Ahmaud Arbery was allegedly killed in broad daylight a few months ago while jogging through Georgia. Travis and Greg McMichael reportedly thought Arbery was a burglar and they tried to take matters into their own hands. William Bryan was the man who filmed the alleged murder and eventually, he was arrested and brought up on murder charges along with the McMichael's.
Today, there was a probable-cause hearing which was mediated by Magistrate Court Judge Wallace Harrell. The point of this hearing was to see whether or not there was enough evidence to actually bring this case to trial. Today, Judge Harrell decided that all three men will indeed go to trial for alleged murder and that there is enough evidence for prosecutors to make a winning case.
This is a great first step towards justice especially in light of all the protests we have seen this past week. While many of the protests were sparked by the murder of George Floyd, Arbery's story has certainly been at the forefront of everyone's mind. With this latest development in the story, it is clear that people's voices are being heard and that a difference is actually being made.

Ahmaud Arbery’s Shooter Called Him Racial Slur After Firing
A disturbing revelation comes to light as Ahmaud Arbery’s shooter was revealed to have used the N-word after firing his gun.
While it has already been reported that the three men involved in the senseless murder of Ahmaud Arbery — Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael, and William “Roddie” Bryan Jr (who recorded the murder)– are presently facing Judge Wallace E. Harrell in a hearing, further details have come to paint an altogether disturbing picture of the shooting’s aftermath. A Georgia Bureau of Investigation detective took the stand to provide his testimony, and he fielded a question about a particular quote uttered by Travis McMichael, as heard by Bryan Jr.

Prefacing that the quote came from McMichaels and McMichaels alone, the detective elaborates. “Bryan says that after the shooting took place, before police arrival, Arbery was on the ground. He heard Travis McMichael make the statement “fucking n***er.” A somber silence follows as the weight of the violent word sinks in.
Though a final verdict on whether further charges will be pursued has been reached, this latest revelation certainly paints a bleak picture — one in which Travis McMichael, Gregory McMichael, and William Bryan Jr clearly held racial prejudices, with the former openly unafraid to voice the depth of his hatred aloud. A disgusting truth, but one that may play a pivotal role in ensuring that Ahmaud Arbery receives the justice he deserves. Look for further developments on this case to follow, and should you be interested in contributing to Arbery’s memory, there are means of doing so here.

Ahmaud Arbery’s Killers Face Judge In Court Hearing
Ahmaud Arbery’s murderers are currently in the middle of a hearing, awaiting a judge’s decision on whether a murder case can be pursued.
At this moment, Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael, and William “Roddie” Bryan Jr — the men involved in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, a young Black man gunned down during a morning jog — are appearing before Judge Wallace E. Harrell. TMZ reports that the hearing is meant to establish whether there remains enough evidence to move forward with the murder case. While the alleged murderer and his associates will not be physically present, their lawyers will be representing them in Glynn County Magistrate Court in Georgia.

The hearing is being live-streamed, and at the moment of his writing, the court has recently begun to resume following a brief recess. Both McMichaels have already appeared on camera, while Bryan JR. did not; it should be noted that all three parties are currently being held in jail without any bond.
As of now, TMZ confirms that a detective took the stand in opposition to Gregory McMichael’s position that Arbery matched the description of a burglary suspect. The detective maintains that there is no evidence suggesting that Arbery was complicit in burglary of any sort, going so far as to provide details of the McMichaels pursuing Arbery in an elaborate chase.
With a verdict yet to be reached, those curious about the case can tune into the live stream courtesy of TMZ. For those interested in catching up on what has already transpired, PBS has uploaded the hearing onto YouTube — also embedded below.
Ahmaud Arbery Killing Investigated As Hate Crime By Department Of Justice
Ahmaud Arbery was killed while jogging back in February, and after arrests were made recently, the Department of Justice is now investigating whether or not this case is a hate crime.
More information about the Ahmaud Arbery case has been revealed as it’s being reported that the incident is now being investigated as a federal hate crime. Back in February, Ahmaud Arbery was jogging in his Glynn County, Georgia neighborhood when he was chased down by two white men with guns. He was confronted on the road and murdered in the street. For months, his killers, father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael, respectively, went unarrested or charged with any crime. It wasn’t until a graphic video showing the violent incident was leaked to the public that the outcry forced the District Attorney’s office to take the two men—along with William Bryan, the man behind the camera—into custody.

According to CBS News, the Arbery family’s legal team is also looking into why there was a delay in prosecuting the culprits involved. The McMichaels maintain their stance that Ahmaud was a suspect in a string of robberies in the neighborhood, yet, reports have stated that there were no thefts on record. Bryan claims that he was at home when he saw the McMichaels chasing Ahmaud down so he just decided to follow and record what he saw.
The McMichaels have been charged with murder, party to murder, and aggravated assault, while Bryan faces charges of felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Bryan has also stated in interviews that he had nothing to do with the crime and was afraid because he was receiving death threats. He further contended that he was just a witness.
Two DAs have recused themselves from the case after their personal relationships with Gregory McMichael, a former police officer, were called into question. The Department of Justice will investigate the attorneys, as well.
Ahmaud Arbery Case: Man Who Filmed Killing Arrested For Murder
William “Roddie” Bryan has now been arrested in connection with Ahmaud Arbery’s killing.
Ahmaud Arbery’s story has been one of the saddest and most publicized of 2020. Arbery was going for a run in Georgia when all of a sudden, he was allegedly attacked by Travis and Gregory McMichael who shot him in the middle of the street. It is believed that the McMichaels mistook Arbery for a man who had been accused of home invasions in the area. As many already know, the footage of the murder was posted online and now, almost everyone has seen the gruesome event.
According to TMZ, the man who is responsible for the recording, William “Roddie” Bryan, has now been arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment and felony murder. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation decided to charge Bryan as they believe he purposely tried to block Arbery with his vehicle as he tried to flee from the McMichaels.
It remains to be seen what will happen to Bryan although Arbery’s family strongly believes that he was involved with their loved one’s murder. This is one of the more high-profile cases we have seen in a while and we can imagine there will a lengthy and emotional trial ahead.

Ahmaud Arbery Was At Construction Site Because He Was Electrician’s Apprentice
Ahmaud Arbery wasn’t trying to steal anything from the construction site he was spotted at, says the Arbery family’s lawyer, S. Lee Merritt.
More information about Ahmaud Arbery has been revealed as the weeks have progressed. The two men responsible for his murder—father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael, respectively—are currently sitting in jail awaiting the District Attorney’s next move. Meanwhile, S. Lee Merritt, the Arbery family’s attorney, has come forward to discuss the surveillance video that shows Ahmaud checking out a construction site just moments before he was gunned down in the street.

“He has two uncles on his mother’s side who are electricians. He was entering an apprenticeship as an electrician. He had even gone to school and received some college [education] to begin to get his associate’s degree so that he could become an electrician,” Merritt said. “So yeah, it would make sense that he would enter this property that was commonly entered to. It’s a big porta-potty out front. It’s clearly under construction. To our knowledge, no ‘no trespassing’ sign. As you see in the video, he walks around and he looks up. He looks at the wiring, he looks at the walls, he looks at the architecture.”
Those advocating for the release of the McMichaels have argued that, as the father and son have contested, Ahmaud was a robbery suspect. It’s the belief of the McMichaels’ supporters that Ahmaud was at the construction site looking for something to steal, but the 25-year-old’s family claims the video surveillance doesn’t support that theory.
Ahmaud Arbery Harassed By Cops In Newly Released Bodycam Footage From 2017
Ahmaud Arbery had a run-in with Glynn County police officers after he was nearly tased for sitting in his car at a local park.
The circumstances surrounding the violent death of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery continues to baffle the masses. The young, black Georgia resident was reportedly jogging through his neighborhood in Glynn County back in February when he was spotted by father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael, respectively. They grabbed their guns, got into their vehicle, and chased Ahmaud for several minutes before gunning him down in the street.

While this ongoing case continues to unfold, new information has surfaced. Bodycam footage from a Glynn County officer has circulated showing an incident involving Ahmaud Arbery from 2017. Back then, he was reportedly sitting in his vehicle at a local park listening to music when police approached him and asked him to get out. During the encounter, Ahmaud seemed irritated that he was being targeted when he didn’t do anything wrong, so an officer decided to tase him. It didn’t work.
“The same reason that Ahmaud Arbery was killed was the same reason he was stopped in that park: it was the criminalization of blackness itself,” the Arbery family’s attorney S. Lee Merritt stated today (May 19). “They saw a black man alone in the park and they said, ‘You know what, this appears suspicious.’” Watch the video of the 2017 incident below.
Ahmaud Arbery Case: Lindsay McMichael, Relative Of Killers, Shares Death Scene Photo
Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed in February, and now his killers’ sister and daughter, Lindsay McMichael, shared a photo to her Snapchatof him bloodied on the ground.
The Ahmad Arbery killing may have occurred back in February, but it’s picked up steam within the last few weeks. The 25-year-old Georgia resident was jogging when he was followed by father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael—now reportedly for four to five minutes around his neighborhood—before they shot and killed him on the road. The McMichaels argued that Ahmaud was a suspect in neighborhood robberies so they went to make a citizen’s arrest and he resisted, resulting in his death.

For months, the McMichaels weren’t taken into custody because the District Attorney’s office asserted that they were well within the law to make a citizen’s arrest, but after the video of the incident leaked online, things began to change. They’re currently being held without bail in a Georgia jail, and while they’re locked up, their supporters continue to advocate for their release from custody.
Not helping the situation is Lindsay McMichael, Travis’s sister and Gregory’s daughter. She thought it would be a good idea to share a picture to Snapchat showing Ahamud Arbery dead and covered in blood. After being called out, she told The Sun that she didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. “I had no nefarious or malicious intent when I posted that picture,” Lindsay McMichael said. “The thing is I’m a huge fan of true crime — I listen to four or five podcasts a week — I’m constantly watching that sort of thing. It was more of a, ‘Holy s–t, I can’t believe this has happened. It was absolutely poor judgment.”
Meanwhile, the Arbery family has been made aware of the photo and once again are confronted with visuals of his death scene. “The picture Lindsay McMichael posted was very disturbing and very disturbing to the family,” their attorney, S. Lee Merritt, stated. “It actually fits the pattern of the McMichael family engaging in a weird, violent form of voyeurism.”
Ahmaud Arbery Case: Man Who Recorded Video Is Receiving Death Threats
Ahmaud Arbery was gunned down while going for a jog, and now the man who filmed the incident claims he’s scared after receiving death threats.
Back in February, 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed by two strangers as he went for a jog. The two men responsible, father and son duo Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael, weren’t arrested or charged for killing Ahmaud, even though they had no cause to chase him down or argue with him in the first place. Only recently did the video surface and circulate online, causing a public outcry. After celebrities and politicians stepped forward to complain about the lack of justice, the McMichaels were arrested and are currently being held without bond in a Georgia jail.
While there are many unanswered questions about this case, one blaring concern was the identity of the man behind the camera. Someone was following and recording the McMichaels confront Ahmaud as he was minding his business, and the man responsible for the video has come forward. William “Roddie” Bryan hasn’t shared exactly why he was there on the scene that day with a cameraphone rolling, but he’s been making the press rounds on news stations claiming that his life is in danger.
“I had nothing to do with it. I’m trying to get my life back to normal, and it’s been smeared for the last week,” Bryan reportedly told Action News. “I was told I was a witness and I’m not sure what I am, other than receiving a bunch of threats.” He added, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t scared. If that’s what they wanted to do was scare me, they’ve scared me.” Watch another interview with William Bryan below as he speaks with CNN about the case.
Ahmaud Arbery Killers Arrested For Murder Following Public Outcry
Ahmaud Arbery was shot down by a father and son who chased him while he was jogging through his neighborhood.
I may have taken days for the two men responsible for Ahmaud Arbery's murder to be arrested, but it was announced on Thursday (May 7) that they've been taken into custody. Ahmaud Arbery, 25, went for a jog in his small town in Georgia when Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, decided that he was a suspect in burglaries in the area so they would enact a citizen's arrest. The hopped in their trucks, chased Ahmaud down, and shot him in the street. Video footage of the incident was taken and shows the moment Ahmaud was killed.
After the video circulated online, the public outcry was deafening. Celebrities and politicians came forward, calling for the arrest of Gregory and Travis McMichael, as the two men hadn't been charged in connection with any crime. A grand jury was convened and apparently decided that the McMichaels should be held accountable and according to USA Today, they're being held at the Glynn County Jail.
Previously, the D.A. stated that they reviewed the tape and didn't believe that the McMichaels, or their friend who recorded the incident, should be arrested. To the D.A., there was no grounds for arrest or charges. The McMichaels reportedly continue to maintain that they thought Ahmaud Arbery was a burglary suspect.
