Both Polo G and NLE Choppa are essentially two of the biggest break-out artists of the past year. Both are relatively young, Polo G at 21 years old while NLE is only 17, and they both deliver hardened street-heavy raps with an emotional aggression to them. Thus, it's not too surprising to find out the two have music together in the works.
What might be surprising though, is that the two actually linked in the studio IRL together, despite the fact that most around the world are currently practicing socially distancing. Nonetheless, we know that some states are slowly but surely starting to re-open, so it's only a matter of a time before social distancing practices begin to fall through the cracks as well.
NLE Choppa revealed the two were in the studio together late last night, commenting on just how dope Polo G is. "In the studio with @Polo_Capalot that nigga hard," he wrote to his 380,000 twitter followers.
What do you think the two cooked up? Polo G, for his part, dropped a new single recently, in "DND," while NLE is still buzzing off the streaming success of his collaboration with Roddy Ricch, "Walk Em Down."
We'll be keeping an eye for this collab.

Meek Mill’s Locked In The Studio
Following the release of “Believe” with Justin Timberlake, Meek Mill continues to tease the arrival to his “Championship” follow-up.
Meek Mill is constantly in the studio putting in work but fans have been steadily trying to hear what he’s been cooking up. The Philadelphia-bred MC has been teasing new music since dropping his last album, Championship in 2018, even promising to drop a summer pack that never actually arrived. Despite this, fans can rest assured that his next project is in the works.
“Believe” with Justin Timberlake dropped a few weeks ago but Meek’s yet to announce the status of his next project. However, he’s steadily been sharing videos of himself in the studio. Yesterday, he previewed a new single detailing jealousy and a few hours ago, he shared another glimpse of what fans can expect on his next project. He will surely have the bangers ready to go on it but it seems like he’s going to continue to drop some detailed bars about his own inner turmoil.
Meek shared footage of himself in the booth while he was recording a new song, detailing the struggles and the importance of family over fame. “Tryna find my truth/ Dream-chasing as a youth/ Last night, shit, I was stressin’/ I woke up and bought a coupe/ Put it on the ‘Gram and made a caption that was cool/ But I feel better when I’m pickin’ up Papi up from school,” he raps.

Monica Shares Clip Of Studio Session With Pharrell Williams: "I Just Wanna Sing"
Some new heat coming.
We can only imagine what R&B jams are on their way now that Monica and The Neptunes have joined forces. Monica is newly divorced and entering into a new stage in her life, so fans have wondered if her single status will affect her music moving forward. Breakups may be devastating, but for an artist, tragedy is often the fuel that births hit records.

"For MANY years I’ve dreamed of working with The Neptune’s .. Admiring their ability to remain current yet timeless as well as their bond & brotherhood because loyalty is fleeting in this business !!" she wrote in the caption of a photo of herself and Pharrell Williams on Instagram. "Here I sit with @pharrell .... Psalms 62.8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart to him? #Chapter38."
Monica later shared a clip of herself in the studio talking about her rise and how she just wants to get in the booth and sing from the heart. She wants to bring back that authenticity to music because it seems that in the current culture, people create what they believe the audience wants rather than just giving who they are.
The singer was also recently in the studio with Jermaine Dupri so keep an ear out for that. Watch Monica and Pharrell work their magic while talking about creating a "ghetto pop record" below.

You know what? That's a great idea.
The road to Playboi Carti's forthcoming album, Whole Lotta Red, has been longer than expected or hoped. He has provided multiple teasers that have misled us into believing that the project's release was not far away, even though it still hasn't made its way into our hands. Given how many times Carti seemed prepared to drop it, WLR must be sitting on a hard-drive somewhere waiting to receive the green light to be freed. There's not much that we know about the album. Carti's cover story for FADER detailed that he had been working a lot with Metro Boomin and secured guest features from Gunna and Trippie Redd for unreleased songs. However, that story came out at the beginning of last summer and it's very likely that Whole Lotta Red has since evolved into a new permutation.
This new permutation might include an appearance from the legendary Yung Lean. Footage from IG stories show that Carti and Yung Lean linked up in the studio on Friday night. A snippet was shared of one song they cooked up, but only Lean is heard performing a rapping-singing hybrid on it. Considering that both of these artists have been pioneers of drug rap in their own right and have brought truly distinct styles to the music world, a collaboration between them is bound to be magical.
