Brakence Returns with Ambitious New Album ‘marroW’

After a four-year hiatus, the genre-defying artist Brakence has officially returned with his latest full-length project, marroW, released via Columbia. This 18-track collection serves as the long-awaited follow-up to his 2022 breakout success, hypochondriac, further cementing his status as a pivotal figure in the evolution of hyperpop and modern rock.

The album cycle kicked off with the release of the lead single, “ready or noT,” accompanied by a visually striking music video directed and edited by Quadeca. This collaboration highlights the ambitious creative direction Brakence has taken for this new era of his career.

Brakence releases ‘marroW,’ his first album in four years

marroW continues to showcase the artist’s signature diaristic and confessional songwriting style. While the project remains deeply rooted in the electronic and hyperpop-inflected production that defined his earlier work, it also explores new sonic territories. Tracks like “Problem Child” demonstrate a shift toward a more classic rock-pop sensibility, featuring live drums and infectious, sugary guitar riffs.

The album is currently available to stream across all major platforms. Below is the official tracklist for marroW:
