Allie’s Donuts, a donut shop located in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, is now being fully operated and staffed full-time by owner Matt Drescher after employees began to receive threats following the store’s announcement that they would no longer offer discounts to police officers.
Drescher shared the news in an Instagram video, where he explained he is now the only one working in the store due to concerns for employee safety. He also explained the abusive comments online came after Drescher made it clear he and his business are against police brutality and systemic racism in the criminal justice system. He said, “Due to all of the unfortunate threats that we've gotten and just the climate that it is, a lot of the employees don't feel safe working here right now," he continued, "I respect their choice, and they're safe at home. Nothing has happened to their job. I'm here right now, have the mixes on the table and I'm going to make as many [donuts] as I can."
The police and military discount is just 10 percent, but the firm stance in solidarity with police brutality victims seemed to have upset many customers.
The company had already previously aligned itself with Black Lives Matter activists, writing in an Instagram post, “We're fed up. Until local police take action to solve problems with racism and injustice, Allie's Donuts will choose to stand with the people of our great state."
Tekashi 6ix9ine Trolls Gunna For Snitch Video
Tekashi 6ix9ine says Gunna loves doing donuts because he’s a cop after his alleged snitch video went viral.
Tekashi 6ix9ine has been on a rampage since being released from prison, taking aim at anybody and everybody in an attempt to steal the thunder back. It has worked thus far, resulting in a #3 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with his return single and a couple of broken records on Instagram Live and YouTube.
With an album releasing tonight, Gunna was surprised to see an old video of him go viral again, in which he speaks about his cousin’s murder charge. The rapper has been accused of snitching because of the video and everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) federal informant chimed in with his own take.
Sharing a video of Gunna doing donuts in his whip at the airport, DJ Akademiks probably saw this fate coming for Young Wunna. Tekashi 6ix9ine slid into the comments and did his work, clocking in and pulling troll duties on the YSL Records stand-out.
“Every cop loves donuts,” wrote 6ix9ine.
Is he speaking from experience? As you all know, 6ix9ine is a glorified snitch. He’s seemingly accepting Gunna as a member of the club, which the rapper has also declined an invitation to.
He previously addressed the viral video on The Breakfast Club.
“Man I don’t know what the fuck that’s about, Crime Stoppers what? I ain’t never stopped a crime. Never,” said Gunna. “Yes that’s me, but that wasn’t no Crime Stoppers.”

“Chicken & Donuts is the newest fried chicken trend we’re bringing to all of America,” said KFC U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Zahumensky in a press release. “But not just any donut would do. Only a donut that’s glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time can stand next to our hand-breaded fried chicken. It’s a finger-lickin’ good dish filled with glaze and glory.”
The menu will include three new options: Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts Basket meal; Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts Sandwich; a donut add-on to any meal for an additional cost. The prices of these options will range from $5.49 to $7.99.
In celebration of the new items, KFC is opening a pop-up store in Los Angeles titled "The Colonel's (Chicken &) Donuts Shop," which will open for one day on Saturday, February 22. The first fifty guests will receive free chicken and donuts.
KFC first tested the "Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts" items in 2019 at limited locations.
In other KFC news, earlier this month, the fast-food chain teamed up with Crocs for a new pair of chicken-themed shoes. Check out the crocs, which retail for $59.99 here.
The "Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts" options will be available nationwide through March 16.
"Dilla’s Delights" Donut Shop Is At Risk Of Shutting Down
You can help save Dilla’s Delights.
For hip-hop heads, a donut is no mere pastry. It’s one of the defining instrumental albums of all time, courtesy of the late Detroit legend J. Dilla. So much so that after his passing, Dilla’s uncle Herman “Uncle Herm” Hayes opened up the Dilla’s Delights donut shop in the middle of downtown Detroit. When it first launched in 2016, the people came out in droves to support the business, going so far as to clear out supplies three times in one day. Unfortunately, the beloved shop appears to have fallen on hard times, and currently runs the risk of shutting down entirely.
Hayes went so far as to launch an Indiegogo campaign imploring the people of Detroit to step in. “The cost of transporting product, insurance, rent, and permits for both retail and production locations has taken a toll on our ability to eke out a profit,” explains Hayes, in the fundraiser’s write-up. “I recently battled cancer and I’m currently recovering. Due to my recent surgery, we reduced our hours and closed the shop for more than a month. Some of the immediate contributions I hope to receive here will help with accounts receivable that are behind or past due.”
“The goal of $15,000 will update, repair, and replace equipment used heavily for four years,” he continues. “It will help acquire wholesale vendor contracts, and upgrade to sustainable merchandise. It will aid in our search for a future home, provide project renderings, and secure the legal aid needed to move forward with ease.” As of now, the Indiegogo fundraiser for Dilla’s Delights sits at $11,529, a few grand short of the ultimate goal. Should you be interested in showing support for Dilla’s family and legacy, be sure to check out Hayes’ Indiegogo page right here. Rest in peace, Dilla.
