Dublin-based outfit Gurriers have officially returned with their latest single, ‘Nothing Happens Twice’, offering fans a visceral new preview of their upcoming studio project. The track serves as the third glimpse into their second album, ‘Nobody’s Coming To Save You’, which is slated for release on September 25 via Play It Again Sam.

Drawing inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s seminal 1950s play Waiting For Godot, the band describes the new single as an “absurdist take on the state of the modern world.” The song masterfully weaves together existential dread with the “dead internet” theory, exploring the unsettling notion that our digital landscape is increasingly populated by bots rather than human interaction. It is a sharp, aggressive commentary on political instability and the alienation inherent in the digital age.

A Sonic Statement of Intent

“Nothing ever happens here, nothing happens twice!” frontman Dan Hoff declares in the track’s bruising chorus. His vocal delivery captures a palpable sense of frustration, perfectly mirroring the song’s themes of stagnation and societal decay. The release is accompanied by an eerie, cinematic music video directed by Thomas James, known for his work with artists such as Kneecap, Bring Me The Horizon, and Young Fathers.

“We worked very closely with the lads on this one, shooting in Pierce and Mark’s hometown – turning it into a changeling, psycho fairy trip through grief and ritual,” explained James.

The band has been building significant momentum leading up to their sophomore LP. Following the release of the title track in May and the subsequent single ‘Party Lines’ last month, Gurriers continue to solidify their reputation as one of the most vital voices in the current post-punk landscape. Their debut album, ‘Come And See’, released in 2024, established them as a band with a clear message, and this new material suggests they are doubling down on that intensity.

Earlier this year, they debuted ‘Nothing Happens Twice’ at The Great Escape 2026, where the performance was widely lauded as a standout moment of the festival. With upcoming appearances at major events including Boomtown, Leeds Festival, and Electric Picnic, the group is poised to bring their high-octane sound to audiences across the UK and Europe this autumn.

Beyond the festival circuit, Gurriers have announced an outstore record shop tour across the UK and Ireland, with stops in Dublin, Edinburgh, Dundee, Liverpool, Nottingham, Cardiff, and Oxford.
