It appears Donovan Mitchell is doing just dine while being quarainted for having coronavirus. The Utah Jazz All-Star guard decided to release a video Saturday afternoon giving us an update, citing he’s doing just fine and playing a lot of video games at the moment.
"Just want to say thank you guys so much for your continued support. It means a lot to me," the 23-year-old Mitchell said. "I feel fine. Things are going well. Just taking the proper precautions as told to me by the authorities. I was told to stay in isolation, so, solo in here, playing videogames all day. Can't wait to get back out there and play in front of the best fans in the world. Really miss playing in front of you guys and I'll see you guys soon." Check out the clip for yourself (below).
Mitchell became the second NBA player to receive a positive coronavirus test result after teammate Rudy Gobert was the first, which caused the NBA season to be suspended. Thankfully, Donovan was the only Jazz player or staff member among the 58 people who were tested after Gobert's diagnosis to receive a positive test. We wish him and Gobert a speedy and healthy recovery while they are quarantined.
Conor McGregor Reveals His Aunt Passed Away Possibly From Coronavirus
Conor McGregor reveals that his aunt passed away, and he suggests coronavirus may have been the cause.
Conor McGregor took to Instagram Friday night to voice his concerns over coronavirus and in the process he suggested that his aunt may have died from its effects.
McGregor said he was about to appear on US TV when he was told his “lovely little auntie Anne had passed away”. He added: “I couldn’t go live anymore. My poor little friendly loving auntie. This stupid virus. What is happening?” he added. While he doesn’t confirm that it was the coronavirus that killed his aunt, he certainly suggests it.
Before all that however, McGregor left a long caption, reflecting on his own personal hygiene and his country of Ireland. “Ireland you amazing, amazing country. I believe we have this virus contained. And through this containment, we actually may have gone and contained them all. The good habits we will have now gained from this wild covid-19 attack will see us too strong in future.” See his post (below).
According to reports, there are now more than 100 cases of Covid-19 on the island of Ireland. The first death linked to coronavirus in Ireland – involving an elderly woman with underlying health conditions – was announced on Wednesday. We’ll continue to keep you posted.
Zion Williamson Offers To Pay Pelicans’ Workers Salaries During NBA Suspension
Zion a real one.
In response to the coronavirus shutting down the NBA season for now, Zion Williamson announced last night that he'll cover the salaries of all Smoothie King Center workers for the next 30 days.
Taking to Instagram, Zion wrote: ”The people of New Orleans have been incredibly welcoming and supportive since I was Drafted by the Pels last June, and some of the most special people I have met are those who work at smoothie King Center," Williamson wrote. "These are the folks who make our games possible, creating the perfect environment for our fans and everyone involved in the organization. Unfortunately, many of them are still recovering from long term challenges created by Katrina, and now face the economic impact of the postponement of games because of the virus.”
Williamson said the donation was inspired by his mother, and is a small way to express his support and appreciation for their hard work.
“My mother has always set an example for me about being respectful for others and being grateful for what we have, and so today I am pledging to cover the salaries for all of those Smoothie King Center workers for the next 30 days. This is a small way for me to express my support and appreciation for these wonderful people who have been so great to me and my teammates and hopefully we can all join together to relieve some of the stress and hardship caused by this national health crisis,” he wrote.
The Pelicans responded to Williamson's actions, tweeting out:
In addition to Zion, Giannis Antetekounmpo is also giving back to his Milwaukee family. He tweeted out that he and his family will donate $100,000 to those who work at Fiserv Forum, while Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love said on Instagram he was doing the same for those who work at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Iman Shumpert Shares Inspirational & Hilarious Kobe Bryant Stories
Iman Shumpert chatted with “Ebro in the Morning” about Kobe Bryant and dropped a few memories he had with the late basketball icon.
Now that he’s a free agent, Iman Shumpert has more time to work on his music career. The NBA star stopped by Ebro in the Morning to discuss his hip hop ventures, although he didn’t give them a date of when fans could expect to hear his full-length project. Iman did, however, chat about his friend Kobe Bryant and shared a memory of when the late basketball icon visited his high school.

“I can’t remember if somebody asked a question, but basically he was speaking on people sayin’, ‘Don’t put all your eggs in one basket’ type of thing, ‘Don’t spend all your money in one place’ type of vibe,” Iman recalled. “And he said he never believed in it, because he felt, ‘If I’m putting all my eggs in a basket to go for this, if I failed, and this basket drop and all the eggs break, why nobody told me I can just make more eggs?’ Of course, he said it with conviction. He stared straight through us… But he couldn’t see me, and I felt it,” Shumpert continued. “I was just like, ‘He just really believes what he’s saying.’ And he wants it to inspire me and it did. That was my inspiration story.”
Iman also shared a second tale of a time that he was guarding Kobe during a game at Madison Square Garden. “I can’t remember how much he had, but I know I had multiple steals against him,” Shumpert said. “In my head, all I’m thinking of is, ‘When I have this conversation with my brother after the game, how I’m gonna tell him how I stole the ball from Kobe, how I stripped Kobe before he was finna’ to take a shot, how I drove by Kobe and got a dunk.’ I’m thinking about all these things in my head. I’m like, so geeked.”
Then, as soon as the fourth quarter began, things shifted. “Fourth quarter starts, and Kobe said, ‘You had a great game, young fella,'” Iman remembered. “I swear I looked at the clock, like, ‘There’s 12 minutes. What you talking about? What was that?’ You ain’t said nothing the whole game. I’ve been talking sh*t, I done stole the ball, I’m hyped as hell. It’s Kobe Bryant. He ain’t said not one word to me.” Immediately Kobe began making moves that solidified in Iman’s mind that the Los Angeles Lakers icon was indeed superhuman. Giannis Antetokounmpo Unveils Huge Donation For Bucks Staff
Giannis Antetokounmpo came through with an incredible gesture.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has consistently been one of the best guys in the NBA over the last few years. While he is menacing out on the court, there is no denying just how charitable he is off of it. In light of the recent NBA shutdown due to Coronavirus fears, Giannis decided to take to Twitter with an announcement for all of his followers. As it turns out, Giannis will be following Kevin Love's lead by donating $100,000 to Fiserv Forum staff in Milwaukee, who are unable to work due to the hiatus.
It's a rough time for these employees as they now have no source of income coming in. With Giannis' donation, they will now have at least a bit of a safety net moving forward.
"It’s bigger than basketball! And during this tough time I want to help the people that make my life, my family’s lives and my teammates lives easier," Giannis wrote. "Me and my family pledge to donate $100,000 to the Fiserv Forum staff. We can get through this together!"
As the days go by, we will certainly see more of these gestures come to the surface. The players are in a huge position to do some good and we're sure that's exactly what they will do.
Stay tuned for updates on the NBA lockdown as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Lakers’ Alex Caruso Is Taking His Talents To Twitch
Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso gives fans an update on his status during #Day2 of the NBA shut down.
Basketball fans, and sports fans as a whole, are currently struggling to find ways to pass the time in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
Binge watching shows you've never seen, rewatching shows that you've already committed to memory, firing up the ole laptop to see what a certain website has to offer - Those are all fine options. But one of the best ways for fans to cope with the void left in there lives is by turning on their Playstation or XBox and playing out a season on their own terms, or going to battle with their buddies online.
If that's the route you're taking, be on the lookout for Los Angeles Lakers icon Alex Caruso, who recently revealed that he will be streaming games such as FIFA, Fortnite and Call of Duty for the foreseeable future. Athletes, they're just like us!
Caruso failed to provide his Twitch name or a streaming link, but we're sure he'll keep his fans updated once he gets everything set up. If he's even half as popular on Twitch as he was during the NBA All Star voting, the Bald Mamba may commit to the gaming life full time.
In his third season in the NBA, the 25-year old point guard is averaging just 5.4 points per game but he has still earned the title of "GOAT" from his teammate LeBron James.

Lakers Fans Upset Over LeBron’s MVP Bid Amid NBA Shutdown
Lakers fans have a peculiar sense of reality.
By now, it's common knowledge that the NBA season has been suspended until further notice. This means there are no more games to enjoy. It also means that the entire outcome of the year is in limbo. If the season is canceled, then there would be no champion, MVP, rookie of the year, and so on. In this scenario, teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers would be at the biggest disadvantage since they are the best teams in the league.
As you can imagine, Lakers fans are particularly upset about the season being suspended. Some, however, have completely missed the point and are more worried about LeBron James' MVP chances than the well-being of others.
Lakers fans have always been a bit more fanatical than the average NBA supporter so these sentiments shouldn't be surprising. To be fair, LeBron is 35 years old and won't have many more opportunities at a championship or MVP trophy. If this season were to end prematurely, it would be a devastating blow to one of the league's greatest players.
You can check out what Lakers fans have been saying in the tweets, below. Also, stay tuned for updates regarding the NBA's Coronavirus shutdown as we will be sure to bring you the latest.
LeBron James Reveals What He Did On First Day Off From NBA
LeBron James has succumbed to boredom.
Now that the NBA is on a hiatus, players are going to have to find something to do. When you're an athlete whose job it is to play basketball, it can be hard to find something to do all day. Many NBA players are already struggling with this as they try to self-quarantine and keep themselves sane. One of the highest-profile players in the league is none other than LeBron James, who was having himself an incredible season. While he may still get to resume it, there is no denying that the king has gone stir crazy.
On his Instagram story, James revealed that he has been watching some of his old games. In fact, LeBron went on a trip down memory lane as he loaded up some of his old games with Dwyane Wade from his Miami days. Even LeBron seemed to be impressed by some of his old work.
“Man we had more lobs in 4 years than the history of franchises itself," LeBron said. The clips were pretty impressive and it's hard to fault LeBron for being impressed by his own efforts. Wade and LeBron were a duo that was hard to top and there is no wonder as to how they were able to win two NBA titles and make it to four-straight finals.
Hopefully, LeBron can continue to find things to do during the quarantine.
