Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon would be “very surprised” if he makes another album

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has said he would be “very surprised” if he ever makes another full-length album. The fifth Bon Iver record, ‘SABLE, fABLE’, was released in April via Jagjaguwar, which Vernon produced with Jim-E Stack at his own April Base Studio in Wisonsin, and it has gone on to pick up a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Advertisement Despite its success, Vernon has now strongly hinted that the LP may prove to be the final Bon Iver album, as he has stopped writing songs for the first time in his life. In an interview with The Times, he spoke about how his music has managed to move so many people. “I’m tapped into the emotion of music – the blue part,” he said. “I have that in me thanks to the thousands of musicians I’ve absorbed, and they’re just in there.” However, he added: “But I don’t know how much is left. I’ve expelled a lot of it.” [embedded content] When asked directly if that meant there would be no more Bon Iver albums, he responded: “I would be very surprised. For the first time since I was 12, I’m not writing songs.” Recommended “There aren’t any in here,” he added, pointing at his heart. “I have been writing since puberty and this is unfamiliar territory – but I am accepting it. Half-speed reissue of Talk Talk’s classic ‘Spirit Of Eden’ announced

Talk Talk have announced a new half-speed reissue of their classic 1988 album ‘Spirit Of Eden’. The band – made up at the time of singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Hollis, bassist Paul Webb and drummer Lee Harris – made a radical departure from their early synthpop sound with ‘Spirit Of Eden’, with Hollis and producer Tim Friese-Greene recording for many hours at a time and editing the tracks down to fit the album format. Advertisement The record veered in an eerie, ambient-influenced direction, embracing jazz, dub and classical music. Its ethereal sound and experimental recording process would become highly influential, and is often credited as being an early landmark in the post-rock genre. Talk Talk – ‘Spirit Of Eden’ reissue The band had already trialled many of the techniques on their third album ‘The Colour Of Spring’ in 1986, but many view ‘Spirit Of Eden’ as their finest hour, and NME named it the 95th greatest album of all time in 2013. The reissue has been overseen by Harris and Hollis’ son Charlie, alongside producer Matt Colton, and it will be released on February 6, 2026 – you can pre-save/pre-order your copy here. AC/DC’s first Australian show in 10 years was so powerful that it set off earthquake detectors

AC/DC‘s first Australian concert in a decade was so powerful, it set off earthquake detection equipment. READ MORE: AC/DC – ‘Power Up’ review: Australian rock icons stick to their guns on rollicking 17th album Wednesday (November 12), saw AC/DC kick off their first hometown tour in 10 years, performing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. The show – which was a long time coming for fans – proved to be a thunderous performance in more ways than one, as reports now claim that the concert was so big, seismic vibrations were recorded on earthquake equipment. Advertisement Per the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Adam Pascale, chief scientist at the Seismology Research Centre, said vibrations within the two to five hertz range were registered at their Richmond office, about three-and-a-half kilometres from the concert venue. Pascale explained that while the loud music from the show is a large factor into the vibrations recorded, it wasn’t the only thing that contributed to the recordings. “The sound waves that people were experiencing nearby and feeling something through their bodies, that’s the equivalent to what our seismographs feel. We’re picking up the ground motion, we’re not picking up the sound from the air.” [embedded content]… Read More →
