LeBron James and Anthony Davis may have a significant age difference but their friendship knows no bounds. The two have been good friends ever since AD came into the league and over the last year or so, their relationship has expanded thanks to the fact that they are teammates. They always have each other's back and they also have some of the best chemistry in the league. Because of this, the Lakers are first place in the Western Conference with a record of 49-13.
Today, Davis is celebrating his 27th birthday. The superstar has accomplished quite a bit in just a short time in the league and is seen as, at least, a top 10 player. Since today was a special occasion, LeBron had to take full advantage. As you can see in the clip below, LeBron belts out a spirited rendition of "Happy Birthday" with lyrics specific to AD.
AD seemed pretty embarrassed by LeBron's singing and immediately flung a piece of fabric in LeBron's direction although the singing continued. LeBron has been on dad mode for a while now and we should have known this was coming considering all of the Taco Tuesday hysteria.
LeBron didn't show us what he got AD for his big day although we can imagine it was pretty awesome. If the two win an NBA title together, that would certainly be the ultimate gift.
Rudy Gobert Dismisses Coronavirus Protocol And Gets An "Illness"
Rudy Gobert really thought he was being funny.
Coronavirus has led to some pretty drastic measures in the NBA. For instance, the league is now doing press conferences with reporters standing far back from their mics and recorders. Today, there is going to be a meeting to discuss whether or not games will be played with fans in the crowd. Clearly, players are nervous about what's going to happen next although some don't care to play by the rules. One of those men is none other than Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz.
Just a couple of days ago, Gobert purposely touched a bunch of mics and recorders left at a podium by journalists. Gobert was essentially trying to show that the whole Coronavirus hysteria really isn't that big of a deal. Well, two days later, he was diagnosed with an "illness" and questionable for tonight's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Of course, it's very unlikely that Gobert actually has COVID-19. However, the timing of his illness certainly looks bizarre when paired with his stunt from just a couple of days ago. If you're Gobert, you've got to be kicking yourself for exhibiting such recklessness.
From this point forward, we're sure NBA players will think twice before trying to be smart. Coronavirus is now considered a pandemic and players are going to have to get serious if they want to protect themselves.
Trippie Redd Really Misses Juice WRLD
Trippie Redd shared a photo of himself and his late friend Juice WRLD on Instagram, and fans broke down in the comments.
It looks like Trippie Redd was really missing his old friend, Juice WRLD, this week, as he posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram that had fans getting emotional in the comments. On Tuesday, Trippie shared the shot of him and his late buddy standing side-by-side. While the photo doesn’t show either of their faces, it’s immediately obvious who is featured in the shot just from the back of each of their heads. Trippie opted not to include a caption, letting the picture simply speak for itself.
Fans flooded the comments to pay their respects, many writing “RIP” and expressing how much they also miss Juice. It was no secret that Trippie, along with the hip-hop community as a whole, was deeply affected by Juice’s tragic passing. After the 21-year-old died from a drug-induced seizure back in December, Trippie declared that he was going to give up drugs for good. “We ain’t doin’ it no more,” he said on Instagram Live. “Period. If it ain’t weed, we ain’t doin’ it no more.” He went on to say that he would still rap about drugs, but that that was it. “I ain’t sippin’ no lean, I ain’t poppin’ no pills but Imma still talk about it in music,” he said. “Maybe.”
The same day that Juice passed, Trippie also posted an old screenshot of the two of them Facetiming each other. “I kinda hate life tbh I’m so sick and tired of this shit honestly…..” he wrote in the caption. While Juice WRLD may be gone forever, he lives on in his music. YNW Melly just announced that the remix of his song, “Suicidal,” will be dropping Friday, and will feature a posthumous verse from Juice.
Stephen A. Smith Offers Nuanced Take On Coronavirus
The NBA is thinking about taking some drastic measures against the virus.
Coronavirus has officially been named a pandemic by the World Health Organization and the world is scared about what this could mean going forward. The NBA is among the institutions who are trying to devise some plans in regards to what to do next. In fact, all 30 teams will have a phone call today to discuss whether or not the season should go on or if the games should be played without fans.
Today on ESPN's First Take, Stephen A. Smith spoke out about COVID-19 and the risk it is posing to the players. Smith took a nuanced approach with this news item, stating that as a fan, he's hurt but as a human being, he is worried about what the spread of the disease could mean, going forward.
"As a basketball fan I'm depressed. As a human being and as an American citizen, I'm getting to the point where I'm scared as hell," Smith said. Soon after making these comments, it was revealed that the Golden State Warriors would be playing against the Brooklyn Nets without any fans, due to a new municipal law.
Stay tuned for updates on what the NBA decides moving forward. This is a huge public health risk and it's clear that the NBA is taking this all very seriously.
Air Jordan 5 "Fire Red" Release Postponed: New Details
The "Fire Red" Air Jordan 5 is now reportedly scheduled to release in late April.
The "Fire Red" Air Jordan 5, one of the all-time classic sneakers, will be returning to retailers in very near future - but we'll have to wait a little longer than originally expected. Initial reports suggested that the Fire Red 5s would be available on March 28th, in celebration of the 30th anniversary that Michael Jordan dropped 69 points on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, sneaker source J23 App reports that the release date has now been pushed back until April 25th. This isn't the first time that a highly anticipated release has been postponed (See the "DMP" Air Jordan 6), and it looks like even more launch dates will be altered moving forward.
Nike still has not revealed the official images but the photos that have leaked online reveal that the iconic kicks will come dressed in that familiar smooth, white leather upper equipped with that puffy 3M reflective tongue, a black midsole and fire red detailing throughout, including the classic "Nike Air" on the heel. This particular colorway originally debuted in 1990 and last released in 2013, although the retro did not include Nike Air branding.
Rumors suggest that the 2020 version will also be available in sizes for the whole family. Men's sizes will reportedly retail for $200, with grade school, pre-school and toddler sizes priced at $140, $80 and $60, respectively.
Lil Wayne Recorded 53 Songs In One Night
Lil Wayne reveals that he got fifty-three songs back from his last studio session.
It’s an undisputed fact that Lil Wayne is one of the greatest rappers alive, outworking the majority of artists for decades. His mixtape run was indescribable and his albums have only cemented him as an obvious choice for the greatest of all time, battling other accomplished minds like Jay-Z, Tupac, and more. At the rate Wayne is moving, he’s still living inside the studio, recording countless records on a yearly basis. We can’t imagine how many songs he created during the lead-up to Funeral but, if you want an idea, just listen to what he’s got to say during a recent interview with MTV and Fresh Out.
When reporter Jamila Mustafa asked the rapper about his vault, which she said contained over eighty songs, Lil Wayne gave her a perplexed look before asserting that the numbers were all wrong.

“She said eighty songs in your vault… she said two-hundred,” laughed Lil Tunechi before explaining that, solely in his last studio session, he walked away with an astronomical number of hits. “I’ll put it like this. When you leave the studio and you ask, ‘can I get what I did tonight?,’ it comes back as files. My last files was 53. I did 53 songs that night.”
Clearly a workaholic, the Young Money businessman also explained that he originally wanted to get Nicki Minaj on The Masked Singer before appearing himself, also claiming that he wants to get some work done with Lizzo. Watch below.
YNW Melly Announces Juice WRLD "Suicidal" Remix
YNW Melly is releasing the remix to “Suicidal” with Juice WRLD on March 13, as he announced on Instagram.
When incarcerated Florida rapper YNW Melly shared a cryptic post on social media with this Friday’s date highlighted, speculation started to rise about what the recording artist had planned for his fans. Although he has not been acquitted of his double murder charges, it was widely believed by supporters of the 20-year-old that he would be getting out of jail this week. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case as Melly has just shared what’s actually going down on March 13.

Showing off the cover artwork for his upcoming musical release, YNW Melly told the world that he would be dropping the “Suicidal” remix in a number of days. The remix will feature a posthumous verse by Juice WRLD, serving as just the second instance we hear the late Chicago rapper on a new song. The artwork shows animated versions of both rappers, with Melly gripping a snake around his neck as if it were a noose.
“Suicidal” is one of the more popular songs from YNW Melly’s most recent body of work. Melly Vs. Melvin was released last year from behind bars.
At this point, the 20-year-old is still at risk of being sentenced to the death penalty for allegedly murdering two of his friends. We will keep you posted on any updates in his case.
Nike Air Max 90 "Alternate Duck Camo" Officially Unveiled: Photos
This sneaker is an alternative take on a recent Nike x Atmos collab.
Back in 2013, Nike and Atmos teamed up for a special edition of the Air Max 90. The colorway in question was called "Duck Camo" and immediately became a huge hit. For the uninitiated, the sneaker featured an orange toe box and cuff while the rest of the shoe was covered in camo. Now, Nike is bringing the sneaker back, just in time for Air Max Day on March 26th. The big difference here is that the shoe isn't an Atmos collab. Instead, it's an interpretation of the 2013 model.
What makes this particular version different is that the orange has been swapped out for an "infrared" aesthetic. This makes the shoe stand out just a bit more while the contrast between colors is completely revamped. The official images for these kicks were recently revealed and you can take a look at them, below.
For now, the release date is slated for March 26th although a price has yet to be determined. With this in mind, be sure to stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to bring them to you. In the interim, head to the comments section and let us know whether or not you plan on copping these.
Roddy Ricch’s "The Box" Goes 4X Platinum
The house that “EEE ERR” built adds another story as Roddy Ricch’s breakout “The Box” goes quadruple platinum.
At this point, calling Roddy Ricch a rising star would be an understatement. His cinematic single “The Box” is quickly becoming one of the year’s defining tracks, and it didn’t even have to resort to a gimmick or antics-driven publicity campaign. If you’ve been living beneath a rock and have yet to hear the song, the formula is refreshingly simple — melodic bars delivered over triumphant theme-music strings and an iconic windshield-wiper refrain tying it all together.

In short, “The Box” has all but moved in and unpacked its furniture on the Hot 100 charts. It’s currently in the midst of its ninth week at number one, a major accomplishment considering that his competition is the likes of Drake, Future, and Lady Gaga. In spite of a stacked playing field, Roddy Ricch’s momentum has continued to the point where some are wondering what might eventually dethrone the young Compton rapper. And if that does indeed end up happening, he’ll have some shiny new wall-mounted decorations to show for it.
As of today, the 30 Roc & Dat Boi Squeeze produced Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial banger has officially sold four million album-equivalent units, earning Roddy his fourth platinum plaque. All of this before his twenty-second birthday. The fact that Ricch managed to captivate such a wide audience with a genuinely hard-hitting and original hip-hop song should not go uncelebrated. We’ve frequently seen genres blend in an effort to secure mass appeal, and Roddy has forsaken none of his artistic principles in favor of a quick bag. You’ve gotta hand it to the young man. Who knows where this early success may take him? Either way, he’ll always have the house that EEE ERR built to kick back in.
Kevin Durant Deserves "All The Tribute Videos" From GSW, Says Dinwiddie
Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie says Warriors “better give Durant all the tribute videos in the world” on Thursday night.
The Brooklyn Nets will make their lone trip to the Chase Center in San Francisco on Thursday night, as they look to secure their third straight victory. As we know, Kevin Durant will not be suiting up against his former team – but he will be in the building.
Ahead of KD’s return to The Bay, Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie envisioned the reception that he hopes the two-time Finals MVP receives.
“They better give him all the tribute videos in the world,” said Dinwiddie, according to Mark Medina of USA TODAY Sports. “He got them two championships.”

During a recent discussion with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on their “All The Smoke” Podcast, KD spoke candidly about the Bay, revealing how he truly feels his legacy will be remembered.
Says Durant, “Man it’s like a different culture – it don’t even feel like you’re in California, the Bay is just it’s own thing. Being there I just really felt like I stamped myself as a legend in the Bay.” KD notes that he isn’t necessarily comparing himself to San Francisco 49ers legends Jerry Rice and Joe Montana that actually won in the Bay, but adds, “you got us winning back-to-back in the Bay, it’s like, ‘shit,’ that’s forever so I’m really proud of that.”
In his three seasons with the Warriors, Durant averaged 25.8 points to go along with 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. As we know, the Warriors were on the cusp of a three-peat when KD suffered a devastating achilles injury that has kept him out of action since the 2019 Finals.
