Beautiful Monsters: Makes My Blood Dance’s Genre Rebellion “Time and a Place”

Brooklyn's musical mutineers, Makes My Blood Dance have returned to terrorize genre purists with their latest single "Time and a Place," which dropped just now. It's another middle finger to convention from the self-proclaimed "DiscoMetal" architects who refuse to color within the lines.

Recorded with producers Mikal Blue (OneRepublic) and Brett "Epic" Mazur (Crazy Town), the track is a disorienting cocktail of contradictions—screaming guitars and pulsing beats, vulnerability and aggression, all crashing together like colliding planets. It's messy, it's jarring, and that's precisely the point.

Lead vocalist EV0's lyrics cut deeper than their previous work: "How can I compete/There is no one left to ask now/When I'm down here on my knees." There's a raw desperation here that punches through the theatrical facade the band typically employs, revealing the bleeding human underneath all that makeup and swagger.

Their accompanying video continues their tradition of visual excess—described as a "Dancing with the Stars meets Burning Man" fever dream. As 360 Magazine aptly put it, this is "Saturday Night Fever meets Guitar Hero 2099," and the description couldn't be more perfect for their chaotic aesthetic.

The single precedes their upcoming nine-track album Z3r02LGHTSp33D, with the band hitting the road March 20th in West Palm Beach before tearing through Florida and Texas alongside nu-metal survivors like Josey Scott (Saliva) and Hed PE.

Makes My Blood Dance exists in the uncomfortable spaces between established sounds, creating something that simultaneously feels familiar and alien. It's this willingness to embrace contradiction that makes them one of the most genuinely interesting acts in today's alternative landscape—where true experimentation has become increasingly rare.

[PREMIERE] Sullivan King Drops Hotly Anticipated Remix Of Kayzo "Alone"

Sullivan King and Kayzo have a bunch of material together due out in 2020, including a joint remix of “Helena” by My Chemical Romance. But the first to drop is a Sully remix of “Alone” featuring Our Last Night, from Kayzo’s latest album.


“Alone” was the lead single off Unleashed when Kayzo first announced it in 2019, so it holds a bit of a special place on the album. (Not to mention it’s also the first song on the album.) So when Sullivan King got his hands on it, you can bet he treated it right.

The remix starts just as the original did, but the first drop goes a much heavier bass route than the more instrumental direction Kayzo took. It’s wild and brash, exactly what we’d expect when someone tells you “Sullivan King remixed Kayzo.” But, it’s the final drop that really brings the metal into the equation, with intense guitar, drums, and screams.

“I’ve known Hayden (Kayzo) for as long as I’ve been in music and having seen what he’s done for our style of music and how he’s helped bring it beyond the EDM vein and into a more mainstream light is so awesome. He and I both come from the same background of music and that’s why I’ve personally had such a connection with his music and sound. Your EDM Premiere: CARBIN & BRO SAFARI – R U READY [Never Say Die]

Carbin’s new EP on Never Say Die is due out this Friday, but before that, we’ve got the premiere of his epic single with Bro Safari, “R U READY.”


Setting “R U READY” from previous EP singles “THRONE” and “WHATCHYU GONNA DO,” the collab with Bro Safari has hints of grunge, trap, and house all rolled into one epic package. An opening that sounds like the beginning of an epic metal x trap hybrid gives way to a more pronounced trap drop. From there, the second drop brings the BPM up with an infectious house rhythm getting you to bounce and bob whether you mean to or not.
