The acclaimed soundtrack for High On Life 2 is receiving a comprehensive 4LP vinyl release, offering fans a chance to own the complete score in a physical format. Tobacco, the alias of Black Moth Super Rainbow frontman, has curated a massive 66-track collection that captures the game’s unique, psychedelic atmosphere.
Released earlier this year, High On Life 2 serves as the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 comedic first-person shooter. The game follows the player’s journey as they navigate dangerous alien worlds, battling an intergalactic cartel while managing a chaotic personal life. The score, composed by Tobacco, has been a standout element of the experience, blending experimental electronic textures with the game’s signature irreverent tone.
While a limited one-disc vinyl version was made available during the game’s initial launch in February, it sold out almost immediately. The full 66-song soundtrack, which was released for streaming in April, is now being pressed into a deluxe 4LP set. This edition includes Volume 1 on red and yellow swirl discs, while Volume 2 is pressed on transparent blue with purple swirl discs.
The 4LP set is currently available for pre-order for US fans at a price of $66. While international release details have yet to be confirmed, there is promising news for collectors: a CD version of the soundtrack is expected to be announced in the near future.
The interest in the High On Life 2 soundtrack reflects a broader trend of fans seeking out high-quality physical releases for their favorite game scores. Recently, online communities have been actively debating the merits of various game soundtracks, with titles like Hades, Doom, and Stardew Valley frequently cited as gold standards for the medium.
