Cozz and Reason are no strangers. The pair of rappers are members of two of the most respected rap imprints in the game right now, with Dreamville Records home to the former, and TDE housing the latter. They've collaborated before too, with their stand-out "Lambo Truck" off the Dreamville crew compilation receiving a visual treatment. It appears these two have more music in the works together, though.
Riffing on Twitter, the highly underrated emcee Cozz revealed to fans that he and Reason have a joint album they're working on together. "Man this project between me and reason gon be something special. Just wait on it," Cozz shared. When a salty fan replied with a strategy of his own, Cozz was having none of it.
"Idk...... i feel like yall should take the cole and kendrick route. Just build your greatness to the point where u don't need another artist. I still haven't listened to a full ep/lp by u bro," the user wrote in response. Cozz shot him down: "Doing music w somebody doesn’t mean u need them lol."
Reason, for his part, hasn't made mention of this joint effort just yet, but we'll be keeping tabs. This news, though, does come on the heels of another semi-announcement from the Dreamville/TDE camps-- that the long-awaited J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar joint project may not be entirely dead yet. There's still hope.
Let us know if you're excited for the music. Check out Cozz's tweet below.
Dreamville Dominates The Grammys Red Carpet In Style
Revenge of the Dreamers.
Though their reputation might not suggest it, Dreamville can flex with the best of them. Lest we forget that time EarthGang convinced J. Cole to join them for a debaucherous evening at the strip club, making it rain torrential downpours in the process. Since then, they've only become bolder in their flexing efforts, as evidenced by the squad's latest appearance at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

Joined by Guapdad 4000 and his ten-foot durag, the Ville was represented in dapper fashion by J.I.D, Johnny "Olu" Venus and Doctur "Wowgr8" Dot of EarthGang, Cozz, and Ibrahim H. The boys made sure to post up for a badass picture, each one looking dapper for the occasion. Special shout out to Venus, who came through hard with the androgynous drip.
At some point, the Spillage Village crew even connected with Atlanta's mayor Keisha Bottoms, a testament to their growing pull in their home state. Elsewhere, The Ville was also represented by Bas, who held it down alongside his own associates. Check out some of the pics below, and sound off -- is Dreamville destined for a major campaign in 2020?
Dreamville Reflects On Label’s Accomplishments In 2019 Recap Video
The year of the Dreamers.
2019 was certainly a standout year for J. Cole and the Dreamville imprint, kicking off with the frenzy that started in January of last year as artists and producers far and wide were issued the golden ticket to join Dreamville during the recording sessions for the Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation.
The year went on to catalyze the careers of Dreamville’s roster and in a new clip, the label reflects on just how far the team has come in a matter of one year.
In the video, fans are reminded that J. Cole’s “Middle Child” single arrived in the midst of hype for ROTD3, going on to become the first multi-Platinum single of the entire year. Other high points include the sold-out Dreamvillle Festival, Ari Lennox’s critically-acclaimed Shea Butter Baby album, and the No. 1 debut of ROTD3. It doesn’t forget to showcase the Mirrorland debut of Earthgang and the Spilled Milk four-pack that Bas delivered this summer.
Ultimately, the year ended with several RIAA certifications in tow, including a Gold plaque for Lennox’s Shea Butter Baby title track and ROTD3 standout “Down Bad.” Dreamville went on to earn three Grammy nominations for the compilation project while J. Cole received two solo nominations for the 2020 ceremony. Y’all had a year, indeed.
