Popeyes really got all the free promo when they released their much-talked about chicken sandwich. For whatever case, the world was all too excited to try the sandwich, and with social media helping keep the sandwich in constant conversation, it meant that it was sold out almost immediately when it first debuted.
Well, it seems like KFC wants a piece of the chicken sandwich action, and really, why shouldn't they? The fast food restaurant is, after all, also all about fried chicken. Lo and behold: the "KFC Chicken Sandwich." A name that tells you exactly what it is.
Andrea Zahumensky, KFC's chief marketing officer, says this new chicken sandwich "boasts an upgrade of every single component" from their last sandwich debut, the "Crisp Colonel."
Apparently, it took a year to perfect their chicken sandwich, and now they're finally ready to let the world have a bite. The sandwich is debuting at certain locations in Orlando, Florida for a trial period, while there are plans to roll it out at more than 4,000 KFC locations if all goes well.
Wendy’s Locations Aren’t Serving Burgers Due To Meat Shortage
The national meat shortage has hit Wendy's.
You know it's a big deal when a massive chain like Wendy's is feeling it. Wendy's is in the news today, and it's not because of a snarky or clever reply the brand doled out to McDonalds on social media-- although nine times out of ten, that would be the reason. No, today it's because of the Coronavirus pandemic aftermath. Namely, a meat supply shortage.
Photos have been popping up across the internet, showing that certain Wendy's locations are no longer serving burgers due to a lack of beef patties, while other locations are limiting the amount of patties you can get with any given meal-- no more two or three-burger patties.
Wendy's has since issued a statement on the matter, saying, "We’re working diligently to minimize the impact to our customers and restaurants, and continue to work with our supplier partners to monitor this closely."
Have you guys noticed any beef shortage popping near you? Let us know in the comments.
Stay safe out there.

McDonald’s Offers Free Egg McMuffins To Distract From Wendy’s New Breakfast

In celebration, patrons who arrive between 6 and 10:30 AM local time Monday will receive a free Egg McMuffin with no purchase necessary. The only caveat is that you will need to download the McDonald’s app.
“While we’re giving the Egg McMuffin its moment, we’re really honoring our breakfast fans who have woken up with McDonald’s breakfast for nearly 50 years,” David Tovar, McDonald’s vice president of U.S. communications, said in a statement. “And we just thought, ‘hey, why not declare March 2 as National Egg McMuffin Day?’”
The announcement comes perfectly timed to combat Wendy’s new breakfast menu which debuts on Monday, March 2 as well.
“Since everybody knows there’s a new entrant coming into the breakfast daypart, we would have expected it to be highly competitive, and that’s what we’re seeing,” Wendy’s CEO Todd Penegor said in a conference call on Feb. 26, according to AdAge.
“We believe this product easily goes head to head versus the competition and is far greater in terms of the overall flavor profile,” Wendy’s Chief Marketing Officer Carl Loredo said regarding the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit sandwich at a press event earlier this month.
Other new additions to the Wendy’s menu include the Breakfast Baconator and the Frosty-ccino.
Kim Kardashian & Kanye West KFC Kiosk Immortalized With Plaque
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are immortalized at a KFC restaurant in Paris.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were recently seen hanging around in Paris enjoying some time together. The couple was on their way to Jean Paul Gaultier but first stopped at KFC to fulfill their hunger requests.
Kim captured the entire moment. Kim shared a video on her Instagram story showing both her and Kanye ordering from a touch screen machine at KFC. Moments later Kim shared a picture of her posing in the mirror and Kanye on a fancy bench chomping down a bucket of chicken.

It appears when Kim captured the moment, it went viral and fans rushed to the KFC to see the celebrity couple. The next day, KFC France shared with a tweet the moment the couple ordered from their Strasbourg St. Denis branch alongside a picture of a custom made bucket with Kanye’s lyrics from his song “Take The Sky.” Not only did the couple receive a custom branded bucket, but they also received a plaque on the exact machine they ordered from for future customers to see when they walk in. The plaque reads, “Kim Kardashian and Kanye West ordered at this station” in English, according to a Kanye fan page on Instagram.
KFC is not only handing out plaques but they will soon come out with a chicken sandwich with donut glazed buns in March.

“Chicken & Donuts is the newest fried chicken trend we’re bringing to all of America,” said KFC U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Zahumensky in a press release. “But not just any donut would do. Only a donut that’s glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time can stand next to our hand-breaded fried chicken. It’s a finger-lickin’ good dish filled with glaze and glory.”
The menu will include three new options: Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts Basket meal; Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts Sandwich; a donut add-on to any meal for an additional cost. The prices of these options will range from $5.49 to $7.99.

KFC & Pizza Hut Join Forces To Concoct "Popcorn Chicken Pizza"
Just in time for National Pizza Day.
Finger-lickin' chicken joint KFC has called on Pizza Hut for the crossover of the century: "The KFC Popcorn Chicken Pizza." The fast food chains are pulling out all the stops to celebrate National Pizza Day on February 9th in the U.K., by combining all the elements that make both of their signature dishes so popular. Pizza Hut’s crispy pan-style crust base is drizzled with KFC’s classic gravy, coated in mozzarella cheese, topped with sweet corn and, of course, we can't forget the pieces of Popcorn Chicken. After Pizza Hut teased the collaboration in a tweet last week, both fast food companies took to Twitter to make the official announcement.
Earlier this month, KFC announced the soft launch of a new plant-based meat menu option called Beyond Fried Chicken. This option will be available at 100 select locations across North Carolina for a limited time from February 3rd-23rd. The launch is their way of testing the success of offering plant-based alternatives to their famous fried chicken.
McDonald’s Is Adding Fried Chicken Sandwiches To Their Breakfast Menu
The fried chicken wars have just begun.
Over the past several months, the world has never seen such extreme displays of violence and debauchery of over a fast food item like the recently released, Popeye’s chicken sandwich. However, if there is one fast-food chain on the planet that can compete with the highly sought-after sandwich it’s none other than the world’s most prominent fast-food restaurant, McDonald’s. Back in Oct. 2018, the Business Insider obtained leaked documents stating that McDonald’s claiming that they were preparing to introduce two new chicken sandwiches to their breakfast menu.

Inquiring minds at the publication contacted the mega-food company wondering if these plans were true to which a McDonald’s executive cryptically replied,
“What came first, the chicken or the egg? Set your alarm for more reasons to visit McDonald’s for breakfast in 2020.”
Now, starting on Monday (Feb. 3), all McDonald’s locations be serving the Chicken McGriddle and McChicken Biscuit sandwiches to customers across the country. The new menu items will be fusing the classic, crispy chicken patty of the McChicken in combination with the brand’s Bacon/Sausage, Egg, and Cheese biscuit or the McGriddle pancake batter bun.
Former McDonald’s CEO, Steve Easterbrook, who is no longer with the company after allegedly fraternizing with an employee, revealed in a statement last year that McDonald’s wanted to explore extra avenues in the highly-competitive fast-food breakfast industry saying,
“I mean, we’ve seen competitors ramp up their activity during this year as well actually. So having another entrant in next year will just ensure that the market share fight remains as competitive as ever.”
While McDonald’s has had its issues in the past, they’ve continued to be one of the most consistent brands in modern history. Let us know if you’ll be trying out McDonald’s new Chicken McGriddle and McChicken Biscuit breakfast sandwiches in the comment section below.
Jonathan "Foodgod" Cheban In Midst Of Shady Burger Restaurant Scam
Foodgod Caught up in Burger Joint’s Downfall
He may only answer to the name “Foodgod,” but Jonathan Cheban, the Russian-born TV personality and entrepreneur-turned-foodie, is having a not-so-heavenly experience as the face of the popular burger joint Burgerim. The company has gone belly-up, its Israeli owner has fled the country, employees haven’t been paid in months and thousands of investors have lost tens of thousands of dollars.
Best known for his close relationship with the Kardashian family and appearances on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Foodgod became the official spokesperson of Burgerim last year, posting rave reviews of the patties on social media.

“HOLY BURGERS! I love this spot @officialburgerim,” he tweeted. As part of his advertising campaign, the foodie fanatic even took Kim Kardashian to the chain’s Woodland Hills, Calif., location, which drew a rapturous review from the mega star.
However, as of this week, Burgerim, whose catchphrase is, “the fastest growing burger chain in the U.S.,” may well prove to be the fastest declining burger chain in the U.S. after reports surfaced that the chain had been overly aggressive in its franchising efforts. According to a report in Restaurant Business, Burgerim solicited some 1,200 people “inexperienced in restaurants or franchising—teachers, cooks, accountants, police officers, engineers, war veterans and real estate professionals, many of whom drained savings accounts and retirement accounts to pay their fee, all hoping for a piece of the American dream.” The article also cites that the company went from owning one location in 2016 to over 200 by 2019 and launched a social media campaign to find investors. On Facebook, a post appeared on their page, which stated, in all caps “NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY” and that those interested needed only $50,000 to open a restaurant.
Foodgod has officially cut ties with Burgerim and slapped the burger joint with a legal suit looking to reclaim funds owed to him and requesting that it ceases to use his image for advertising purposes.
Taco Bell Ups The Salary To $100,000 At Select Locations
Taco Bell, y’all hiring?
With the economy in good standing at the moment, Taco Bell is attempting to change the culture and mindset of employment in the fast-food industry. In an announcement yesterday, Taco Bell released a statement revealing that they will be increasing the base annual salary for their general manager employees to $100,000 at select locations in the Midwest and Northeast region of the country.
With the current annual salary for the general manager position ranging from $50,000 to $80,000/per year, some of their employees will be doubling their income this new year. However, this isn’t the only improvement Taco Bell has committed to improving within their work environments. The Mexican-inspired fast-food chain will also provide at least 24 hours of paid sick leave per year for their employees beginning Jan. 1, and will also be experimenting with new roles for employees who want to gain leadership experience but don’t want to the title of becoming an official manager.
Taco Bell’s commitment to their improvements come in response to the low unemployment rate. According to the BloombergQuint, unemployment fell to 3.5%, the lowest its been since 1969.
With Taco Bell also offering vegetarian menu items, giving out free tacos, and utilizing sustainable and recyclable packaging, is it time to ask if Taco Bell is hiring?
