Ever since the NBA shut down on March 11th, a lot has happened in the world. In terms of the Coronavirus, millions of people have been infected with it worldwide, and over 100,000 people in the United States have died from it. Meanwhile, over the past couple of weeks, protests have been going on all across the world following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of the police.
Today, the Los Angeles Clippers released a powerful short film called "While We Were Away" which speaks on many of the events of the last three months. This film was narrated by Paul George and there are some very poignant lines that truly make you think and reflect on everything that is happening in the world right now.
“While we were away, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery were murdered,” George said. “Cause of death: another more familiar virus, centuries old.”
Basketball is set to come back on July 31st and for sports fans, the NBA is needed more than ever right now. Sports are a form of escapism and the hectic nature of the world has made escapism that much more important.
If you're a Clippers fan, you can't help but feel comforted by George's presence on the team. It's clear that he is a leader which is a quality you want come playoff time.
Paul George Reveals His All-Time Starting Five
Paul George’s all-time starting five has an interesting omission.
NBA players are constantly being asked to debate who some of the greatest players of all time are. It’s a pretty tired discourse that always results in a discrepancy between generations. If you were born after 1995, you probably think LeBron James is the GOAT. If you were born after 1980, Michael Jordan is likely your goat. Meanwhile, if you grew up in the 60s, you might say someone like Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain.
Now, players are asked about their all-time starting fives as this allows them to pay homage to multiple different players amongst numerous positions. Recently, Paul George was asked by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski about his starting five and the Clippers star gave an interesting answer, albeit one that may upset some purists out there.
“I would have Bron [LeBron James] at the point, Kobe [Bryant] at the two,” George said. “Yeah, I know Michael is the best, but I grew up on Kobe, so I would put Kobe at the two. My three, I would put Larry [Bird] at my three. At my four I will put KG [Kevin Garnett]. And my five I will put Shaq [O’Neal].”
Not including Jordan will definitely upset some of the oldheads out there but considering he chose Kobe instead, you can’t really blame him. You’re always going to be biased towards your favorite and at the end of the day, George is only human.
Let us know in the comments below who you would put as your starting five.
Paul George Sends Light Jab At LeBron Over 2013 Poster Dunk
Paul George has respect but also some light jabs for LeBron James.
LeBron James and Paul George are among some of the best players in the entire NBA. Throughout the years, they have had some pretty fun matchups against each other, especially when James played for the Miami Heat and George played for the Indiana Pacers. Back in 2013, the two had a pretty contentious playoff series against one another and it led to some pretty incredible plays out on the court.
Recently, it was the anniversary of George's poster dunk on LeBron and the clip started to resurface on social media. To celebrate the occasion, George took to Instagram where he sent a light jab at LeBron while also giving him some respect, noting that he upped his game in the playoffs because James was pushing him so hard.
“I blame and thank LeBron James for what just happened. You pushed me to another level bro,” George explained. This year could potentially mark another chapter in the LeBron and George rivalry. Both men play for Los Angeles based teams and if the NBA comes back, there is a real chance they could face off against each other in one of the later rounds of the playoffs.
If that happens, we're sure both men will be giving us highlights for days.
Paul George’s Nike PG 4 Gets Another Gatorade Colorway: Photos
Paul George’s signature shoe with Nike is getting yet another Gatorade collab.
Paul George has been consistently praised over the years for his signature shoes with Nike. All of his silhouettes have been touted as fire by both sneakerheads and ballplayers. However, his most recent shoe, the Nike PG 4, has gotten a bit more of a lukewarm reception. The silhouette and material combination is fairly unorthodox and when brands start to experiment, the results can be polarizing. Luckily, the PG 4 has been aided by some dope colorways and even a collaboration with Gatorade.
Now, the Nike PG 4 is getting yet another “Gatorade” colorway that flexes the brand’s OG color scheme. Of course, I am talking about green and orange. As you can tell from the official images below, the shoe has orange on the insole, cuff lining, and even the laces. From there, the toe box and tongue tab are green. Paul George branding is found all over the toe box as his logo is repeated throughout, creating an interesting effect. Overall, these are some colorful kicks and will surely make you stand out on the court.
A release date has yet to be determined so stay tuned for any updates.

Lou Williams Speaks Out On Argument With Paul George
Lou Williams and Paul George appeared to get into a heated exchange during their game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Lou Williams has been one of the most consistent sixth men in the NBA over the past few years and has been a great depth player for the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are expected to be title contenders once the playoffs roll around and Williams will most likely be a huge part of that. Last night, Williams helped his team put away the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 136-130. It was a hard-fought game for both teams, especially the Clippers who struggled at times.
Amid those struggles, Williams appeared to get in an argument with Paul George over defensive assignments. As you can see in the clip below, the two players exchanged some words and eventually, the clip made its way to social media. Williams immediately took to Twitter to deescalate the situation.
"You can tell y’all never competed at a high level before. This a regular conversation," Williams said with some laughing emojis sprinkled in for good measure. Clearly, Williams doesn't want there to be any negative noise surrounding his team, especially with the playoffs just a month away.
As it stands, the Clippers are tied for second in the Western Conference with a record of 41-19.

Paul George Gets Away With Egregious Travel After Taking Infinite Steps
Paul George should be thanking his lucky stars after that one.
Paul George is easily one of the best players in the NBA when he is at the top of his game. The Los Angeles Clippers have been thriving with him in their lineup and as the playoffs approach, it's clear the team is a contender to win it all. Having said that, players like George are able to get away with a lot. When you're a star, the officials give you the benefit of the doubt, especially if you've been kind to the referees over the years. On Monday night, that's exactly what happened to George as he got away with an absolutely egregious non-call.
In the clip below, George can be seen with a ton of space in front of him. When he gets the ball, he takes an obscene amount of steps before going with a dunk. If you watch closely, it's clear he took way more steps than you're allowed to. Regardless, the referee let it slide and George went on his way.
Traveling is rarely called in the NBA these days so this latest non-call shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Despite this, when a player takes over five steps on their way to the basket, they need to be held accountable in some way.
Some of you in the comments may try to argue that this was a "gather step" and that he still has plenty more steps he could have taken. While "gather steps" do exist, there is no denying the egregiousness of this particular play.
Paul George Gets Dragged For Considering Number Change To Kobe Bryant’s No. 24
"I actually reached out and see if I could bring 24 back."
In the aftermath of Kobe Bryant's passing, a number of NBA players who wear No. 8 or No. 24 have decided to informally retire the numbers in honor of the Laker legend. On the other hand, Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is reportedly thinking about changing his jersey number to No. 24 as way to pay tribute to Bryant, who wore the number for the second half of his illustrious career.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Paul explains:
"I actually reached out and see if I could bring 24 back, just because I always want to remember why I started playing this game. And that meant so much to me. You know, so, now I sit back and review it. I think every time should find a way to honor that. Let that jersey be a number that no one would be able to wear again. So we'll see."
George wore No. 24 at the start of his career with the Indiana Pacers but ultimately switched to the No. 13 that he still wears today. The 29-year old forward grew up in Southern California and credits Kobe Bryant as being the reason he ever picked up a basketball, but it seems like a majority of fans don't want to see a Clipper wearing Kobe's jersey number.
