Johnson Confirms Both He & Kobe Bryant Will Receive Docs Like "The Last Dance"
Magic Johnson revealed that a documentary about him and Kobe Bryant, much like “The Last Dance,” is on the way.
Sports fans can’t stop talking about ESPN’s Chicago Bulls documentary The Last Dance. Viewers have been taking a trip down memory lane as they relive the last season Michael Jordan played for the Midwest team, causing other sports stars who witnessed those experiences live and in color to reminisce about those glory days. Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight about The Last Dance and during the conversation he was asked about Kobe Bryant. According to the NBA icon, there will “definitely” be a documentary about Kobe that follows along the same line as ESPN’s recent offering.

“That’s definitely going to happen,” Magic Johnson said. “I think he was smart enough to have a camera follow him, document every movement… so we are going to see a lot of behind-the-scenes things on Kobe and probably let us into his world with his family.” Following Bryant’s documentary will come one about Magic, himself.
“I’m coming after Kobe!” Magic said, also noting that his film will highlight his work on the court, his business career, and his home life. “You get the basketball part of it, but then also how I reinvented myself and how I went into business and what I’m doing today, so it will all come into this documentary. I’m looking forward to it.”
NBA Players Reportedly Sneaking Into Closed Gyms To Practice
NBA players appear to be quite desperate to get back onto the court.
Being an athlete has been fairly hard over the last month and a half as every single sport in the world has been shut down due to the Coronavirus. The NBA and NHL were arguably the hardest hit by this pandemic as they were just about to reach their postseasons. NBA fans have been begging for some fresh games to watch and the league is currently hard at work to make sure they have a safe way of continuing the season.
NBA players haven't been allowed to go to private gyms to workout and instead, have been told to stay home. According to a report from The Athletic, some players have been sneaking into gyms in secret, so that they can get their necessary workouts in. Clearly, the players are doing everything possible to avoid going stir crazy.
Per The Athletic:
"As of now, no player is allowed into his team's facility or some other gym to work out. Development staffers are not supposed to be working with the players. If a player has a private gym at home, great. Many have said they do not. Others, according to multiple sources, are practicing secretly on their own at gyms that are supposed to be closed."
The NBA has stated that teams will be allowed to return to their gyms as of May 8th although this could be an issue for teams whose states are still closed. Needless to say, it's a slow burn before the league gets up and running again.
NBA Pushes Back Two More Major Events On Its Schedule
The NBA continues to delay events due to the Coronavirus.
Back on March 11th, the NBA was forced to shut down as one of its players contracted the Coronavirus. Since then, multiple players have been diagnosed positive with COVID-19 and the NBA is looking for ways to come back without putting the players at risk. New information surrounding the virus continues to come out every single day and sports fans are worried that the entire season could be canceled. Regardless, the NBA seems eager to find a solution, and today, the league announced the postponement of two more events.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA is now postponing the NBA Draft Lottery and the NBA Draft combine. Both of these events were set to take place this month in Chicago but now, it is impossible for it to go down.
Of course, in order for the lottery to happen, you need to know how the teams lineup in the standings. Since there are still games to be played, the current standings aren't an accurate representation of how things will end up. More importantly, a draft lottery or combine wouldn't be conducive to social distancing which is still very much needed.
It remains to be seen when these events will take place so stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to bring them to you.
