Last week was the two-year anniversary of Gunna's mixtape, Drip Season 3. To celebrate, the YSL rapper posted the project's cover art on Instagram and asked his fans a question: "Should I drop DS4 or DOD3 next ?? OR ??" The second acronym refers to his Drip or Drown series, the sequel of which was released last year. 21 Savage and many others in the comments section of Gunna's post voted in favor of the third alternative, namely the alternative that calls for another alternative. "BOTH," they requested.
Gunna hasn't shared any updates regarding which project he plans to share next or whether he will heed the call for two at once, but he's ready to get the ball rolling on releasing new music. On Sunday, he posted a mirror selfie - dripping in a purple Bape sweatsuit - and wrote in the caption that he's "dropping something next week." We know WUNNA isn't prepping a mere loosie though because he also tweeted "only thing I’m crazy about this Album rite now." Whichever drip-centric album he wishes to lead with, we're ready for it... and praying that it includes a collaboration with Solange.
Lil Baby recently confirmed that Gunna will be featured on his sophomore album, My Turn, which arrives on February 28.
Tory Lanez Is Already Teasing "The New Toronto 3"
Tory Lanez is Toronto’s most prolific.
Tory Lanez has been moving at a breakneck pace. Mere months removed from the release of his throwback tape Chixtape 5, Tory Lanez has already begun teasing the arrival of his next project. Once again, the Canadian rapper appears to be revisiting an ongoing series, this time the more-rap focused The New Toronto. Taking to Instagram, Lanez emphatically kicked off the hype train, captioning a Twitter post with the simple yet effective: “THE NEW TORONTO 3 ?!?!????!?????????”

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images
It’s entirely possible we’ve already seen a few glimpses at the upcoming drop, which may or may not be inspired by the resurgence of drill music. Especially given the vibes of his latest singles “Broke In A Minute” and “K Lo K,” which features Fivio Foreign with the assist. I’s never easy to tell with Tory, who seems to fling himself headfirst into artistic whims if and when they strike. For all we know, he’s simultaneously juggling another New Toronto, a new solo album, and a sixth chapter of The Chixtape series.
Still, a gambler might look to New Toronto 3 being next up on Tory’s itinerary, in light of recent revelations. Are you excited to see whatever he’s whipping up, or is his unrelenting pace leaving cause for concern?
"Power’s" Naturi Naughton & Omarion Tease New Music Collaboration
Naturi Naughton & Omarion might have some new music on the way.
With Power officially coming to an end this weekend, a conversation needs to be had about the impact the gangster-drama had on the culture over the past half-decade. The death of Ghost St. Patrick’s daughter, Raina, the murder of LaLa Anthony’s character, LaKeisha, and the antics surrounding who killed Ghost has provided the masses with genuinely compelling and sometimes hilarious television content that will be talked about for years to come. However, as the production comes to its conclusion, the show’s actors are left with the reality that they are officially unemployed and have to pursue their next venture. Naturi Naughton, who plays Tasha St. Patrick’s character on Power appears to have her next opportunity lined up heading back into the music realm as she recently posted a photo of herself and Omarion on Instagram hinting at a possible upcoming music collaboration.
During her stint in the R&B girl group, 3LW, Naughton contributed to multi-platinum hits like “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right),” and “Playas Gon’ Play,” while also collaborating with artists such as Beyonce, Usher, Luther Vandross, and more. Naughton obviously has the talent, vocal range, and aesthetic to become one of the newest power players in today’s R&B scene and a collaboration with the extremely unbothered Omarion can possibly propel the singer turned actress up the Billboard charts.
In the photo posted on her Instagram, Naughton and Omarion blissfully sit side-by-side as it’s captioned:
“We STILL HERE! #2020 it’s on! Me + @omarion + @ehudsonmusic + ezra__xx = (fire) #NaturiMusic #Omarion #3LW #B2K#20yearsinthegame #theyaintready #blessed.
While the Notorious actress didn’t exactly roll out a single name or project release date, there’s a good chance she and the former B2K frontman do have some listen-worthy music currently in the works. Check out Naturi Naughton’s Instagram post below and tune into the series finale of Power tonight at 8 P.M. EST on Starz.
DJ Premier Shares Unreleased Guru Freestyle
DJ Premier is still holding it down for his brother, Guru.
There is only one, Keith Edward Elam, AKA, Gifted Rapping Unusual Rhymes, better know simply as Guru. The Boston-bred emcee originally conceptualized the collective known as Gang Starr alongside DJ 1 2 B-Down and a group of producers before leaving the co-op and teaming up with DJ Premier. The “Mass Appeal” rapper recruited the now-world renowned producer after receiving an instrumental tape from the Houston-based disc jockey and created one of the most notorious hip-hop group legacies in the culture’s history. Now, following the death of the legendary rapper, DJ Premier has helped conduct the release of Gang Starr’s seventh and final album, One of the Best Yet (2019). And in commemoration of his friend and collaborator, DJ Premier debuted unreleased footage of the hip-hop pioneer freestyling early this weekend.

During the short clip, Guru can be seen in the zone as he aggressively delivers his bars flawlessly, stating:
“Don’t base my whole life on loot
But money sure helps, I keep it tight like army boots
To ensure wealth, I used to hang with the older dudes
So I know the rules, notice how these fools talk mics but can’t hold the tools
My struggle is hard, the jungle is large
My man’s locked in the belly, probably walking the yard
I meet suckas every day that rhyme, they say they rhyme
Most of them are corny as hell won’t get paid a dime”
Ultimately, part of this freestyle ended up on songs like “Where’s Our Money?” and “Bring It Back Here.” Guru’s white Kangol golf fitted and blue-tinted glasses are a permanent aesthetic in the hip-hop realm alongside his classic vibrations. Check out the Jazzmatazz curator’s secret file freestyle below and listen to Gang Starr’s final album, One of the Best Yet, here.
Rihanna On The Wait For Her Album: "I Like To Antagonize My Fans"
Rihanna shares update on her album.
Rihanna is having fun with the delayed arrival of her ninth studio album. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight while at the launch event for her Fenty 2-20 Collection, RiRi once more opted not to deliver on much detail about the arrival of her new project. However, she did lightly discuss the reasoning behind the wait.
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images
“Dot, dot, dot. To be continued,” she told the outlet when asked about the whereabouts of the project. “I like to antagonize my fans a little bit. Well, they antagonize me, too! So, they get it right back.”
The last time we got a full-length album from Rihanna was with 2016’s Anti project. Since then it’s been a slow and painful road toward its follow up. Within the past few months, the wait has transformed itself into a running joke with the Navy being left in an impatient flurry. The new effort was originally anticipated for a late 2019 release, but as Rihanna continues to tend to other ventures, there’s no telling just when the reggae output will arrive.
“It’s a lot of hard work and just being true to your brand,” she added in the same discussion. “I’ve always tried to stick with things that I enjoy doing and that I’m passionate about. Fashion, being creative, that’s one of those things — it doesn’t matter the outlet, I always enjoy it.”
Nicki Minaj, Pop Smoke & Denzel Curry Heat Up Our "Fire Emoji" Playlist
“FIRE EMOJI” has you covered with the best releases of the week.
Last week, in the realm of hip hop releases, we were able to dedicate most of our focus to Lil Wayne‘s album, Funeral, as it was a week otherwise filled with new singles. This week, that is not the case. We got blessed with a bunch of great projects and we’re thrilled to add some of their hottest cuts to our Spotify playlist, “FIRE EMOJI”.
Pop Smoke is one of the most buzzing rappers in the game right now, so it was an ideal time for him to follow last July’s Meet The Woo EP with a full-length sequel. Meet The Woo 2 boasts thirteen tracks and a bunch of features. Pop Smoke enlisted fellow up-and-comers like Fivio Foreign and Lil Tjay for earthquake-inducing bangers, but he also collaborates with heavy-hitter Quavo to “Shake The Room”. The beat was too crazy on that one to not include it in our playlist.

While we knew Meet The Woo 2 was coming, Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats caught us by surprise on Friday with their collaborative project, UNLOCKED. The rapturous tracks came accompanied by an animated short film that you must see and may have raised the bar for creative rollouts in 2020. Kenny Beats, whose producer tag is ubiquitous these days, furnishes the Miami rapper with ferocious beats that match his uncontainable energy. “DIET_” is a perfect example that these two pair perfectly.
Last but not least, we have a single for you. Not just any single, but a Nicki Minaj single. The queen herself came out of semi-retirement this week to drop off “Yikes”, a song title that is fitting given the scandalous week she had, but we’re not gonna get into that now. This is about “Yikes”, a searing assertion that Onika cannot be played with. God bless The Barbz for bullying her into completing and releasing the track this week.

Meek Mill Gives Status Update On Nipsey Hussle Collabo Album
This one is out of Meek Mill's hands.
A rapper's passing is a tragic affair, and the game still mourns slain West Coast legend Nipsey Hussle. Though he left behind a strong mixtape catalog, Victory Lap served as his lone studio album; his magnum opus, as fate would have it. Yet Nipsey was a worker and his outlook on music was no different. Before his passing, Nip was in the process of crafting a collaborative tape with Meek Mill. Unfortunately, his plans to release that in the summer of 2019 were shattered upon his murder.

Since then, little has been known about Nipsey's posthumous catalog. The very topic is a sensitive one, with decisions often being left to the estate. One fan took to Twitter to ask Meek Mill about the album's status during an impromptu "Ask Meek" session, following the release of his own new single "Believe."
"We never finished it," confirms Meek. "It’s songs left but they for his family!" A bittersweet response, but an understandable one. Perhaps the time will come for the world to hear what Nip and Meek were cooking up. Perhaps not. Either way, Nipsey's memory will live on. Rest in peace.
Meek Mill Promises Return To "Ignorant Street" Music
Meek Mill is ready to get back on his bull.
Meek Mill is in an interesting place, musically speaking. The product of an unapologetic upbringing in the Philadelphia slums, Meek’s formative music was intrinsically tied to the street lifestyle. As his status grew, Meek found himself facing adversity from unexpected corners. Following a publicized imprisonment over a trumped-up parole violation, the rapper found himself turning to activism, an authoritative voice on racial injustice and prison reform. Naturally, his music has been affected with his new single “Believe” being designed for “motivational purposes only.”

Though the powerful Justin Timberlake-assisted track has been well received thus far, there are some who hope to see Meek back on his BS sooner rather than later. The rapper himself is more than willing to acquiesce, man of the people that he is. “That ignorant street coming next,” he vows on Instagram, leaving us wondering whether we’re in the midst of a full-blown album rollout. If so, it’s likely we can expect Meek’s most balanced album yet. At once socially consious and streets-friendly, navigating both territories with authenticity and integrity.
Which side of Meek Mill do you prefer? And how you do feel about “Believe?” Sound off in the comments below.
Justin Bieber "Changes" Will Feature Post Malone, Travis Scott, Quavo, & More
Justin Bieber revealed the full tracklist for his new album.
In a matter of days, Justin Bieber will officially be ending his long-standing musical hiatus, releasing his first new album in over four years. A couple of singles have been released to promote the upcoming body of work, including the high-charting “Yummy,” and now, Bieber is revealing his entire tracklist, including all of the featured artists expected on Changes.

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images
Revealing that his new album will be out on February 14, the Canadian pop star let us all in on one of the final secrets he was keeping about Changes: its tracklist. Uploading a scrolling video to his social media pages, Justin Bieber went through the seventeen songs he will be adding to the project. As previously confirmed to us by Clever during our interview with the rising Alabama rapper, he finds placement with Post Malone on “Forever” while Quavo, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Travis Scott, and Lil Dicky also grace the liner credits.
Justin Bieber is expected to make a big splash with this album, which makes sense because of how long it’s taken for him to actually deliver it. Supplementing Changes, Bieber’s Seasons documentary has been detailing what the star has been up to for the last four years, including his struggles with his health, drug abuse, and more.
Who’s excited for new Biebs?
Meek Mill Teases The Arrival Of "Dreamchasers 5": "Ima Prove Myself Again"
New Meek on the way?
Meek Mill's had a hell of a run in 2019. With the release of Championships, he made major plays in both the corporate offices and musically. The rapper has been teasing new music since the album's release including a new Dreamchasers project and a summer pack that never arrived. Perhaps Meek might be blessing us with some more new music soon but it's clear that he's getting ready to challenge himself on his upcoming effort.

Kevin Winter/Getty Images
As Meek Mill continues to keep fans waiting for a new album, he gave his fans some hope that it might be coming soon. He didn't mention any sort of release date but he did reveal his mindstate entering the booth these days. "1 album way from really shaking shit up .... and ima prove myself again!" He wrote. While fans began to speculate when we could expect the album, one fan asked if it was going to be DC5. With a slew of trophy emojis, the rapper simply replied, "U think?"
Meek recently released his single, "Letter To Nipsey" ft. Roddy Ricch which he debuted at the Grammys for Nipsey's tribute performance. It's unclear if that will be a single off of Dreamchasers 5.
Last summer, the rapper announced that he was teaming up with Jay-Z and Roc Nation for his new venture with Dream Chasers. Peep the tweets below.
