Drake has established a small chunk of Toronto's current slang rotation. The terms that he has not created are carefully fixed into his vocabulary. Being a wordsmith, the rapper is always looking for new slang words to pop off and it looks like he's just found a new one.
Updating his Instagram Story, the King of the Six went and adopted a brand new phrase that may pop up in one of his upcoming singles.

"The English language has about 3,000 words to describe the state of being drunk. One of which is 'ramsquaddled,'" wrote the Uber Facts page on Twitter. A Toronto native prayed that the term never makes it to his hometown, noting that mans would definitely run with it hard.
"Don't let Toronto mans get a hold of this word," he wrote.
The exchange made it to Drake's page, who clearly feels the same way about "ramsquaddled" being the most Toronto word ever. Seriously, we can already see this becoming a huge thing in the city.
Drake recently made several appearances on Jay-Z's list of his favorite songs of the year so far. He is also currently still pushing his new mixtape, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which remains in high charting position.
Do you think Drake is about to inadvertently make "ramsquaddled" a thing?
Dr. Dre Shows Off Kobe Bryant Tribute Painting
Dr. Dre poses with his newly-acquired Kobe Bryant painting.
One of the West Coast’s biggest rap legends of all time, Dr. Dre doesn’t need to do much to cement his legacy further. He’s already touted as one of the greatest to ever do it, having worked with some of the biggest stars over the years. Entire movies have been made about him and countless artists list him as an influence in their own careers.
In the basketball world, Kobe Bryant built his legacy in Los Angeles as a member of the Lakers. While his story was different from Dr. Dre’s you could easily understand why Dre had so much respect for the all-time great. Bryant and Dre both excelled in their fields, rising above all competition and becoming legends.
In order to celebrate the life and legacy of the great Kobe Bryant, Dr. Dre hung up a stunning painting of the late talent in his home.

Hoodrich Pablo Juan Announces "Hood Champ" Album
Hoodrich Pablo Juan reveals a new album is dropping on Friday.
Hoodrich Pablo Juan surprised fans with an announcement for a new album, arriving at the end of the week on Friday, May 22. The rapper took to Instagram to unveil the album cover for the new project, Hood Champ, claiming the new music would be for his fans just as much as haters.
Last time we heard from the Atlanta underdog it was when he dropped off his DMV project in November 2019, which featured Gucci Mane and Wiz Khalifa. As far as Hood Champ goes, Hoodrich hasn’t revealed anything aside from the cover art and release date. However he did tease a snippet of music in one of his IG videos, which is enough to get fans excited. The song’s production is wavy, with an electronic sound weaving it’s way in the background, while Hoodrich raps: “They can’t see me through the tint, my bitch get wet, my pockets are dense.”
Check out the preview below and check back with us on Friday for the full stream of Hood Champ.
50 Cent Reacts To Mural Artist Getting Beat Up
50 Cent denies responsibility after Australian mural artist Lushsux is attacked and hospitalized.
Murals have been popping up all over Australia for the last several months, depicting 50 Cent as other celebrities. Muralist Lushsux, who describes himself as a 50 Cent stan account, has shared photos of his countless artworks showing the rapper as Tekashi 6ix9ine, Mike Pence, Mike Tyson, and others.
As weeks fly by, 50 Cent has expressed his anger at the situation, demanding that the artist cease producing any representations of his likeness on the street. Lushsux refuses to stop though and it looks like things finally caught up to him.
“This guy needs an ass whoopin bad, he still doing this shit,” wrote Fiddy about the artist. Apparently, people took his directions to heart and attacked Lushsux in the street, leaving him in the hospital.

‘Unfortunately some 6 or 7 smoothebrains at one time on the street already put me in hospital already this month because of this shit,” he revealed.
Hearing about the assault, Fif denied responsibility and issued his official response.
“The artist got [punched] in the [face] that wasn’t me i didn’t do that,” says the rapper on his latest post.
He may not be claiming responsibility for the attack but he did say, numerous times at that, that the artist should get what’s coming to him. Do you think he’s to blame?
The Art Of Storytelling, With A Twist
Immortal Technique and Jay-Z both delivered two of hip-hop’s most memorable twists in “Dance With The Devil” and “Meet The Parents” respectively.
Imagine, if you will, that Ice Cube did indeed have to use his AK on “Today Was A Good Day.” Perhaps in another universe, he might have succumbed to his violent urges and knocked the entire plan askew. It wouldn’t be the first time a rapper allowed his tale to take a dark turn. In fact, some seem to relish taking listeners on an emotional roller coaster, plummeting headlong into discomforting territory. It’s not entirely unexpected. Writers have long enjoyed disturbing those who engage with their work. Sometimes it’s through means of the supernatural. Other times, especially in hip-hop, it’s through examinations of the human condition. Those sorts of stories, especially when given enough room to breathe and develop, are often the ones that leave a lasting impression.
For many rappers, a story is only as effective as its climactic moments. Consider those famous films that have come to be remembered by their iconic twists. The Usual Suspects. The Sixth Sense. Oldboy. When the ghastly truth is revealed, not only is a viewer shocked by the revelation, but equally curious. More often than not, the second viewing is even more rewarding, as one can completely recontextualize the story — all while gaining a deeper understanding of the writer’s true vision. The same can be applied in hip-hop. While not every story features a twist ending, many that do are often thematically dark in nature. On this topic, it’s hard not to immediately think of one of the genre’s most notorious storytelling tracks, Immortal Technique’s “Dance With The Devil.”
There are many who would comfortably name “Dance With The Devil” as the darkest song ever written. A fair case, and one made all the more potent by way of a macabre — and undeniably powerful — twist ending. For those who have never heard the song, consider this a warning. It will be spoiled. Off the bat, it’s clear that something ominous is afoot. 44 Caliber haunting piano-driven instrumental is equivalent to black clouds floating. As Immortal Technique begins recounting his cautionary tale, the focal character of Billy Jacobs is introduced. A simple young man, though Technique spends the majority of the tracks’ early moments in bringing him to life. His mother was a fiend, his father absent. A desire for money, power, and respect. “The product of a ghetto-bred capitalistic mental,” as Technique eloquently puts it. It’s important to note that he takes his time in letting the story unfold, with the song clocking in at nearly seven minutes. Despite the constant barrage of detail, it remains a slow-burner and thus all the more effective at building tension.

The twist is well known. In an attempt to validate himself to his fellow gangbangers, Billy Jacobs engages in the violent gang-rape of a woman, her face covered by her shirt. After participating in the act, Billy pulls back the shirt to discover the brutalized face of his own mother. The gut-punch is brilliantly conveyed by Technique, who summarizes the fallout in four powerful bars. “Cryin’ out to the sky, cause he was lonely and scared, but only the Devil responded, ’cause God wasn’t there,” he raps. “And right then he knew what it was to be empty and cold, and so he jumped off the roof and died with no soul.” A devastating ending made all the more effective through the twist — after all, it’s what has haunted over forty-four million listeners for years now. Though the song would likely hold a similar impact with the twist removed, its inclusion clearly elevated “Dance With The Devil” to new levels of notoriety. Rappers have long battled the devil on wax, from DMX’s “Damien” to Eminem’s “My Darling,” yet Immortal Technique’s chilling rendition used the device of a twist ending to strengthen the potency of his message. Brushing the horror off as the plight of the faceless instead turned to something far more personal, far closer to home.
Themes of family have often been at the center of many works of dark fiction. For Jay-Z, the topic made for one of the most compelling songs of his career, Blueprint 2 highlight “Meet The Parents.” Though deriving its name from a Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro comedic romp, Jay-Z’s tale is anything but. Over a foreboding instrumental from Just Blaze, evocative in its blend of piano and guitar, Jay wastes little time in developing his atmosphere. “Let’s take a trip down memory lane at the cemetery, rain, grey skies, seems at the end of every young black life is this line, damn, him already?” he recites, positioning himself as an omniscient narrator. Like Immortal Technique, Jay-Z takes his time in setting the stage, though his chosen tale features two focal perspectives — that of Isis, the mother, and Mike, the father. At a respectable five-minute runtime, Jay gives himself plenty of room to develop his characters. And in a dexterous turn, he allows himself to leap in and out of linear chronology as he sees fit.

Jon Super/Redferns/Getty Images
In another moment of strong authorial control, Jay shifts focalization to Mike at the halfway point, having already established his character as seen through Isis’ point of view. It doesn’t take long before the foreshadowing begins, and first-time listeners may be so compelled by Jay’s detailed writing that it goes entirely unnoticed. When a third character enters the narrative, a young gangbanger that draws Mike’s attention and ire, a conflict immediately brews. Guns are drawn as the younger man comes to a devastating realization. “There was something in this man’s face he knew he seen before,” raps Jay. “It’s like looking’ in the mirror, seeing himself more mature.” It doesn’t matter — Mike shoots him dead, the inadvertent murderer of his own son. A tragedy in itself, amplified by Jay’s choice to frame the bulk of the tale through Isis. By feeling her pain, we’re given a direct glimpse into the catastrophic fallout of such senseless violence.
There’s an easy parallel to make between this track and “Dance With The Devil.” Like Technique’s Billy, Mike is driven by a desire to thrive in a hostile environment regardless of the pain his actions might inflict. A key distinction between the two that should be noted is the knowledge each man had regarding the consequences of their actions. When Billy participated in the horrible act of violence against his mother, he came to the realization and was moved to act on it. The knowledge of what he had done was enough to drive him to insanity from which death was the only escape.
In Mike’s case, Jay-Z doesn’t allow us that sense of closure. Both Isis’ pain and Mike’s reaction to the murder are left unresolved, open to interpretation. We’re able to glean hints at how Isis might fare, with her relapse and subsequent –though perhaps doomed– search to find balance, romance, and tenuous resolution. In Mike’s case, Jay-Z neglects to follow him after the climactic death, though he does offer a subtle clue toward his ultimate fate. Though spoken in relation to the son, the same principles can apply to the father: “He put his faith in a thirty-eight in his waist, but when you live by the gun, you die by the same fate.” Like Billy, Mike will inevitably end up dead; though not by his own hand, by his own actions all the same.
Rich Brian Summons Denzel Curry, J.I.D, & More For Epic Posse Cut
Rich Brian is trying to make the next "1Train," inviting damn near half the rap game's new generation for the occasion.
As everyone knows, the posse cut is one of the great hip-hop track formats -- this isn't disputable, as the list of fantastic classics simply speaks for itself. Unfortunately, it feels as if this new generation has yet to fully embrace the posse cut as their predecessors once have. That's not to say it's gone altogether extinct, but is it fair to call it endangered? In any case, Rich Brian seems ready and willing to do his part in the preservation efforts, calling upon a variety of his compatriots on Instagram and Twitter.

Scott Dudelson/Getty Images
His premise is simple -- line up an extensive roster to take turns bodying an ever-changing instrumental, one that presumably morphs to suit the talents of each party. "Yo imagine a long ass song with ALL of us going OFF on every verse and it has hella production changes & tempo transitions????" He writes. "Lets do this man fuck."
The initial guestlist calls upon Tyler, The Creator, Joji, Childish Gambino, Chris Travis, Kevin Abstract, JPEGMAFIA, Denzel Curry, J.I.D., IDK, Jaden Smith, Pouya, Buddy, J. Cole, Danny Towers, Higher Brothers, and EarthGang. Declaring his aim to make the next "1Train," he also opens the floor for some heavyweights to slide through if so desired, inviting all the "1Train" veterans (except Yelawolf) for a reunion. Though his aim is likely ambitious beyond reality, you've gotta admire his vision.

Webbie’s manager speaks on the rapper’s fallout with Boosie Badazz and explains why they are no longer as close as they once were.
Boosie Badazz and Webbie were once a driving force in rap, collaborating often and becoming two voices of their cities. Somewhere along the way, they had a falling out and, recently, things are not looking pretty between them.
Just the other day, Boosie and Webbie seemingly had a fight on social media, with Boosie telling fans to not ask him any more questions about the rapper. He claims that he’s cool with Webbie, but things definitely aren’t as they used to be.
Webbie’s manager actually chimed in on the current dynamic of their relationship, echoing that sentiment but pointing out where things started to go wrong.
“Webbie don’t really give a fuck. N***as get in their feelings and take shit out of proportion. Boosie and Webbie, they gon’ always be. It’s like peanut butter and jelly,” he said to The Shade Room. “Boosie went to jail, and Webbie was out here workin’. Webbie’s loyalty will always be Trill Entertainment. That’s what Webbie was talkin’ about. He’s a big person on loyalty. That’s all I know, and the legacy is what he’s talking about. It ain’t about no money. He’s been making money for years. It’s about the legacy.”
Ray Tamarra/Getty ImagesWebbie did not go to visit Boosie Badazz while he was in jail, and that appears to be the root of their current issue. Webbie’s manager, Derrick, also confirmed that the two are not on speaking terms.
“Certain people got people on block from the text messages to the internet,” he said. “So, Webbie just gon’ say what he wanna say. So, he said what he said.”
Despite their current trouble, Webbie’s manager said it’s possible that they team up for the rapper’s upcoming album. So, clearly things aren’t as deep as initially believed.
Ex-WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard Found Dead At 39
Shad Gaspard, a former WWE superstar, went missing several days before he was found dead.
The professional wrestling community just lost a good one, as it has been confirmed that Shad Gaspard, a former WWE superstar, was found dead at the age of 39.
The wrestler went missing this weekend after a trip to Venice Beach with his wife and their 10-year-old son. Some rough waves reportedly hit the beach and, ever since, Shad could not be found. His family had been publicly wishing for his safe return but, unfortunately, it was confirmed that a man matching Shad’s description was found dead this morning.
Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesThe wrestler’s body was reportedly found by a citizen who called the police at 1:30 AM on Wednesday (May 20.) The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that it was the body of the missing star, who stood over 6’6″ and weighed over 240 pounds.
Shad was with his son at the time of the riptide, heroically telling lifeguards to focus on saving the 10-year-old before coming back for him. After returning his son safely, lifeguards were unable to locate Shad.
The 39-year-old was part of the Cryme Time tag team on WWE programming back in the day. He had recently shared a video from the beach with his family, saying how much he loved his life with his wife and son.
Rest in peace, Shad.
Nav Celebrates "Turks" Going Gold
Nav, Gunna, and Travis Scott’s “Turks” has officially gone gold, a testament to the Canadian rapper’s rising status.
It’s fair to say that Nav has come a long way, having recently enjoyed his most successful album thus far in Good Intentions. With his album having debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, it feels as if Nav is finally gaining traction as a commercially ble name. It may very well be off the strength of the album’s lead single “Turks,” which featured two fellow heavy-hitters in Travis Scott and Gunna — the same trio that brought “Yosemite” into the world, one of Astroworld’s standout cuts.

Now, “Turks” has begun forging a legacy of its own. Nav took to Instagram to reveal that the track has officially gone gold, making this one his seventh plaque as a leading artist. “Turks just went gold! Thank u to my fans and the gang,” writes a grateful Nav on his Instagram, drawing praise from his collaborator Gunna in the comment section.
At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before Good Intentions starts climbing closer toward gold certification, though it’s unclear whether it has the legs to hit platinum. In any case, it’s still cool to see the Canadian artist building his collection of hits, and it’s highly likely that “Turks” will not be his last. What do you think — are you still bumping Good Intentions?
