Orlando Scandrick has been going on an "F you" tour ever since he was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles. Scandrick was a member of the Eagles secondary and was eventually cut due to a string of awful defensive performances. The former player has taken it upon himself to be the Eagles' most vocal critic and has turned his situation into a recurring analyst gig on FS1's Undisputed. Scandrick received the call of duty on Monday because his former team lost in the playoffs the day before. As you can imagine, Scandrick was incredibly disrespectful of the Eagles, much to the dismay of Undisputed co-host, Shannon Sharpe.
Sharpe immediately began defending the Eagles while pointing out that Scandrick was only criticizing them because they cut him. Of course, Scandrick refuted this premise but Sharpe was unrelenting, noting that Scandrick gave up a play on 3rd & 30. Scandrick tried to defend himself but Sharpe couldn't be stopped.
It remains to be seen if we'll ever see Scandrick back on Undisputed. He seemed to be upset with Sharpe's critiques and even refuted some of his dubious stats. Regardless, it made for some truly entertaining television that all of Twitter was anticipating. Perhaps Scandrick will think twice before hating on the Eagles again.
Anthony Davis Refuses Lakers Max Extension, Will Go To Free Agency
Davis is hoping to maximize his earnings.
Anthony Davis has been an MVP-caliber player this season and Los Angeles Lakers fans are incredibly happy that the team traded for him. Davis has a one-year player option on his contract that would extend him into the 2020-2021 season. He also had the option of signing a four-year, $146 million extension with the Lakers. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers offered Davis the max extension today although he chose to decline it. This means Davis will become a free agent at the end of the season and can sign with whomever he wants.
Lakers fans shouldn’t worry too much about this news as it is simply a formality. As of the summer, Davis will be eligible for a five-year $202 million contract which is significantly more than the extension he was offered.

Davis and LeBron James have had incredible chemistry this season and are looking like a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. If these two can make a deep run together, it should be a foregone conclusion that Davis will want to re-sign with the Lakers. There have been rumors that he may want to go to the Chicago Bulls although for now, the team simply doesn’t have enough pieces to be an attractive option.
Considering the circumstances, it’s fair to say the Lakers were expecting this decision. For now, it remains to be seen how the summer will play out.
Derrick Rose To Participate In 2020 All-Star Skills Competition In Chicago
D-Rose returning to Chicago for the All-Star Skills Competition.
The NBA's All-Star festivities are on the horizon and we're slowly but surely learning more about the All-Star Saturday Night participants. For instance, just yesterday it was reported that both Dwight Howard and Derrick Jones Jr. have agreed to take part in the Slam Dunk Contest, while two-time champion Zach LaVine and Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant are considering accepting their invitation.
On Tuesday, Shams Charania revealed Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose as the first participant in the Skills Competition, which will also take place on Saturday, February 15.
Rose, 31, is currently averaging 17.3 points and 5.7 assists per game. The former No. 1 overall pick spent his first eight years with the Chicago Bulls, which included three All-Star appearances and an MVP nod in the 2010-11 season.
There will be eight participants in total for the All-Star Skills Competition, which is a timed obstacle course that highlights each player's speed, dribbling, passing, and shooting ability. In recent years, the Skills Competition has been played in a knockout format, featuring four back court players and four front court players.
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum defeated Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young to take home the crown in 2019.
Stephen A. Smith Rips NFL Teams For Lack Of Black Head Coaches
Smith brought the "Rooney Rule" into question.
Stephen A. Smith has been very vocal about the things he dislikes in the world of sports. Today on First Take, Smith voiced his displeasure with what's been going on in terms of the NFL head coaching searches. So far, every team in need of a new coach has hired a white person and it doesn't seem as though they've interviewed any African-American suitors. Of course, this goes against the "Rooney Rule" which demands teams interview a diverse range of candidates in order to be fair.
Smith argued that the "Rooney Rule" doesn't work and that teams don't really care about it. The Giants hiring of relatively unknown New England Patriots special teams coach Joe Judge, seems to have been the catalyst for this rant. In many ways, Smith brings up a great point as there are very few African-American head coaches.
For now, the Cleveland Browns are the only team who hasn't hired a new head coach. They are the team that could break the mold although many of the names brought up in relation to the Browns are white. While many fans might not care about such matters, it's important to note that diversity should be important to the league as it ultimately allows for a wide variety of qualified individuals to get opportunities.
As it stands, the "Rooney Rule" has proved to be ineffective in this offseason. It will be interesting to see if the league makes any amendments to the rule after these latest hires.
NBA "Seriously Reconsidering" The Idea Of Playoff Reseeding: Report
NBA might scrap their plans to implement playoff reseeding.
The NBA has a number of items on the docket for the Board of Governors meeting in April, but the idea of reseeding the final four playoff teams may be off the table. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe, the NBA is "seriously reconsidering" the proposed plan reseeding the conference finalists as part of their larger proposal to reshape the league's calendar.
According to the report, one of the major concerns from teams was the potential for a ridiculous travel schedule.
"For example, a Milwaukee-Indiana conference final would presumably benefit the winner of that series over a team that emerged from a cross-country Los Angeles-Miami series. The NBA's coastal teams have been largely against this reseeding idea, sources said. The league's research has shown that the proposal of reseeding teams based on regular season records could lead to travel increases of 60% and could result in one in one out of every four series being played across three time zones, sources said."
Although it looks like the reseeding proposal may be off the table, the league is still hoping to implement an in-season tournament and post-season play-in for the seventh and eighth playoff seeds. The league is hoping that those changes could be in place for the NBA's 75th season in 2021-2022, but in order for that to occur, two-thirds of the NBA teams and NBPA must agree to the changes at the April meeting.
Shaq Has No Doubt He And Kobe Would Beat LeBron & AD: Watch
"Who's gonna guard me?"
Los Angeles Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis have proven to be one of the most dominant tandems in the NBA today, but they couldn't hold a candle to the duo of Shaq and Kobe. At least, that's what Shaq thinks.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, The Diesel was asked the hypothetical question: Who would win in a two-on-two, he and Kobe Bryant in their prime or LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Hall of Fame center left no doubt, saying "hell yes" he and the Black Mamba would reign supreme.
"Yes. Hell yes. Of course [we'd win]," O'Neal said. "Cause there's only one contributing factor. Who's gonna guard me?"
In their first season as teammates, LeBron and AD have led the Lakers back to the top of the Western Conference with a record of 29-7, trailing only the Milwaukee Bucks for the best mark in the NBA. As we know, Shaq and Kobe captured three straight NBA titles during their run as teammates in LaLa Land and there was nobody on God's green Earth capable of containing Superman.
Let us know where you stand on the Shaq & Kobe vs LeBron & AD debate.

XFL Reveals New Rules Including "Shootout" Overtime Format
XFL to introduce a three-tiered extra point system.
The XFL has announced several new rule changes that will separate the league from the NFL action we've all grown accustomed to. For instance, a running game clock, a "shootout-style" overtime format, and a three-tiered extra point system that ditches the need for extra point field goals.
Additionally, the XFL will allow for double forward passes, so long as both originate behind the line of scrimmage, and receivers will only need to get one foot down in bounds to complete a catch.
Here's a quick breakdown of some of the most notable XFL rules.
After a TD is scored: Teams will have the option to go for 1, 2 or 3 points. A 1-point play can be scored from the 2-yard line, a 2-point play from the 3-yard line, or a 3-point play from the 10-yard line.
Shootout-style Overtime: Each team will get five single-play possessions from the 5-yard line. If the score is still tied after those attempts, the rotating possessions will continue until there is a winner.
Running game clock: The clock will not stop after incomplete passes or when a player goes out of bounds, unless there is under two minutes remaining in the half.
Timeouts: Each team will receive two timeouts per half.
No coin tosses: The home team will always have the option to kick, receive or defer. The visiting team will have that option in the event of overtime.
The XFL season will kick off on Saturday, February 8, the week after Super Bowl LIIV.
The league's eight teams have been divided into two divisions - East and West. The East is comprised of the DC Defenders, New York Guardians, St. Louis BattleHawks, and Tampa Bay Vipers, while the West includes the Dallas Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Los Angeles Wildcats, and Seattle Dragons.
Stephen A. Smith Blasts Max Kellerman For Tom Brady Slander: Watch
Smith just wants Kellerman to apologize.
Max Kellerman has been one of the biggest Tom Brady haters in the world over the past few seasons. Despite his sustained success on the football field, the First Take host continues to criticize Brady for being on the decline and not being the player he once was. After losing in the Wild Card round to the Tennessee Titans, Brady was made vulnerable to even more slander from Kellerman. In yesterday's episode of First Take, Kellerman was honest about his thoughts and feelings although Stephen A. Smith wasn't having any of it.
Smith unleashed on Kellerman saying Brady had no help in terms of weapons and that it wasn't the QB's fault whatsoever. Smith felt as though Kellerman should apologize to Brady for all of the slanderous things he has said over the past year or so.
Of course, Kellerman didn't seem to be phased by Smith's rant and just sat there with a smirk on his face. In many ways, both analysts are right when it comes to Brady. The QB has been in decline for a while now but has been bailed out by a great defense and some heavy weaponry on offense. This year, however, Brady's offensive weapons were lackluster and the defense failed when it was needed the most.
Heading into next year, Brady's future with the Patriots is up in the air. For Kellerman and Smith, this will certainly prove to be great argument fodder.
Zion Williamson Update: Pelicans Rookie Progresses To 5-On-5 Action
The wait is almost over.
New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson continues to trend in the right direction as his NBA debut appears to be right around the corner. According to ESPN's Andrew Lopez, Zion is expected to participate in 5 on 5 scrimmages with his teammates during Tuesday's practice.
Late last week, ESPN reported that the No. 1 overall pick needed about three or four more practices before the team would clear him to take the "preseason assessment test" that would allow him to make his highly anticipated NBA debut. Zion participated in a full practice last Thursday, which marked the first time that he had been able to do so since undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus.
Prior to the Pelicans' loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday night, the team's social media account shared some footage of Zion throwing down a few dunks which certainly had fans itching with excitement.
Williamson, who averaged 23.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during the preseason, was awarded the AP Player of the Year in a landslide after posting 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in his freshman season at Duke.
The Pelicans are currently sitting in 14th place in the West with a record of 12-25, and they're obviously going to be overly cautious in their approach to Zion's return. That said, it certainly seems as though it won't be long now before he's back on the floor.
