Kevin Durant's ruptured Achilles injury from the 2019 NBA Finals was both devastating to his team and to himself as an individual. The Golden State Warriors went on to lose to the Toronto Raptors while Durant has been out of the NBA ever since. As of right now, Durant is a member of the Brooklyn Nets but he won't be able to play at all this season as he tries to rehabilitate his devastating injury. Typically, a ruptured Achilles can be a career-killer but based on all of the videos we have seen thus far, it seems like KD is poised for a full recovery.
In the video below, KD flexes his jump shot ability to the cameras. As you can see, Durant is pulling off a plethora of pull-up jumpers like it's nothing. It appears as though Durant still has great range and can make shots from anywhere. Not to mention, his footwork is looking pretty great, as well.
This should be positive news for Nets fans who have been through a lot this season. Kyrie Irving has been perpetually injured and he may have to call it a season due to his nagging shoulder injury. The team seems destined for the playoffs but without KD and Kyrie, they will most likely be a first-round exit.
Once KD and Kyrie are back and fully healthy, this Nets team will be a serious problem.
Kevin Durant On Track For Worst Season Of His Career, Says NBA Exec
Kevin Durant is coming off of a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Kevin Durant has consistently been one of the best players in the NBA for a better part of a decade now. His skills out on the court are hard to match and his skills are what ultimately helped propel the Golden State Warriors to two-straight NBA championships. In the offseason, Durant joined the Brooklyn Nets who also added the likes of Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately, the Nets have yet to see KD on the court due to his ruptured Achilles tendon.
Durant is on pace to come back next season although not everyone thinks he will be much of a help. In a new report from ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, some executives think KD is destined for a bad year when he comes back.

“I think Durant will probably have the worst year of his career,” one executive said. “No fault to him, but people don’t come back from Achilles injuries and tear the league up. It’s all relative. In the worst year of his career, he might be the 25th-best player in the league, and they might win 50 games. I just don’t see them being a realistic contender barring some moves.
While an Achilles injury is, indeed, hard to come back from, it doesn’t mean KD will be washed. There are a ton of factors that go into whether or not a player comes back in shape. As it stands, Durant is making great progress and Nets fans should be excited.
Kevin Durant Shows Off His Jumper Amidst Achilles Rehab: Watch
KD is looking great out there.
Kevin Durant hasn't played basketball since Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors. Durant ended up suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon which is going to keep him out for an entire year. The Brooklyn Nets will not be forcing him to play this year which means he will get to focus on his Achilles recovery.
When Durant is healthy, he is arguably the best scorer in the entire league and the Nets will be looking forward to receiving his services. Fans should be excited, however, because Durant is already in the gym showing off his jumper. In the video below, it's clear that Durant hasn't lost his step and can pretty well drain shots at will. If your favorite team is a rival of the Nets, you should be very wary of this latest development.
Even if Durant were ready to go for the last stretch of the season, it appears as though the Nets would rather exercise caution. The Warriors were overzealous when rushing KD back into the lineup which led to his big injury. The Nets have picked up on the Warriors' mistakes and are making sure their star is good to go for next year.
Once the Nets get KD back, they'll certainly be contenders in the East.
Kevin Durant Shows Off Running Ability Amidst Achilles Rehab: Watch
It's good to see KD on the fast track to recovery.
Kevin Durant is one of the best basketball players in the world although unfortunately, we haven't been able to see him on the court this season. Durant is currently out with a ruptured Achilles tendon that will most likely keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season. Despite this, Durant has been making great strides in terms of his recovery and could very well come back better than ever next season.
Perhaps the best example of Durant's recovery can be found in the video below. As you can see, Durant sprints across the Brooklyn Nets training facility before launching a football the full length of the court. While this doesn't speak to Durant's basketball abilities, it certainly gives us some insight on what KD can do with his legs, as of right now.
The Nets are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference despite their losing record. Kyrie Irving has only been able to do so much with this Nets team and it's clear they could use a piece like Durant in the lineup. Once KD comes back, the Nets will immediately become title contenders although it's going to have to wait until next year.
Regardless, Nets fans should be very encouraged by what they're seeing.
