A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is tired of hearing rappers who sound like him, as expressed on his Twitter, Saturday.
"Iight bet.?Keep on tryna sound like me without showing love and ima start to sue ya mf’s ??," he wrote. "Fr tho this shit is getting outta hand I’m not tryna knock nobody hustle I’m just getting sick of the craft ya bringing to the table?Making this shit boring."
The Bronx rapper is preparing to launch his next album, Artist 2.0, any day now. While no date has been confirmed, he recently shared the cover art on Twitter and apologized for the wait, writing "The expression of creative skill and imagination, producing work to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Album on the way! Sorry for the wait."
According to XXL, Artist 2.0 may be A Boogie's last project, at least for a while. The rapper explained on Instagram, "This might be my last project for a while. I wanna take a break from music after Artist 2.0 tour is over. There's a lot of things I want to do in life and it's just moving too fast for me to focus on everything at once. But I will never let my fans down. When you need me most, I'll be there."
As for whether he sticks to this plan, we'll have to wait and see.
Drake Spotted Filming Music Video In Jay-Z’s Old Brooklyn Neighbourhood
Drake headed to the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, New York where Jay-Z famously grew up, to film the music video for a new song.
We all know that before Drake was Drake, he was a little Canadian boy named Aubrey Graham who grew up in the Forest Hill neighbourhood of Toronto. Drake reps the 6 proudly and has never claimed to hail from elsewhere, but it looks like the 6God recently headed down to the BK to shoot his latest music video.

Drake was spotted filming some visuals in the Marcy Projects this week, a public housing complex in Brooklyn, New York, that one of hip-hop’s biggest legends used to call home. Jay-Z famously grew up in that exact neighbourhood, before he got his big break and became the billionaire we know today.
It appears that the music video Drake was seen shooting will be for a song he has yet to release. A snippet of the song can be heard in a brief clip of Drake leaning against a fence in front of the Marcy houses, wearing a blue Yankees bomber jacket and rapping silently into the camera. In the comments, users noted how obvious it is that Drake did not grow up in the hood, due to how uncomfortable he appears to be filming in that area.
Though there’s no certainty that this song in particular will be a part of the project, it has been heavily speculated that Drake and Future are in the midst of concocting a sequel to their infamous What A Time To Be Alive collaborative album. A month ago, the duo dropped the highly anticipated track, “Life Is Good”, and then leaked “Desires” last weekend. Whatever Drizzy is cooking up in these clips, we hope it has something to do with WATTBA2.
Watch Justin Bieber Perform "Yummy" On "SNL"
The crooner returns to “SNL.”
For the first time in seven years, Justin Bieber returned to grace the Saturday Night Live stage as musical guest. Naturally, Bieber took the opportunity to continue pushing his forthcoming Changes album, opting to perform his latest “Yummy” selection for the crowd gathered in Studio 8H.
The project will officially get here on February 14th and is set to feature Kehlani, Summer Walker, Quavo and more. The recent appreanceon the show not only marked another step toward the arrival of Changes, but also made for a redeeming moment for the singer. The last time he was on the show in 2013, Bieber was pulling double duty as both host and musical guest.
Notably, members of the SNL cast revealed that he was was one of the worst-behaved hosts to comealong.
“He just was in a bad place,” said actor and comedian Bill Hader in 2018. “Everybody’s usually on great behavior. Bieber is the only one in my experience […] He just seemed, like, exhausted or just at the end of a rope. I mean, he was just so huge.”
As of late, Bieber’s been focusing all his efforts on ensuring that all eyes are back onto his music. The NL stage isn’t a bad additon to such an equation.

Jennifer Lopez Responds To Criticism Over Super Bowl Halftime Performance
Jennifer Lopez defends her and Shakira's performance.
Following Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's Super Bowl halftime performance, Ohio preacher Dave Baubenmire issued a statement in which he threatened legal action against the NFL all over the pairing's appearance onstage. He would describe it as a "strip club performance" that contributed "to the delinquency of a minor."

His sentiments represented a percentage of viewers who found J-Lo and Shakira's performance to be suggestive and in contrast to the "family-friendly" nature of the Super Bowl. Now, a week removed from the memorable appearance, Lopez has responded to critics of her performance.
"I think that’s honestly silliness," Lopez tells Variety. "Both of us are really respectful performers who are moms and have kids and are very conscious of what we do. We (put on) a show that I believe was a celebration of women and our Latino culture that I think was really well reserved."
Notably, Jennifer was joined onstage with her daughter and a multicultural children's choir while the entire performance echoed the two singer's Latin roots.
"That small faction of people who want to be negative about it, I can’t even let in," Lopez added. "The message of standing up for yourself, being a women — that’s what I want to pass on to little girls — everything about you — be proud of it. I’m very proud of the performance that night."
Rihanna On The Wait For Her Album: "I Like To Antagonize My Fans"
Rihanna shares update on her album.
Rihanna is having fun with the delayed arrival of her ninth studio album. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight while at the launch event for her Fenty 2-20 Collection, RiRi once more opted not to deliver on much detail about the arrival of her new project. However, she did lightly discuss the reasoning behind the wait.

“Dot, dot, dot. To be continued,” she told the outlet when asked about the whereabouts of the project. “I like to antagonize my fans a little bit. Well, they antagonize me, too! So, they get it right back.”
The last time we got a full-length album from Rihanna was with 2016’s Anti project. Since then it’s been a slow and painful road toward its follow up. Within the past few months, the wait has transformed itself into a running joke with the Navy being left in an impatient flurry. The new effort was originally anticipated for a late 2019 release, but as Rihanna continues to tend to other ventures, there’s no telling just when the reggae output will arrive.
“It’s a lot of hard work and just being true to your brand,” she added in the same discussion. “I’ve always tried to stick with things that I enjoy doing and that I’m passionate about. Fashion, being creative, that’s one of those things — it doesn’t matter the outlet, I always enjoy it.”
Justin Bieber Donates $100,000 To Fan’s Mental Health Awareness Fund
Justin Bieber is putting his money where his mouth is following his “Intentions” video with Quavo by donating $100,000 to a fan’s mental health awareness fund.
Justin Bieber is maintaining the spirit of his music video for the Quavo-featured “Intentions” with his latest philanthropic move. In the visuals for the song, which dropped Friday, Justin and Quavo give back to those in need and highlight various hardships that plague the subjects of the video. This commitment to spreading awareness and doing good deeds was mirrored by Justin during a taping of MTV’s “Fresh Out Live” on Friday. After the music video premiered, Justin announced his donation of $100,000 to a local fan’s mental health awareness cause.
The fan in question, Stockton University student Julie Coker, became an advocate for the university’s chapter of the Active Minds organization, after getting diagnosed with depression herself. “I work for mental health now because of my own mental-health struggles in the past,” she revealed. “It’s important for us to talk about mental health because more than 50% of us will have a mental-health challenge in our lifetime.” She has helped screen about 5,000 students for depression, suicide risk, and eating disorders, and has participated in the #HugMore campaign.

Julie notes that Justin, who was the first artist she saw in concert at the age of 13, “has a big following, so if he has a good message about mental health, hopefully everybody else…will want to start thinking about mental health in a different way.” Justin has been open about his struggles with mental health in the past, even cancelling the remainder of his “Purpose” world tour in July 2017 due to depression and exhaustion. Along with his donation to Julie’s cause, Justin has partnered with Alexandria House, a transitional housing program that provides shelter and support for women and children in emergency situations. Justin and Quavo are shown saluting and supporting three women from Alexandria House in the “Intentions” video, and now Justin has set up an INTENTIONS fund of $200,000 to benefit the organization. The good deeds just keep on coming.
Nicki Minaj Reveals New Alter Ego On Upcoming Album
Nicki Minaj revealed that a new alter ego called "Queen Sleaze" will be introduced on her upcoming album.
Nicki Minaj is back in the spotlight after a brief hiatus, and her return has already brought a mountain of chaos. Following a vicious online spat with ex Meek Mill and a massive controversy over a Rosa Parks lyric in her then-unreleased promo single, "Yikes," Nicki has somehow fit a year's worth of drama into less than a week's time, but the Queen is choosing to focus on the music. After "Yikes" was met with major praise from ecstatic fans following its release on Friday, Nicki took to Twitter to interact with the Barbz, the name that her stans assigned themselves as a reference to one of her many alter egos, Barbie. Nicki told fans that she'll be introducing yet another alter ego on her upcoming album that will serve to set the tone for her new era: Queen Sleeze.
Nicki went on to describe Queen Sleeze, indicating that, "She’s more calm but way deadlier."
She also mentioned how her husband, Kenneth Petty, is "more afraid when I talk quiet then when I yell," and that that's "how he knows when I’m dead tf serious." While Barbie appears most often in her music, both lyrically and aesthetically, Nicki is known for her many alter egos including Roman Zolanski and Nicki Lewinsky. During the same Twitter Q&A session, Nicki revealed that her fans and label "bullied" her into releasing "Yikes" after she played a snippet on Instagram earlier this week. "Yikes" will not serve as the official first single off her upcoming album, then, since she never intended to release it so soon. "It's not my single, my single will be launched with a visual," Nicki told the audience at the Pollstar Live Conference on Wednesday. "This is a setup song with no video. Please don't kill me y'all. You guys asked me for that one." Fair enough, Mrs. Petty.

SiR Exudes Class In Emotional NPR Tiny Desk Concert
SiR dedicates the performance to his infant godson.
TDE‘s SiR has quickly become one of R&B’s leading men, bringing no shortage of Inglewood soul to his recent slew of releases. Now, the singer has linked up with NPR for a Tiny Desk Concert, the ideal platform to highlight his impressive vocal chops.
SiR – John Redcorn
Though he opts to skip the beautiful banger “Hair Down,” SiR spends some time with a few of his more soulful cuts. The fifteen-minute performance features stripped-down renditions of “The Recipe,” “New Sky,” “Wires In The Way” and “John Redcorn,” all of which stem from last year’s Chasing Summer. His emotive voice is captivating off the bat, sliding effortlessly into a vibrant falsetto; there’s a rawness to his tone, laid bare without processing to fall back on.
Fueled by love, SiR even brought his older brother and sister to handle the backup vocals. After making the introductions, SiR took a moment to dedicate the performance to his godson’s memory. “So December 31st 2019, I lost my godson,” he reveals. “He was fourteen months old. His name was Sir Harrsion. I want to say my condolences to his family and tell him I love him. We’re doing this today for him. I didn’t want to come to be honest, it took a lot for me to even be here.” Check out the full performance below, and show some love to the SiR in the comments.
Ari Lennox Writes Lengthy Apology For Bashing Gayle King & Oprah
Lennox vows to to stop using social media in favor of "true self love, healing, understanding and peace."
After Gayle King brought up Kobe Bryant's rape allegations during an interview with Lisa Leslie, a chorus erupted in opposition to the television host. While the world is mourning the loss of this basketball legend, many felt that it was inappropriate to rehash this stain on his legacy. King ended up being clumped together with Oprah, who also recently faced backlash for tearing down black men through her involvement in a documentary about rape allegations against Russell Simmons. Ari Lennox, who has made a habit of voicing her opinions on Instagram Live, went on rant about King and Oprah on Thursday (Feb. 6), calling them "some self-hating, pieces of sh*t f*ckasses." The tables ended up turning on the Dreamville songstress for siding with these men and she has now penned a lengthy apology to all those who were hurt by her words.
"I am sorry. I was acting like an ass," she started off the post shared on her Tumblr page. "I impulsively spiraled cause I was sick of seeing the distasteful shade especially at such a terrible and sad time towards someone I know is good person... I’m sorry for triggering people and I’m sorry if I caused any trauma. Im sorry for victim shaming, swear that wasn’t my intent."

Lennox has come to the conclusion that social media leads to her words being misconstrued, as they are not conducive to "healthy and productive conversations." For this reason, she has decided to leave social media. Her Twitter page has already been purged save for the tweet with the link to her apology. "I’m excited to leave social media for good," she wrote. "I’m excited for true self love, healing, understanding and peace. To all the people who checked me from a place of love, I love you forever and I hear you and I deeply empathize more than you’ll ever know. I would love to keep the conversation going in real life."
