PARTYNEXTDOOR just dropped his new album PARTYMOBILE, which marked his official return to the game. He never really dropped off in popularity though. For years, the Toronto native has been one of the most prominent figures in R&B.
When DJ Akademiks took a look into the latest streaming numbers for R&B artists, he was surprised to make a few discoveries. For one, Ak didn't know just how impactful 6LACK has become. Although he didn't make any observations about PARTYNEXTDOOR's placement as sixth on the list, the recording artist caught wind of the numbers and decided to voice his frustration.

Re-posting the numbers with a cap emoji, it looks PND wants a recount. If the statistics are accurate, that would mean that Frank Ocean remains the most popular R&B artist on streaming platforms, despite his musical inactivity in recent years. He is followed directly by 6LACK, Daniel Caesar, Bryson Tiller, and the self-proclaimed king of the genre Jacquees.
PARTYNEXTDOOR clocked in 937 million streams, which is nothing to scoff at. In fact, that's more than most artists will ever see in their lifetime. However, he's not trusting of the source, calling out whoever put the list together and determining it false news.
Do you think PND's numbers are actually higher?
Trippie Redd Teases New Single With PartyNextDoor
This Friday, Trippie Redd and PartyNextDoor are set to connect for a new single this Friday.
It’s a good time to be a Trippie Redd fan, as the young rapper has been steadily dropping off some of his best music — in fact, his recent A Love Letter To You 4 has been praised as one of, if not the strongest album of his career. With all signs pointing to a continued upward trajectory, Trippie has already begun plotting the course for his next move.

Taking to Instagram, Redd confirmed that he’d be dropping off a brand new single, “Excitement,” with PartyNextDoor this coming Friday. “New song with @partynextdoor Friday! Who’s excited ?” he writes, alongside an image of the presumed single artwork. As is often the case with this generation of rappers, Trippie (or one of his affiliates) have already previewed the track at length, making snippets of the melodic tune relatively easy to find.
Should you be interested in seeing where Redd is aiming to go on his upcoming Pegasus album, check back on Friday for the brand new lead single. Not only is it set to be a return for the Ohio rapper, but a continuation of PND’s own momentum. You may recall that he recently dropped off his PartyMobile album at the tail end of March, making this one of his more active release periods in a minute. Are you excited to see these two link up for a collaboration?
Trippie Redd & PARTYNEXTDOOR Learn To Levitate
Trippie Redd and PARTYNEXTDOOR hung out and learned a new trick for Instagram.
In order to remain mentally stimulated, many people have resorted to learning a new skill during quarantine. Some have decided to finally pick up a new language. Others are holding the guitar in their hands and freely strumming, getting a hang for musicianship.
Trippie Redd and PARTYNEXTDOOR are already accomplished in their fields. The latter artist just released his new studio album PARTYMOBILE with features from Drake and Rihanna. The former has been making waves in the rap game for years. One thing that both of the entertainers was missing in their repertoire was the ability to perform a crazy magic trick.

Uploading a new photo on social media, Trippie Redd linked up with PARTYNEXTDOOR during the quarantine to flex the power of their minds, learning to levitate their bodies and the objects around them.
“When you free your mind anything is possible,” writes one of the tagged accounts in the picture. Trippie Redd, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Trippie’s dog all float effortlessly and casually in the backyard, meeting up to possibly discuss a collaboration between the two artists. The clearly-Photoshopped picture has earned nearly 400,000 likes.
It’s nice to see these two keeping busy during this tough time. While they clearly did not respect social distancing measures as they are not six feet apart, they both wore masks over their mouths (although Trippie’s was hanging off) so there’s that.
PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake "Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep" Leaks
Drake’s verse from “Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep” was used on Rihanna’s song “Work.”
“If you had a twin, I would still choose you/I don’t wanna rush into it, if it’s too soon,” raps Drake on Rihanna‘s hit single “Work.” By now, you’ve all heard it and you can play out the flow in your head. However, did you know that Drake’s verse from “Work” was originally recorded for a PARTYNEXTDOOR song called “Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep?”
As reported by several sources, “Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep” has officially leaked online by PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake.
The two Canadian artists have linked up time and time again to create some classic chunes. Their next collaboration may come through Drake’s upcoming album as he has already signaled for PND to hop on the body of work.

Their work together will surely be eye-opening when it drops but, until then, fans have uncovered the full version of “Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep” after Party played it during a live-stream.
Bumping the song on social media, PARTYNEXTDOOR was excited to play it for his fans. “That shit is really spooky,” he said as fans freaked out in the comments.
We can’t really guide you to the right place because, you know, copyright laws… however, we can tell you that the leak is sitting around on the internet.
Drake Invites PartyNextDoor Onto His New Album
As confirmed during a recent IG Live stream, Drake has a spot on his new album with PartyNextDoor’s name on it.
It’s no secret that Drake has been firmly entrenched in what the experts refer to as “album mode,” holed up in his Toronto estate putting in work on his Scorpion follow-up. At this point, we have all the reason to believe that Drizzy is going all out with this one, having recently revealed that his excitement levels about the album haven’t been this high in a while. And while we don’t exactly know many details about the as-of-yet untitled project, we do know that it could potentially feature Playboi Carti, Fivio Foreign, Sosa Greek, and more.

Now, it would appear he’s looking to bring in a few more reinforcements for the occasion. The ever-watchful eye of Akademiks managed to snag a screenshot of PartyNextDoor‘s recent IG Live stream, which found Drake firing off an invitation in the scroll of comments. “Are you getting on my album orrrrrrrrr,” asks Drake, who proceeds to confirm that “it’s not an album without you.”
At this point, consider it a high possibility that we see Drake and PND link up for a new collaboration on the former’s next project, due out for release later this year. Provided Party actually takes the 6ix God up on his offer, of course — though let’s be honest, why wouldn’t he? We’ve got nothing but time these days, so there’s really no excuse for the Partymobile singer not to get in the booth and lay something down for the occasion. What do you think — should Drake include his OVO Sound signee on his new album? And if so, do you think it can top their last one in “Loyal?”
Rihanna Just Made History
Rihanna officially has more slaps than The Beatles and JAY-Z after charting on the Billboard Hot 100 With PARTYNEXTDOOR on "Believe It."
For the first time in four years, Rihanna is present in a new song. It was a long time coming -- and she only says about five words -- but the Navy couldn't be any more pleased with her contribution to PARTYNEXTDOOR's new song "Believe It" on his album PARTYMOBILE. It turns out that her first new musical credit in almost half a decade was all she needed to make history, passing The Beatles and JAY-Z to make some chart history this week.
According to Chart Data, Rihanna has officially charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in three separate decades. With "Believe It" debuting just outside of the Top 20, Rihanna has appeared on the Hot 100 in the 2000s, the 2010s, and the 2020s. In addition to this feat, she simultaneously becomes the tenth artist to ever earn over fifty hits in the Top 40. She has effectively passed The Beatles and JAY-Z in the rankings.
With much more in the plans for this year -- an album, maybe??? -- Rihanna is just starting to hit her peak. The superstar from Barbados has been focusing on her fashion line, her make-up offering, and her other business ventures, nearing billion-dollar status and impressing the world with her major mogul moves.
Congratulations to Rihanna on a successful return to music. Here's hoping this influences her to drop R9.
The Weeknd Spoils PARTYNEXTDOOR & Joyner Lucas Debuts
The Weeknd “After Hours” spends another week at the top of the Billboard 200 as PARTYNEXTDOOR and Joyner Lucas both enjoy successful first weeks.
For the second consecutive week, The Weeknd has been crowned atop the Billboard 200.
The Toronto native recently released his new album After Hours, which opens the latest chapter in Abel Tesfaye’s creative career. With a highly-stylized theme and an overall aesthetic that kept us enthralled, the body of work has been successful for the XO Records honcho. With another 135,000 sales units counted in its second week out, After Hours was the most-consumed musical project of the week, clocking in ahead of the debuts.

As reported by Hits Daily Double, 5 Seconds Of Summer and Lil Uzi Vert close out the top three spots, with Dua Lipa and Pearl Jam following closely behind. At the sixth position is PARTYNEXTDOOR, whose new project PARTYMOBILE sold approximately 52,000 equivalent album units. With features from Drake and Rihanna, would you consider that a win for the OVO Sound artist?
Lil Baby and Bad Bunny keep up their solid numbers before Joyner Lucas arrives at the ninth tally with around 38,000 sales on ADHD. After so much hype and so many delays, is that a good number for the lyricist?

Some of the perpetual chart darlings, like Roddy Ricch and Post Malone, appear just after Joyner Lucas.

Frank Ocean, Kiana Ledé & H.E.R Hold Down This Week’s "R&B Season" Playlist
Some great R&B records came out this week from Kiana Ledé, H.E.R., and Frank Ocean.
Though we’re in troubling times as a society, there’s been an influx of incredible music that’s been dropping in the past few weeks. Thankfully, much of it has been some soothing R&B vibes that will, at least momentarily, ease the stress of quarantine for anyone who’s been feeling a bit down and out. We make sure to keep everyone up to date on the hottest records in R&B with our Spotify playlist, R&B Season. Updated weekly, we compile some of the recent R&B drops that we feel is necessary for everyone to tune into.
No major hip-hop albums ended up dropping this week but we did receive some great records this week. Kiana Ledé, for example, is fresh off of the release of her latest project, KIKI. We also got another album from the XO camp from Black Atlass who blessed us with Dream Awake, his official follow-up to 2018’s Pain & Pleasure. It was only necessary that we included cuts off of both of these projects for this week’s R&B Season playlist.
In addition to those two artists, it was only necessary that both new Frank Ocean songs secure spots on the playlist. We also got that new Lonr. and H.E.R. collab.

PARTYNEXTDOOR & Joyner Lucas First-Week Sales Projections
The Weeknd is expected to out-sell PARTYNEXTDOOR and Joyner Lucas to retain the top spot on the Billboard 200.
PARTYNEXTDOOR and Joyner Lucas both released their highly-anticipated new albums last week but, according to the first-week sales projections, neither will have a strong enough week to take The Weekndout of the top spot on the charts.
Despite all the excitement surrounding PARTYMOBILE and ADHD, it would appear as though neither one of those projects will have what it takes to dethrone The Weeknd as the Canadian crooner seems poised to spend another week at No. 1. According to Billboard, After Hours is likely to earn an additional 100,000 album units in its second week out. While it is still early to tell, that should be enough to keep him at the front of the pack.
His competition includes the new releases from Dua Lipa, Pearl Jam, and 5 Seconds Of Summer. All of those are set to debut higher than PND and Joyner.

As it pertains to PARTYMOBILE, which features Drake and Rihanna, the latest OVO Sound release is looking at a start of approximately 45,000 album units moved. Joyner Lucas will likely finish right behind the singer with 30,000 sales figures.
Do you think these are good numbers for PARTYNEXTDOOR and Joyner Lucas? With The Weeknd looking set for another week at the head of his kingdom, who do you think will end up dethroning him?

PARTYNEXTDOOR & Ari Lennox Lead The Way On This Week’s "R&B Season" Playlist
PARTYNEXTDOOR, Ari Lennox, and more come in hot on this week’s “R&B Season Playlist,” our specially curated picks of today’s hottest R&B offerings.
PARTYNEXTDOOR’s release of the highly anticipated PARTYMOBILE, along with Ari Lennox’s remix EP of some of the best tracks off her debut album, Shea Butter Baby, gave us plenty to choose from for this week’s “R&B Season” playlist. For a few months now, HNHH has been curating the carefully crafted “R&B Season” playlist on Spotify in order to keep you updated on the most fire R&B joints out right now, and this week, boy do we have some good picks for you. Leading the way is PND with some of the highlights off his freshly dropped album, PARTYMOBILE. “SAVAGE ANTHEM,” “EYE ON IT,” and “NOTHING LESS” all made the cut, and they’re certainly among good company. Ari Lennox blessed us with remixes of three tracks off her wildly successful 2019 debut album, Shea Butter Baby, all three of which are sitting pretty on “R&B Season.” The talented artist tapped Doja Cat to contribute her raspy flow and vocal stylings to “BMO,” and got Smino to put his spin on “I Been” along with up-and-comer Durand Bernarr for “Facetime.”
We also threw a fire track off The Weeknd‘s record-breaking masterpiece, After Hours, into the mix, following the release of the album’s deluxe edition this past week. Another project that’s been making waves is Childish Gambino/Donald Glover’s cryptically teased, 3.15.20, which he officially dropped last Sunday. A majorly R&B-infused track off the album is “12.38,” which you’ll be sure to find among our picks on “R&B Season.” Finally, we’ve also included Alina Baraz’s latest single, “More Than Enough,” for your listening pleasure.
