Behemoth have been forced to cancel their upcoming show in India amidst safety fears and “threats” from “religious Christian groups”. The show, which was due to take place on March 3, was cancelled following what the band described as “credible threats stemming from religious Christian groups.” Advertisement In a statement on social media, the band explained: “Over the past few weeks, we and our team have received numerous credible threats stemming from religious Christian groups who have been applying pressure to authorities and to the promoter in an effort to stop the show from taking place. “These threats have raised serious concerns regarding the band’s safety and security, including the possibility of arrest or physical danger.” They continued: “We have been in close contact with the local promoter throughout this process. We want to make it clear that this cancellation is not the fault of the promoter, who has acted in good faith at every stage. On that basis, we have made the decision to cancel the show.” The band were also recently forced to cancel shows… Read More →

Chvrches cover The Postal Service’s ‘Such Great Heights’ and Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted To Love’ for ‘Tell Me Lies’ soundtrack

Chvrches have covered of The Postal Service‘s ‘Such Great Heights’ and Robert Palmer‘s ‘Addicted To Love’ for the Tell Me Lies soundtrack. The covers from Lauren Mayberry and co. have been made for the third season of the hit show – which creators recently revealed will be the last. Advertisement In their version of ‘Addicted To Love’, the trio put their own unique spin on Robert Palmer’s 1985 classic, swapping out the high-energy synths for a stripped back piano melody, and substituting the original charismatic vocals for a more melancholic approach. For the cover of ‘Such Great Heights’, Chvrches stay more loyal to the original version, gradually fading in with a thumping beat, before Mayberry’s soaring vocals are introduced and build towards the euphoric chorus. “It was such a treat to get to make music for the season premiere and the season finale of this show,” the singer shared. “Bookending the insanity and the heartbreak of the season three arc was an honour [and] ‘Such Great Heights’ is basically a perfect song, so we were excited and terrified to cover it in equal measure. “The Postal Service is such a special band and their music means a lot to us,”… Read More →

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was found not to have violated any rules following investigation

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was found not to have violated any rules following an investigation by the Federal Communications Commission. It comes after a number of Republican congressmen called for a probe accusing the Puerto Rican star of potentially violating broadcast decency standards despite the fact he censored or omitted his most explicit lyrics from the show. Advertisement In a letter to the FCC chairman Brendan Carr via Consequence, Florida Republican congressman Randy Fine wrote earlier this week, “What Americans witnessed during the Super Bowl halftime show with Bad Bunny was despicable and never should be allowed to be shown on television again… In America, our laws are not suggestions, and no matter what foreign language you speak, you must comply.” Fine specifically cited the line “el perico es blanco” from Bad Bunny’s song “NUEVAYoL,” which is a reference to cocaine. A number of other Republicans made similar complaints. Now according to the New York Post, sources have confirmed that because the songs ‘Tití Me Preguntó’, ‘Monaco’, and ‘Safaera’ were scrubbed of lyrics that normally include references to sex acts and genitalia, the FCC is said to “have shelved any additional scrutiny barring further evidence”. It comes after… Read More →
