Trick Daddy found himself in a tough spot back in January when cops pulled him over for reckless driving, and he was found to be under the influence and in possession of cocaine. TMZ has gotten ahold of the body cam footage from the cops who arrested Trick Daddy in Miami earlier this year, and the video even shows the moment that the officers found the white powdery substance believed to be cocaine in one of Trick's dollar bills.
The clip begins with the officers approaching Trick's vehicle, where he can be seen sitting in the driver's seat. Trick appears to have bloodshot eyes and a slurred speech while one of the cops questions him about his evening. He confesses to having consumed a few drinks earlier in the evening, "about 2-3 hours ago," but when the officers ask him to perform a sobriety test by attempting to walk in a straight line, he does not successfully complete it. After they handcuff him for driving under the influence, one of the officers begins counting his money, and discovers that a white powdery substance has fallen out of one of the crumpled up dollar bills. Another officer asks Trick, whose real name is Maurice Young, "what is that?" although it's clear what the officers believe it to be: cocaine residue.
He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, but was later released on a $6,000 bond that same day. Trick got clowned for his mugshot from the incident, but went on to reveal that he looks to be in such rough shape because he's been suffering from lupus.
Trick Daddy Spotted At His Miami Restaurant Less Than 24 Hours After DUI Arrest
Trick’s first stop was his restaurant in Miami Gardens.
It looks like Trick Daddy‘s recent stint in the slammer on Saturday was a brief affair, as he was spotted later that same day out and about in Miami. As reported, Trick Daddy was arrested on Saturday morning after police responded to a report of a driver hitting signs and running red lights in a Range Rover in Miami. Police noted that he “appeared to be asleep behind the wheel,” and when he was woken by a knock on the window, he “had a slurred speech, bloodshot, watery, glassy eyes, and the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.” Trick admitted to having consumed about five drinks earlier in the evening and agreed to take a field sobriety test, but ultimately failed it. He was taken to the local police station, where cops claimed to have discovered cocaine remnants inside a dollar bill that was found in Trick’s possessions. He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Saturday morning, with a bond set at $5,000 for cocaine possession and $1,000 for driving under the influence.
It looks like he was able to get his bond paid and his freedom back, as he was seen stopping by his soul food restaurant, Sunday’s Eatery, later that same day. He took the time to take some photos with fans at the Miami Gardens joint, which he opened on September 14th of last year. Trick is currently starring in the latest season of Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
Trick Daddy Arrested On DUI & Cocaine Possession Charges In Miami
His bond is set at $6,000 total between both charges.
Trick Daddy found himself in trouble with the law again when he was arrested in Miami on DUI and cocaine possession charges this weekend. The Miami Herald reported that a police officer had responded to a report of a driver hitting signs and running red lights in a Range Rover on Saturday. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noted that the driver “appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.” The officer knocked on the window, waking the man, who was later identified by his driver’s license as Maurice Samuel Young, known by his stage name, Trick Daddy. He reportedly had a slurred speech, bloodshot, watery, glassy eyes, and the officer smelled alcohol on his breath. Trick Daddy told the officer that he had consumed about five drinks hours that night at a club in Miami Gardens and was dropping someone off before heading home. He agreed to a field sobriety test, but was unable to successfully complete it.
Police later found cocaine inside a dollar bill while Trick Daddy was putting his possessions in a plastic bag at the local police station. He was then booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with a bond of $5,000 on the cocaine possession charge and $1,000 on the driving under the influence charge. This is the third time Trick Daddy has been arrested for cocaine possession. In 1991 he went to prison for more than two years for cocaine possession as well as for carrying a concealed firearm and violating probation. He was charged again with cocaine possession in 2014, along with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon and driving with a suspended license, though he was later bonded out on that occasion.
