The Golden Globes are a night for you to cheer on your favorite films of the year, curse your TV when they're snubbed and harshly judge celebrities' looks on the red carpet. At last night's 2020 ceremony, Gwenyth Paltrow was subjected to an especially harsh judgement for her outfit choice. With Twitter, the masses have been given a platform to broadcast their fashion takes, opposed to them being confined to the walls of their living rooms. If you search Gwenyth Paltrow's name on Twitter today, you'll find a slew of negative reactions to the dress she wore to the Globes.

Paltrow wore a gown made of brown, sheer tulle from the Fendi pre-fall 2020. Many are referring to it as a "naked" dress, since the actress' torso and legs can be seen through the transparent material. The color of the dress made it easy for critics to discredit it by comparing it to poop. People also riffed on Paltrow's wellness empire, Goop, while expressing their distaste for her attire. “And i gOOP-“ was one witty response. Paltrow's contribution to the world of film last year was her appearance in Avengers: Endgame as Pepper Potts.

It’s always nice to see some good old fashioned romance in hip-hop. After all, celebrities have a hard time maintaining relationships in the best of times. Whether it’s the constant temptation or the whirlwind schedules, many famous names and faces have seen their unions crumble before that all-important three-year milestone. For those who do manage to overcome the challenges, the end results are all-the-more important. One such couple is Fabolous and Emily B, who have managed to overcome a widely publicized incident and emerge on the other side.

Following the release of Summertime Shootout 3, Fabolous has been more vocal in flaunting his lovesick ways, flooding his Instagram page with coupled-up shots. It got so frequent that Jim Jones took it upon himself to mischievously troll the couple. “I’m sick of yal lol,” he tearfully comments, alongside a pic of Fab and Emily’s intimate New Year’s Eve bender. “Very fly.”

It’s clear that Jones harbors no ill-will to the couple; he’s somewhat of a romantic himself, having been with his girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin for over fifteen years now. In spite of Jones’ trollish commentary, wean expect Fab will continue to keep the pictures coming, social media timeline etiquette be damned. Shout out to all of you hopeless romantics out there.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wild Card round, on Saturday. The loss was unexpected for many Pats fans although this writer predicted the Titans would win and guess what, they did. While I’m sure none of you reading this care to give me my flowers, it’s important to document what this loss means for the Patriots moving forward.

Brady will officially be a free agent this offseason which means both parties have big decisions to make. the six-time Super Bowl champion has made it clear that he wants to keep playing although it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll do so with the Patriots. Patriots owner Robert Kraft is well-aware of Brady’s upcoming decision and recently spoke out about it.

“Before the season started it was very important to Tom that he be free to do whatever he wanted at the end of the year,” Kraft said  Peter King of NBC Football Morning in America. “You know what I said to myself? That any person who plays 20 years for this team and helps us get to six Super Bowls, and been really selfless, has earned that right. I love the young man like he’s part of my family. Blood family. Anyone who’s done that has earned the right to control his future after 20 years. And you know, my hope and prayer is number one, he play for the Patriots. Or number two, he retires. He has the freedom to decide what he wants to do and what’s in his own best personal interest.”

If you’re a Patriots fan, this is a nervewracking time. The team has been dominant for 20 years and when Brady leaves, there will be a huge hole that needs to be filled. Overall, this could be the most important offseason in the history of the franchise.

Antonio Brown has been quite the newsmaker these past few months and as we head into 2020, it doesn't seem like that's going to change. This past weekend, Brown was enjoying the NFL playoffs from the comfort of his home, just like the rest of his fans were. In the past twelve months, Brown has played for three different teams, including the New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers and Raiders were eliminated from playoff contention, last weekend. Meanwhile, the Patriots lost to the Tennessee Titans, 20-13. 

The playoffs were even more bittersweet for AB as both the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints lost. Of course, AB tried out for the Saints a couple of weeks ago and last year, there was an early report that said the Steelers had traded Brown to the Bills. These losses lead some to theorize that AB has put a curse on his former teams. Clearly Brown was a fan of these theories as he shared them on social media.

The first few weeks of the new year can often be dry in terms of music releases. People are laying low after the holidays and artists allow things to simmer down before they started flooding their fans with new material. Everyone wants a fresh restart and when you drop right at the top of the new year, it can become entangled with the prior year’s timeline. That’s why a gap in music releases could be beneficial for both the artist and consumer. That being said, there weren’t that many new songs for us to add to our “FIRE EMOJI” playlist this week. However, we certainly appreciate all the artists that came out the gates swinging and ready to conquer this decade. 

It comes as no surprise that Mick Jenkins is among this faction, as he has quietly been one of the hardest working rappers since he stepped on the scene. The Chicago native has been acclaimed for his lyrical prowess and has established a loyal fanbase on the fringes. He keeps these fans steadily fed with loosies, mixtapes and albums. He continues this habit this week by dropping “Carefree”, the first single off his album Circus, which arrives next week. Mick spits over a dreamy, sputtering beat from Detroit producer, Black Milk. 

Some more characters that will remain prominent in 2020 are Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby and Tay Keith. These three joined forces to gift us with “U Played”, which is easily the hardest hitting track among this week’s “FIRE EMOJI” additions. To quote Drake, Tay Keith’s beat was definitely too hard. 

Last, but not least, we have a new song from Quando Rondo, featuring A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and 2 Chainz. In case you weren’t sold that he’s going to be a force in 2020, he came through to prove it. He impressed many with From The Neighborhood To The Stage and he’s been keeping that momentum going with a string of singles. 

These new tracks have us optimistic about the state of hip hop in 2020. You expecting good things?

New Orleans Saints fans were absolutely crushed yesterday as their beloved team lost to the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round. The Vikings came in as the sixth seed while the Saints were a highly favored 13-3 third seed. Regardless, the Vikings were able to pull off the win as Kirk Cousins connected with Kyle Rudolph in overtime to win the game, 26-20. Saints players and fans were upset by the play as it appeared as though Rudolph committed offensive pass interference. In the end, no penalty was called and the Vikings won the game.

Travis Scott and Nike have several different sneaker collabs on the way this year, including a "Jackboys" Nike SB Dunk Low and a special edition Nike Air Max 270 React. The latter is reportedly on track to drop in March in a “Light Cream/Starfish-Dark Hazel” color scheme priced at $190.

The Nike Air Max 270 React combines Nike’s first lifestyle Air unit, the 270, with the brand’s softest, smoothest and most resilient foam, Nike React, to form a new articulation of Air Max. La Flame's edition also comes equipped with fleece detailing, a colorful lace toggle, and Cactus Jack branding on the heel tab and insole.

A specific release date has not yet been announced but it is believed that the kicks will be available in men's, pre-school and toddler sizes for $190, $130 and $90, respectively. That said, images of the kid's pairs have not yet surfaced. Stay tuned for the official announcement. 

Los Angeles Clippers All Star Paul George debuted his Nike PG4 signature sneaker on Sunday at Staples Center, as the Clippers picked up a 135-132 victory over the New York Knicks. Prior to tipoff, Nike dropped off official images of the PG4 along with news that the kicks will be arriving at retailers in a black & white colorway on January 24.

That said, it doesn't seem like sneakerheads are too eager to get their hands on George's fourth signature sneaker.

According to Nike, the PG4 comes equipped with a full-length Nike Air unit that has been sewn onto the upper so that your foot sits directly atop the cushioning.

Per Nike:

A semi-transparent, mesh-zippered shroud fastens over the laces — a first in the Paul George line. It's reminiscent of a classic look, pioneered by the Air Flight ’98, and provides a snug fit, revealing the gill-like speed lacing system underneath. For the PG4, the shroud provides a level of stylistic flexibility — laces can be worn within it or worn externally thanks to two lace holes near the shoe’s collar. Plus, the shroud allows for a bit of color dynamism, says Hardman.
