Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls will be the subject of a brand new documentary called The Last Dance which is set to air on April 19th. In order to promote the new docuseries, members of the 97-98 Bulls team have been summoned for a series of interviews. Recently, Steve Kerr and Scottie Pippen sat down with Rachel Nichols of ESPN where they told some incredible stories about MJ. One of those tales involved the time he finessed a Bulls arena security guard out of $4,100.
As the story goes, Jordan and the security guard used to bet $100 per game on the Jumbotron races. The catch was that MJ was being tipped off as to who won, prior to the races airing on the screen.
“We used to have a security guard sitting at the top of our bench, it was John Capps. He’s now passed away,” Pippen explained. “Capps would bet Michael every game. The only way Capps would win is if he was able to pick the right one. Because if Michael picked, obviously he would pick the right one. He probably beat the guy out of $4,100.”
Jordan has been known for his love of gambling so this latest story shouldn't come as a surprise. MJ was also extremely competitive so his desire to get a competitive edge is also fairly characteristic of the star.
Cardi B Questions Assault Accuser’s Story
A former security guard claims Cardi B assaulted her but the allegations don't match the witness statements, the rapper says.
Cardi B is debunking allegations that she physically and verbally abused a former security guard working at a medical clinic during her pregnancy. According to TMZ, Emani Ellis filed a lawsuit against the Bronx rapper on claims that she was assaulted, struck and spat on by Cardi B. Witnesses have already denied these allegations but Cardi put them to rest herself.
"Why don’t you guys post the part where the doctor office said that that’s not what happen ?and if I assaulted why she didn’t press charges ? Why would I put my hands on some1 twice my size by myself while I’m experiencing sharp pain 4 months pregnant ?" She wrote on Twitter.
The alleged assault occurred on Feb. 24th, 2018, before Cardi had announced her pregnancy. Ellis alleged that she was attacked by Cardi who also used racial slurs against her. This apparently went down at a medical clinic while Cardi was pregnant but witnesses have denied the validity of Ellis' statement as well. Sources say that Ellis attempted to record video or take photos of Cardi but the rapper attempted to stop her because she didn't want to get filmed at the doctor's office.
It didn't end there, though. Ellis reportedly refused and got hospital towards Cardi before things escalated. Fortunately, building staff intervened before things for physical which debunks Ellis' allegations.
Ellis filed a suit against Cardi B for assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress. She claims that Cardi "then used her celebrity status to get [Ellis] fired from her job as a security guard." However, this isn't true, according to a rep from the building, Cardi's doctor and the patient coordinator got Ellis fired because she invaded Cardi's privacy.
Minnie Mouse Throws Hands At Security Guard In Vegas, Mickey & Goofy Get Involved
The magic of Disney is in these hands.
This may not be the sort of headline you usually see on our site, but we felt compelled to share this footage with you. The Las Vegas strip recently turned into a mix of Disney Land and Fight Club when a woman dressed in a Minnie Mouse decided to square up on a security guard.
While the video shared by TMZ starts out with the security guard approaching Minnie and throwing a punch, our best guess would be that the altercation stemmed from the entertainer not having the proper permit to publicly entertain. Minnie, who has lost the head of her costume, aggressively swings at the security guard, pulling her opponent’s hair and landing several blows to the face.
Mickey gets involved by trying to pull his boo off the fallen security guard. Minnie continues to go H.A.M. until she iconically shouts, “I ain’t no bitch, bitch!” and takes off with her cartoon shoes in hand. Oh yeah, Goofy was there too, but staying true to his character, he was pretty spaced-out. He stood idly by, not partaking much in this surreal fight.
According to TMZ, law enforcement has no interest investigating this mess unless either of the parties come forward.
