Five years ago, it would have been impossible to imagine Cam Newton on a team not named the Carolina Panthers. He won an MVP trophy and led the team to a Super Bowl after going 15-1 in the regular season. While he never actually won the championship, he was still considered to be a legend of the franchise. Well, injuries have derailed his career over the past couple of seasons and now, he is looking forward to a career in another jersey.
Reports from last week suggested that Newton would be traded but it appears as though no one wants to make a deal. In light of this, Newton will be released by the Panthers and once this happens, he will become a free agent who can sign wherever he pleases.
There are a plethora of teams who could be in the market for Newton although it remains to be seen if they decide to sign him. Newton will be an expensive signing and in light of the Coronavirus, he won't be able to do an in-person physical for quite some time. Due to his various injuries, the lack of physical could come as a dealbreaker to various teams.
Let us know in the comments below who you think should sign Newton next.
Chief Keef Reportedly Released From Police Custody In Mexico
Sosa is reportedly a free man again.
Over the weekend, footage surfaced online of rapper Chief Keef being handcuffed and possibly arrested by authorities down in Mexico. The Glo Gang rapper was apparently south of the border for a show in Rosarita, Mexico, before he was taken into custody early Saturday morning for some unknown reason.
While details have remained scarce as for what actually happened, XXL is reporting that Sosa is no longer in police custody. A source close to Sosa told the media publication that Sosa is a free man again, although its unclear if he’s gone back to his home in LA or what. Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Released From Hospital After Coronavirus Diagnosis
The couple are now in self-quarantine at their home in Australia.
According to reports, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been released from a Queensland hospital in Australia on Tuesday after they tested positive for the coronavirus just five days ago. The couple are now in self-quarantine at their home there, a representative for Hanks told CNN.
The couple had been hospitalized in isolation after being diagnosed with novel coronavirus last week. They were in Australia because Hanks is portraying Elvis Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in a biopic about the musician’s life directed by Baz Luhrmann. The film, which was scheduled for release in October 2021, has now suspended production, the news service noted.

The couple each took to Instagram to share the news last Thursday. "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,' Hanks said in his first Instagram post about the diagnosis. "Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks' will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We'll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!"
Over the weekend, Hanks shared updates on their care and ongoing recovery.
City Girls’ JT Released From Federal Custody
JT of the City Girls no longer has to stay in a halfway house!
City Girls fan celebrated when it was announced back in October that JT had been released from prison, after serving a little over twelve months for credit card fraud. However, there was another step in the process towards JT being freed from custody. Until this past Saturday (Mar. 7), the Miami rapper was forced to stay in the RRM Atlanta halfway house.
Hours after her release from federal custody, the 27-year-old took to Twitter to express her gratitude for being able to enjoy the simple privilege of her own bed. She posted a screenshot of her camera roll, which showed a bunch of selfies in which she looks delighted to be snuggled up on a comfy mattress. "Woke up in my own bed for the first time in 2 years! Happppppyyyyy," she wrote.
While JT gets to enjoy the comfort of her own home, according to legal documents read by TMZ, she will still be on probation for a year. The terms of her supervised release reportedly require her to perform 200 hours of community service.
The same day as JT was released from prison, she dropped a "First Day Out" track, as customary in hip hop. While JT has apparently been going hard working on new music, City Girls haven't put out much recently. They shared "You Tried It" back in November. Now that JT has more freedom, the duo will likely kick things into high gear.
Lakers Plan To Waive Former All-Star DeMarcus Cousins: Report
New reports suggest that the Lakers intend to release DeMarcus Cousins in order to bring in Markieff Morris.
The Los Angeles Lakers plan to waive one of their biggest signings from last offseason, DeMarcus Cousins, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.

The former All-Star is a reportedly a popular player in the locker room, but on the court, he’s been unable to contribute in the slightest, after suffering a torn ACL in August.
The team was able to apply for a disabled player exception since Cousins is set to miss the entire season. The exception is still worth $1.75 million, which is much higher than the league minimum of $694,702.
News of Cousins’ release is surprising, considering head coach Frank Vogel was optimistic about his return for a playoff run over All-Star weekend: “I’m not even sure where he’s at with exactly what he’s doing day-to-day. I just still know he’s a long way away, but they’ve said they’re not ruling out him returning.”
Cousins is expected to be waived in order for the team to bring in newly released forward, Markieff Morris. Morris will be joining his brother, Clippers forward Marcus Morris in Los Angeles.
“That’s my brother man. Man, if he goes to L.A., then I’m gonna be in Staples Center all the time. I think maybe to y’all it might be weird that I’m going to all his games, but that’s what’ll probably happen. And we’ll probably get a house together,” Marcus said, in regards to his brother joining the Lakers.
Morris clears waivers on Sunday, at which point, Cousins would be officially released.
Josh Norman To Be Released By The Washington Redskins
Josh Norman has consistently referred to himself as the best cornerback in the NFL.
Josh Norman has been one of the most vocal players in the NFL over the last little while. Every single weekend, Norman would come through with a statement about how good he is at the cornerback position and how no one could beat him. Of course, a lot of these comments were false as Norman was consistently beaten by rival receivers. It was clear that Washington was starting to get annoyed with his antics and today, those sentiments were met with serious actions.
According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Redskins are releasing Norman which means he can go wherever he wants in Free Agency. For some fans, it's certainly a surprising move but it makes sense considering his lack of production on defense.
After the news broke, numerous fans took to social media as they displayed their desire for Norman to come to their teams. While he may not be the best corner in the league, he is still good enough to make an impact on a team that is lacking in their secondary. A team that comes to mind is the Philadelphia Eagles who cut Orlando Scandrick earlier this year.
Who would you like to see Norman play for next?
Trick Daddy Spotted At His Miami Restaurant Less Than 24 Hours After DUI Arrest
Trick’s first stop was his restaurant in Miami Gardens.
It looks like Trick Daddy‘s recent stint in the slammer on Saturday was a brief affair, as he was spotted later that same day out and about in Miami. As reported, Trick Daddy was arrested on Saturday morning after police responded to a report of a driver hitting signs and running red lights in a Range Rover in Miami. Police noted that he “appeared to be asleep behind the wheel,” and when he was woken by a knock on the window, he “had a slurred speech, bloodshot, watery, glassy eyes, and the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.” Trick admitted to having consumed about five drinks earlier in the evening and agreed to take a field sobriety test, but ultimately failed it. He was taken to the local police station, where cops claimed to have discovered cocaine remnants inside a dollar bill that was found in Trick’s possessions. He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Saturday morning, with a bond set at $5,000 for cocaine possession and $1,000 for driving under the influence.
It looks like he was able to get his bond paid and his freedom back, as he was seen stopping by his soul food restaurant, Sunday’s Eatery, later that same day. He took the time to take some photos with fans at the Miami Gardens joint, which he opened on September 14th of last year. Trick is currently starring in the latest season of Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
