Back when things seemed like simpler times, EarthGang offered fans a ray of hope by way of a brand new Spillage Village album, titled Spilligion. And while they didn't give an exact date, it would appear we've reached the rollout stages. Today, EarthGang took to Twitter to preview the project's first single "End Of Days," confirming that it would be arriving in full this Thursday, complete with some visuals.
Image HNHH
The song features contributions from J.I.D, Mereba, EarthGang, JB, and Jordan Bryant, along with production from the stacked collective of Christo, Elite, Mike Dean, Olu, NiceRec, and Jay Card. J.I.D. previously teased the track on his IG Live back in March, revealing a slick verse from Wowgr8. "Before it's all said and done I'ma spend this money," he raps, over the slinking bassline. "Before it's all said and done I'm gon' fuck these hoes / and I ain't pulling out shit but the chopper though, I end the weak like Domingo and Sabado."
Given everything going on in the world right now, the title "End Of Days" feels appropriately spooky. Still, we can't help but take comfort in knowing that Spillage Village is returning to the fold, and a full album from the Atlanta collective should be exactly what the doctor ordered. Look for their new single to arrive by the week's end, and keep an eye out for more news on Spilligion's release date. Are you going to check this one out?
PARTYNEXTDOOR Calls Cap On Frank Ocean & 6LACK’s Streaming Numbers
PARTYNEXTDOOR isn't a fan of the streaming numbers list that DJ Akademiks shared for R&B artists.
PARTYNEXTDOOR just dropped his new album PARTYMOBILE, which marked his official return to the game. He never really dropped off in popularity though. For years, the Toronto native has been one of the most prominent figures in R&B.
When DJ Akademiks took a look into the latest streaming numbers for R&B artists, he was surprised to make a few discoveries. For one, Ak didn't know just how impactful 6LACK has become. Although he didn't make any observations about PARTYNEXTDOOR's placement as sixth on the list, the recording artist caught wind of the numbers and decided to voice his frustration.

Re-posting the numbers with a cap emoji, it looks PND wants a recount. If the statistics are accurate, that would mean that Frank Ocean remains the most popular R&B artist on streaming platforms, despite his musical inactivity in recent years. He is followed directly by 6LACK, Daniel Caesar, Bryson Tiller, and the self-proclaimed king of the genre Jacquees.
PARTYNEXTDOOR clocked in 937 million streams, which is nothing to scoff at. In fact, that's more than most artists will ever see in their lifetime. However, he's not trusting of the source, calling out whoever put the list together and determining it false news.
Do you think PND's numbers are actually higher?
6lack Promises New Music On The Way
6lack promises that he’ll be upping the frequency of his new music, prompting album speculation.
As Spillage Village veteran 6lack has been steadily putting out quality music, the Atlanta singer has been building a gargantuan following in the process. Recent findings by none other than Akademiks put him behind Frank Ocean as the second most-streamed r&b singer in the game. And that’s with two studio albums to his name — his debut Free 6lack and his sophomore drop East Atlanta Love Letter. From the sound of it, 6lack is looking to expand his lead even further, taking to Instagram to promise that some new music is indeed on the way.

“Seems like everybody droppin music except me,” he writes, acknowledging that yes, it’s been a drought on his end. “Turn on your post notifications. it’s new music season.” Of course, it’s presumptuous to expect an entire album — lest we forget that he will be part of the upcoming Spillage Village album SPILLIGION when that drops later this year. Still, the time does feel right for a new collection of 6lack tracks, and his words point to exactly that.
Are you looking forward to a new album from the young singer slash rapper? And if so, do you hope he brings more bars to the mix on this go-around?
Zack Fox, Eric Andre & More Parody Celebrity "Imagine" Cover With "Slob On My Nob"
Zack Fox parodies the viral celebrity "Imagine" cover by tapping Eric Andre, 6lack, Thundercat and more for a take on Three 6 Mafia's "Slob On My Knob."
The onset of self-isolation has brought out some of the best in celebrities, such as Rihanna's $5 million donation to coronavirus relief efforts, and some of the worst in celebrities, such as the highly criticized, tone-deaf "Imagine" cover posted by Gal Gadot. Comedian Zack Fox has now released a celebrity-filled parody of the celebrity-filled cover, as noted by HipHopDX.
View this post on InstagramThe original cover features Gal Gadot, Zöe Kravitz, Will Farrell, Kristin Wiig, Sarah Silverman, Natalie Portman, Amy Adams, Maya Rudolph and Mark Ruffalo and more singing parts of John Lennon's "Imagine" to form a whole song. The video was immediately met with backlash from social media and subsequently went viral.
While the economy withers to the ground, unemployment rises to new levels, and thousands die, we've been gifted a cute video of celebrities singing along in the comfort of their million-dollar homes to save us.
Zack Fox posted a video on Instagram, Friday, saying "There’s a song from my childhood that would always help me out when I would feel that way, and I wanna share it with y’all, and hopefully just help out a little bit. It goes a little something like this.” Fox then precedes to comedically sing Three 6 Mafia’s classic “Slob On My Nob.” Eric Andre, Thundercat, Quinta Brunson, Guapdad 4000, Cool Kids’ Chuck Inglish, Langston Kerman, Jak Knight, Sam Jay, 6lack, Teddy Ray and TisaKorean all join in.

EarthGang & J.I.D. Dropping "Spillage Village" Album Soon
EarthGang, J.I.D, 6LACK, Mereba, Hollywood JB, and JordanxBryant -- aka Spillage Village -- are doing their part to cure the quarantine blues.
Though humanity's battle against Coronavirus has ultimately led to a state of mass self-isolation and quarantine, EarthGang, J.I.D, 6LACK, Hollywood JB, JordanxBryant, and Mereba of Spillage Village have decided to stack the deck in our favor. True, the entire music industry currently rests in an uncertain state; the idea of artists holed up in a studio, using the same microphone one after another hits a little different these days. Yet art must prevail, and the Atlanta Collective has officially announced their new album SPILLIGON is on the way.

EarthGang took to both and Twitter to make the announcement, taking a moment to share a heartfelt message on the former platform. "The quarantine has made it happen," writes EarthGang, putting a positive spin on an otherwise negative situation. "New album coming from the village, are y’all ready for it. Let’s make it happen. Let’s build a stronger community during this time."
Olu & Wowgr8 doubled up by sharing an unreleased track, presumably off the album, which features JID, Mereba, EarthGang, JB, and Jordan Bryant. It's unclear whether it was whipped up in recent times, but the subject matter certainly suggests as much. "It's the end of days, end of times, my oh my," sings Venus, previewed in what looks to be a J.I.D Instagram Live stream. As of yet, none of the participating parties have yet to unveil further release date information. Considering EarthGang's tone, however, it wouldn't be surprising to see SPILLIGION surface sooner than later. Major thanks to the Village for this one!
Ari Lennox Tells R&B Artists To "Keep Killing Sh*t" Amid Debate About Genre
Ari Lennox gives her fellow R&B artists a message of support as people weigh in about the so-called lack of R&B music today.
People continue to weigh in on what's been called the lack of R&B music in the culture at the moment, and artists are a little tired of hearing it. Young M.A ruffled a few feathers when she tweeted, "Music don’t feel the same because we barely have R&B. R&B brung that balance to music.. now everything is leanin one way smh so it gets played out quick! We need R&B for the balance no kap!"
Paras Griffin / Stringer / Getty ImagesDiddy recently took to his Instagram page to share a video of himself talking about how "the world is missing R&B" and that as the "code holder" of the genre, it's up to him to bring it back. Both PJ Morton and 6LACK have responded to these criticisms by saying there are plenty of talented R&B artists out there, it's just up to the public to discover them and for the industry to promote them.
Standing by the side of her fellow artists is the First Lady of Dreamville, Ari Lennox. The soul singer hopped on social media a few minutes ago to share her thoughts about people claiming that good R&B tunes are hard to find. "To all my fellow RnB friends killing sh*t, I love you and we got this," she wrote. "Back in the day people use to judge and hate on the evolution of soul music as well."
"It's a vicious cycle that every generation of artists goes through," Ari added, "Don't be discouraged because real music deserves to be heard. We have angels that love and support and go so hard for us, which is the coolest blessing. What we are doing now may not be fully appreciated or seen due to a sh*t agenda, but it will last forever. Real music is forever." Check out Ari Lennox's post and Diddy's video below.

Dreamville was in the building during last night's EarthGang concert, where the duo brought out J. Cole, J.I.D, and 6LACK.
EarthGang are known for putting on a memorable live show, and last night's Atlanta concert found the duo bringing out J. Cole, J.I.D, and Spillage Village's own 6LACK. A testament to Dreamville's unity, fans were surprised to see J. Cole take the stage in the opening moments of the Welcome To Mirrorland Tour. "Turn the music up," he begins, as the crowd reacts with uproarious applause, before launching into "A Tale Of Two Citiez" off 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
Naturally, having all those Dreamville rappers in one place meant a performance "Down Bad" was inevitable, and fan footage shared on Twitter reveals a spirited rendition of the Grammy Nominated posse cut. 6LACK also got his time to shine with a performance of "Pretty Little Fears;" while the R&B singer isn't an official Dreamville signee, his Spillage Village credentials make him an affiliate through and through.
Following the raucous concert, EarthGang's Olu and Wowgr8 took to Twitter to have a laugh at the changing of the guard. "ShoutOut to the homie @JColeNC for opening up our show last night. Keep doing your thing bruh you gone be big one day." Clearly, EarthGang wanted to close out their Welcome To Mirrorland tour with a bang, and what better way to do that than bring the homies into the fold?
All things considered, Dreamville seems positioned for another major year in 2020, following a 2019 campaign that saw Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 arrive alongside EarthGang's own long-awaited Mirrorland. If you haven't checked that one out yet -- don't sleep, there's still time. Were you lucky enough to catch the homecoming concert in Atlanta?
6lack Responds To Criticism About The Current State Of R&B Music
After artists like Young M.A., Meek Mill, and more complained about the current state of music, 6lack posed a question of his own.
There are a few prominent figures who've aired out their complaints about the current state of music. Meek Mill, for example, hit Twitter to proclaim the death of "wack music" this year, although he didn't mention any names. Young M.A. also had some criticisms about the state of R&B, saying that it isn't bringing balance to music as it once did. "Now everything is leanin one way smh so it gets played out quick," she wrote on Twitter.
This comment may have been the catalyst in a recent video 6lack posted on Twitter where he said that there's too much good music right now to actually be complaining about the current state of rap or R&B. His comments spiraled into a deeper questioning of whether it's the quality of the music or just personal preference.
"There's too much good hip-hop and R&B out here to be complaining about what we don't have. Sayin' that you miss something specific in R&B is the equivalent to saying that you miss substance and bars or whatever in hip-hop," he said. "It's always somebody who do it. The question is -- Do you support 'em?"
The ultimate solution that 6lack had to offer for anyone complaining is to go digging for music they like. There's a lot of it out there.

Summer Walker, H.E.R & 6LACK Bless Our "R&B Season" Playlist With New Tunes
Ease into our Spotify playlist.
A few months back, we started our R&B-centric Spotify playlist, “R&B Season”. HNHH curates a bunch of playlists on various streaming platforms, but they are predominantly focused on hip hop. While it may appear that our expertise lies in hip hop, we are great admirers of R&B. As the border between these two genres becomes increasingly porous, it’s hard to be a fan of one without being a fan of the other. However, the distinction remains important when deciding what vibe you’re going for when you turn to your preferred medium of music consumption. R&B tends to be catered for your more mellow moments and there should be a place for you to comfortably retreat into to enjoy those sounds. That’s why we’ve been putting love and care into building up our “R&B Season” playlist.
2020 is off to a good start in terms of R&B. H.E.R.’s electrifying Grammys performance of a new song, “Sometimes”, was followed by its official release on streaming services. She’s one of our favourites voices in R&B at the moment, so we were quick to add that to our playlist. Another woman breathing new life into the genre is Summer Walker, who earned herself a growing fanbase with her debut album, Over It. This week, she hopped on the remix of Trevor Daniels’ “Falling”, which has enjoyed TikTok virality. Expect to see Walker’s remix of Justin Bieber‘s “Yummy” appear on “R&B Season” after it drops on Monday. Another remix we’re loving is Kaash Paige’s “Love Songs”, which just got a verse added courtesy of 6LACK.

6LACK Teases New Album Coming Out This Year
6LACK is wasting no time in establishing his presence.
Has it really gotten so bad that a year without new music feels like an eternity? I digress, this is the age of instant gratification after all. Though we last heard from 6LACK with 2018's East Atlanta Love Letter, his absence was certainly noted last year, despite turning in an impressive collaboration with Jessie Reyez on "Imported Remix." Things were made all the more enticing after J.I.D. began teasing a full-fledged collaborative project with 6LACK, which reportedly sits in a near-completed state.

Clearly, there's music to be heard. It's only a matter of when. In response, 6LACK took to Twitter to tease his next move, albeit in a cryptic fashion. "New year new album," writes the mysterious singer, neglecting to narrow down his window of specificity. Still, it's good to know his intentions are pure, and it's only a matter of time before the East Atlanta singer (who can rap better than many rappers) begins unveiling his next endeavor.
Be it a collabo with J.I.D. or a solitary affair, are you looking forward to some new 6LACK? Sound off below.
