Cardi B does not have time for Tomi Lahren's bad takes when yet another black man has just been killed by police. On Wednesday (May 27th), just two days after George Floyd was suffocated to death by Officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis sparking protests around the city, Tomi took to Twitter to share her thoughts on looting that nobody asked for. "How does looting, rioting and destroying your OWN community bring justice for anyone?" the political pundit tweeted, referring to the property damage enacted by protestors in order to make a statement.
Cardi, who has a history of beefing with Tomi and even infamously threatened to "dog walk" her, felt it her civic duty to shut her up. The rapper responded to her tweet the following day, pointing out the big picture and reminding Tomi what they're fighting against in the first place: horrific police brutality.
"How does targeting, profiling, beating and murdering black men with no consequence equal serving and protecting?" Cardi asked. "Who’s giving them justice and trust on cops ? Mind your business and eat your salad !" Later, Cardi shared her own reasons for supporting looting in a statement posted to her social media accounts.

"People are tired," she said. "So now this is what people have to resort to." Cardi also encouraged her followers to get informed on their local representatives and vote in local elections in order to spark change.
Tomi Lahren Parrots Trump "Thug" Remarks And Disparages Protesters
Birds of a feather flock together.
Many people throughout the United States are hurting right now due to the police killing of George Floyd in broad daylight. Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin used excessive force on Floyd and ultimately killed him. The entire act was caught on camera and the images of the tragedy have been embedded in the psyche of the American people. Justifiably, many are angry at what has transpired and protests are now going on all throughout the nation.
After peaceful protests were not getting the job done, riots and acts of looting were committed. Some believe these acts are completely justified while conservative-leaning people such as the President and Tomi Lahren, are upset at what they are seeing. Today, Trump called the protesters "thugs" which is a word he never seems to use for white protesters. Not surprisingly, Lahren also used it while speaking on those who were voicing their displeasure with America's institutions.
As one can imagine, Lahren caught quite a bit of flack for these tweets and justifiably so. At a time like this, you don't want to be parroting the President, yet, here we are.
Meanwhile, some good news had come out today as it was revealed that the officer who killed Floyd, Derek Chauvin, has been arrested.
Tomi Lahren Tweets And Deletes Tone-Deaf Slavery Take
Tomi Lahren once again drew backlash over a particularly incendiary take, this time likening social distancing measures to slavery.
At this point, it feels like a damned if you do, damned if you don't type of deal whilst covering Tomi Lahren. On one hand, some of her takes appear clearly designed to stir up controversy through sheer provocation, thus providing further coverage for her page. On the other, those types of tone-deaf takes can feel important to highlight nevertheless, given how deeply they highlight the divide between political demographics in American society.

Seeing as the entire United States seems to be collectively quarantining -- though some states have decided to speed up the reopening process -- a permeating frustration has begun to bleed through the cracks. Many have chosen to politicize the quarantine measures and analyze them through that particular lens, and it appears Lahren did exactly that yesterday afternoon. In a tweet since captured by a few eagle-eyed users ready to pounce, Lahren can be seen likening the public's quarantine compliance to "wilful slavery" -- all but opening a veritable pandora's box of shit in the process.
Once again failing to read the room (though Lahren likely knew exactly what she was doing), the conservative pundit wasted little time in catching backlash from those eager to take her down a notch. Regardless of how you might feel about the stay-at-home directives being enforced, slavery remains a dark blight in human history and one that should not be used to make flippant comparisons. As of this moment, Lahren hasn't responded to her since-deleted tweet, but that hasn't stopped the backlash from spreading like...well, the simile all but writes itself.
Cardi B Threatens To Dog Walk Tomi Lahren Again For Jay-Z & Beyoncé Criticism
Cardi reporting for duty.
It's been a year since Cardi B first threatened to "dog walk" Tomi Lahren. Their feud started with Lahren belittling Cardi's political participation and then continued when the conservative talking head mocked 21 Savage's ICE detainment. It was a peak moment for 2019 pop culture and now it has bled into 2020.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are making headlines for remaining seated during the national anthem at the Superbowl on Sunday night and Lahren gave her two cents on the matter. "Beyoncé & Jay-Z (former crack dealer) sit for the national anthem because apparently the United States of America has oppressed them with millions upon millions of dollars & fans. Sounds rough. Maybe they should try another country that allows them a little more freedom & success?" Tammy tweeted this morning. "You hate police, Donald Trump, and the spirit of this nation so much you can’t pick your privileged asses off the chair for 2 mins to pay some respect? Despicable."
After a fan of Cardi's antics caught wind of this tirade, she tagged the rapper in to put Lahren in her place. "@iamcardib it’s time to walk the dog again," the fan wrote. Cardi was prepared to heed the call: "Get me my leash." In honor of the return of Bardi The Dog-Walker, check out these memes of Lahren on her leash.
Tomi Lahren Big Mad Over Jay-Z & Beyonce’s National Anthem Snub
The cycle continues.
It's curious how the cycle works. Pundits such as the conservative Tomi Lahren make a living out of expressing resentful takes on the behavior of her adversaries. And yet if said adversaries didn't behave in such fashion, what would she have to talk about it? It's become common practice for televised events to feature some degree of sociopolitical commentary and the Super Bowl is no exception. Even if it's not intentional, the fallout is often as damaging as the act itself. For Tomi Lahren, the inciting incident arose when Jay-Z and Beyonce remained seated during Demi Lovato's lovely take on the National Anthem.
At this stage, neglecting to stand for the National Anthem is equivalent to shaking up a can of worms and cracking it open. It didn't take long for Lahren to get good and riled up at the Power Couple, whose combined net worth is staggering to say the least. Falling back on her old favorite insult, which is to say "former crack dealer," she made sure to give the duo a piece of her mind.

"Beyoncé & Jay-Z (former crack dealer) sit for the national anthem because apparently the United States of America has oppressed them with millions upon millions of dollars & fans. Sounds rough. Maybe they should try another country that allows them a little more freedom & success?" she writes, neglecting to mention that Jay-Z is the greatest of all time. "You hate police, Donald Trump, and the spirit of this nation so much you can’t pick your privileged asses off the chair for 2 mins to pay some respect? Despicable."
Now, to Lahren's credit, she knows exactly what she's doing here. As did Jay-Z and Beyonce when they made the call. Perhaps the simple act of writing this is akin to tossing gasoline on the fire. Still, at its core, there's always amusement to be found whenever Lahren dips her toes into the subtle art of hip-hop commentary. Because let's be honest: the critics would be just as up in arms if they stood up. Was Radiohead's "Sit Down, Stand Up" foreshadowing to this fateful day?
