Ariana Grande sat down for a virtual chat with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe to promote her new collab with Justin Bieber, “Stuck With U,” and discuss all things music. During the interview, Ari revealed that she has a new song coming out with Doja Cat, who just nabbed her first No. 1 single on the Billboard charts with “Say So” featuring frequent Ariana collaborator, Nicki Minaj. Ari also gushed over her love for Rihanna‘s last album, 2016’s Anti, and looked back on the late Mac Miller, whom she dated for nearly two years from 2016-2018.

“Nothing mattered more to him than music ever,” Ari said about Mac. “He was the kind of person who woke up and rolled into the studio, like tumbled out of bed into the studio next door. Nothing was more important. Talk about losing track of time and forgetting to eat, remind yourself to take care of yourself and be a person.”

“He was a person who gave literally every single second of his thoughts and time and life to music,” she continued. “And I think that is so evident in what he has left us with and just how many incredible and different bodies of work…It’s just such a beautiful gift that he kind of touched the world with and I think the thing he’d want most is for us to just appreciate it and not forget about it.” Last month, Mac’s 2010 breakout mixtape, K.I.D.S., finally hit streaming services nearly a decade after its initial release.
