Rick Ross Reveals True Nature Of His Beef With 50 Cent In Affidavit

For almost a year, Rick Ross was able to avoid a subpoena from 50 Cent, who needs him to testify in his lawsuit against his former lawyers.

Fif is suing Reed Smith for $32 million because he believes they screwed up his $7 million lawsuit loss to Ross's baby mama Lavonia Leviston, who had sued Fif over leaking her sex tape.

He wanted to depose Ross because an important part of 50's case against Reed is his allegation that they made a pre-trial agreement with Leviston's lawyers that would preclude Ross from testifying.

In March, a judge finally ordered Ross to sit for a deposition in 50's case against Reed.

In Ross's testimony, which leaked this week, he explained that while he viewed his beef with 50 as professional, 50 took it way too personally.

"For years, I have been engaged in what many people in our industry call a ''rap war" or ''beef"' with another hip-hop artist, Curtis Jackson, who is professionally known as "50 Cent," and is the plaintiff in this action.

During and subsequent to the 2009, Curtis and I engaged in this professional rivalry or "beef" in which we tried to humiliate each other, something that is not uncommon between rap artists.  May rap artists use these beefs to generate fan interest and to raise their profile in the music industry.  It could be said that these professional rivalries have become a music industry custom, at least as far as rap or hip-hop is concerned.

Although I have no ill will towards Curtis personally, I believe he truly dislikes me.  Engaging in the beef with him was always supposed to be professional and about business.  Our beef was meant to be fought primarily with words and rap artistry … It is obvious that Curtis and I have had our beef over the years, but enough is enough"

Yesterday, Reed Smith filed a motion to dismiss 50 Cent's malpractice claim and grant them a summary judgment against him.
