Spencer Dinwiddie continues to be one of the most active NBA players on Twitter. In his own right, he has become a bit of a troll, especially when it comes to his business ventures. For instance, Dinwiddie started and eventually took down a GoFundMe that would have seen fans donating to him in order to crowdfund his upcoming free agency decision. Now, Dinwiddie is reacting to something a lot more pressing, which could ultimately affect where he plays next.
Yesterday, we wrote about the fact that the Brooklyn Nets were thinking about acquiring the likes of Bradley Beal. Of course, Dinwiddie plays for the Nets and would most likely be a part of any deal that could bring Beal into the city. With this in mind, Dinwiddie offered a quick reaction in the form of a gif.
Essentially, Dinwiddie knows the Nets would have to move a lot of pieces for this move to happen and deep down, he knows he would probably be part of that equation. In Kyrie Irving's absence, Dinwiddie has played phenomenally well this season and his value is surely at an all-time high. If you're the Wizards, he is certainly looking like an attractive piece for a rebuild.
It will be fun to see how this all plays out.
Spencer Dinwiddie Appears To Reveal When NBA Will Return
Spencer Dinwiddie is giving fans what they've been hoping for.
Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic entered our lives, sports fans have been hungry for what they have been missing out on. Not having sports in your life can be tough and it's certainly been a very difficult few months for fans all around the world. One of the sports that people have been dying to have come back is basketball and the NBA. We were in the midst of a pretty fun season and people want to see how it will all end.
The NBA has been working on various return scenarios and there has been speculation as to when things will go back to normal. Today, Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets appeared to leak some interesting information, as he claimed that the NBA would be returning on July 15th and that there would be five regular-season games played. He noted that these games will be played at a bubble site and that practices will be allowed to start on June 21st.
Dinwiddie made sure to note that this is simply what he has heard although as an NBA player, you have to figure his information is coming from a pretty reliable source.
If this is, in fact, true, then NBA fans have something to look forward to.
Spencer Dinwiddie Starts Bitcoin GoFundMe, Lets Fans Pick Next Team
Spencer Dinwiddie has an interesting way of doing things.
Spencer Dinwiddie has consistently been one of the freest thinkers in the entire NBA. Instead of signing to a sneaker brand, he created his very own shoe. He also has a lot of interest in bitcoin and other forms of cryptocurrency. Dinwiddie's interest in technology has led him down some pretty interesting roads and now, he is using it to crowdsource his next free agency decision.
Essentially, Dinwiddie has started a GoFundMe campaign where he is looking to raise 2625.8 in bitcoin which also comes out to over $24 million. If he gets to his goal, he will let his fans choose his next team. Basically, you will be able to decide where he goes next. Thanks to the money he will have raised, he plans on only taking a minimum one-year contract.
While this is an interesting idea, it will certainly upset prospective teams who genuinely want to sign him. Not to mention, the bitcoin idea circumvents the salary cap, which could be deeply illegal in the confines of the NBA. With that being said, fans seem to be quite excited about this prospect.
As of right now, 74 people have contributed to the GoFundMe for a total of $816 USD. He still has a long way to go before reaching his goal so as it stands, his plans will probably fall short.
Spencer Dinwiddie Humbles Warriors Fans For Shaq Hot Takes
Spencer Dinwiddie had to make sure Warriors fans don't get too out of line.
Golden State Warriors fans have had a lot to cheer about over the course of the last five years. Barring their horrific season this year, the Warriors have made it to the last five NBA Finals and have even won a grand total of three championship. Their core during that time was none other than Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and even Kevin Durant for a couple of years.
Over the past year, Green has been exposed without Steph and Klay in the lineup. Regardless, some Warriors fans seem to think Green could have locked down Shaq while the big man was in his prime. In a recent Twitter exchange, Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets humbled Warriors fans who thought this to be the case.
"Warriors Twitter was drunk off of dynasty champagne. Understandable, but everybody sobers up eventually," Dinwiddie wrote. These comments came after choosing between two teams that contained numerous legends. He even picked Team A (LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, Shaq and Giannis) over a team consisting of his Nets teammates, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Dinwiddie made sure to note that he wasn't dissing his teammates and that he simply couldn't bet against someone like Shaq.
Warriors fans probably won't take too kindly to these comments but hey, such is life.
Nets’ Dinwiddie Suggests March Madness-Like NBA Playoff Format
Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie poses an interesting league-wide tournament if NBA season resumes following coronavirus outbreak.
The NBA season, as well as every other sports schedule, has been put on pause until further notice as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. As it stands, NBA action will be suspended until at least April 12th, 30 days after commissioner Adam Silver made the original announcement, but there's a growing belief that the game will be sidelined for much longer than that.
If and when the games resume, the league will surely have to present a revised schedule so that the playoffs don't drag out deep into the summer. One idea, posed by Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, is to hold a league-wide March Madness-like tournament.
Under Dinwiddie's format, every team in the league would essentially be awarded a spot in the playoffs. The top four seeds, the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers, would all receive first-round byes.
Meanwhile, the bottom for teams, the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, would be matched up in a pair of best-of-three series' with the winners moving on into the first round bracket. The 24-team first round would utilize a best-of-five format, and then the typical seven-game series would resume once the field is narrowed down to the final 16.
Who knows if the NBA will actually consider such a radical change to their playoff format but it's certainly an intriguing option to discuss.
Kevin Durant Deserves "All The Tribute Videos" From GSW, Says Dinwiddie
Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie says Warriors “better give Durant all the tribute videos in the world” on Thursday night.
The Brooklyn Nets will make their lone trip to the Chase Center in San Francisco on Thursday night, as they look to secure their third straight victory. As we know, Kevin Durant will not be suiting up against his former team – but he will be in the building.
Ahead of KD’s return to The Bay, Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie envisioned the reception that he hopes the two-time Finals MVP receives.
“They better give him all the tribute videos in the world,” said Dinwiddie, according to Mark Medina of USA TODAY Sports. “He got them two championships.”

During a recent discussion with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on their “All The Smoke” Podcast, KD spoke candidly about the Bay, revealing how he truly feels his legacy will be remembered.
Says Durant, “Man it’s like a different culture – it don’t even feel like you’re in California, the Bay is just it’s own thing. Being there I just really felt like I stamped myself as a legend in the Bay.” KD notes that he isn’t necessarily comparing himself to San Francisco 49ers legends Jerry Rice and Joe Montana that actually won in the Bay, but adds, “you got us winning back-to-back in the Bay, it’s like, ‘shit,’ that’s forever so I’m really proud of that.”
In his three seasons with the Warriors, Durant averaged 25.8 points to go along with 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. As we know, the Warriors were on the cusp of a three-peat when KD suffered a devastating achilles injury that has kept him out of action since the 2019 Finals.

Lakers Fans Erupt After Cryptic Spencer Dinwiddie Tweet
Spencer Dinwiddie had Lakers fans extremely optimistic.
Spencer Dinwiddie is one of those players you would be a fool to underestimate. He has been lights out for the Brooklyn Nets this season and has 20.6 points per game in Kyrie Irving's absence. If he keeps playing at this pace, there is a solid chance that the Nets end up making it to the playoffs, albeit for a short amount of time.
Tonight, the Nets are in Los Angeles to take on the Western Conference-leading Lakers. Dinwiddie is actually from Los Angeles which led him to take to Twitter and write "I'm coming home."
Typically, a tweet such as this one wouldn't exactly create any suspicion. However, Lakers fans failed to realize who their team was playing tonight. This led to a bunch of excited tweets the Dinwiddie might be leaving the Nets and signing with the Lakers. Of course, the logistics of this are pretty well impossible but we're talking Lakers fans here. We aren't talking about beacons of reason.
There were plenty of people in the comments section who tried to calm the Lakers fans down and remind them of the Nets game tonight. Of course, this brought the noise down although the reactions were funny, regardless.

Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie Changes Number In Honor Of Kobe Bryant
Dinwiddie is personally retiring No. 8.
Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is one of the many NBA stars who grew up idolizing Kobe Bryant, and it's the reason he has worn No. 8 throughout his career. In the aftermath of Kobe's death, Dinwiddie has announced that he is personally retiring the No. 8.
The 26-year old guard revealed that he will now be wearing No. 26 moving forward.
Dinwiddie grew up in the L.A. area during the height of Kobe Bryant's illustrious NBA career. Following Sunday's game at Madison Square Garden, which took place just hours after the tragic helicopter crash, Dinwiddie explained that Kobe telling him he was an All Star meant more than actually being selected to the team.
“I met Kobe several times, exchanged pleasantries and text messages and things, and maybe it’s a little bit overexaggerating but I felt like this was the first time he was looking at me as the basketball player, Spencer, you know what I mean?” Dinwiddie said on Sunday, according to the New York Post.
“I briefly told you guys how much he meant to all the people from where I’m from, and for him to tell me that in his book, I’m an All-Star and stuff like that, that uh — I kinda talk about [the All-Star Game as] a popularity contest before, like you know, you don’t win things like that when you’re me. So for him to say that, like, I didn’t need to be selected anymore, because I was an All-Star. It’s not just like my family knows. The guy [knows].”
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, several other NBA players who wear No. 8 or No. 24 are also expected to change their jersey numbers. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has already announced that no Maverick will ever wear No. 24 again, and there's a strong chance that other teams around the league will do the same.
