Once upon a time, Rich The Kid and Lil Uzi Vert were at odds. Prior to announcing last year that their beef has been put to rest, the artists were going at each other in videos, during live shows, and anywhere they were able to take verbal jabs at one another. Why these two were going so hard remained a mystery, but Adam22 revealed to Vlad TV that it all stemmed from Rich wanting to ink a deal with Uzi.

After Vlad spoke at length about how terrible of an interviewee Rich The Kid is and how his feature was one of the worst-performing of the year “by far,” Adam22 chimed in to add that Rich is a smart guy. “He almost signed Uzi, he signed Famous Dex,” Adam said. Vlad couldn’t believe it. “Yeah, that’s what their beef was about,” Adam added. “It was super early on.”

“Uzi was one of those dudes that Rich was hanging out with and thought was going to sign to him and obviously it would have been his biggest success to date as an A&R,” Adam said. In the end, Uzi signed with Generation Now. “[If he] got him to sign to Rich Forever, that would be unbelievable. He would be beefing with Rich The Kid right now instead of DJ Drama.”

Lil Uzi Vert is bringing his fans into his universe once again for the release of his upcoming album, Eternal Atake. Over the past year and some change, he’s announced his label frustrations which later led him to a management deal with Roc Nation. Even so, the release of Eternal Atake was still up in the air since it was allegedly still up to DJ Drama and DJ Cannon’s Generation Now label to release it.

After sharing the official cover art for the project and confirming that the album would be arriving in a matter of weeks, Uzi came through with a trailer for the upcoming album. The Eternal Atake short film kicks off with Uzi in an office before things start going left. Before you know it, a spacecraft crashes with women dressed in that eerie purple dress that references the Heaven’s Gate mass suicide. At the end of it all, Uzi gets abducted by aliens while we’re left to wonder the fate of Eternal Atake. Ultimately, the short film shows the birth of Uzi’s new alter ego, Baby Pluto that he’s been teasing over the past few days. 

Uzi’s new album is expected to drop in two weeks following a confirmation from the rapper but considering the hold up until now, you probably shouldn’t be holding your breath. 

Oh, what a tangled web DJ Drama has reportedly been out here weaving. The Generation Now CEO has been crafting young artists who have been taking over airwaves, but it’s his personal life that appeared to steal focus on Monday (February 21). Drama got himself entangled in some infidelity scandal after his girlfriend reportedly found out that he’d been creeping around with a social media model named Vanessa Chantal. 

The Shade Room reports that they’ve spoken to Chantal about the altercation and she provided them with screenshots and videos of the exchange. First, Drama’s girlfriend Debakii confronted Chantal on FaceTime where the side chick stated that Drama never said he was in a relationship. If he had, Chantal said she wouldn’t have gotten involved with him because she “has options.”

While Debakii is on the FaceTime call, Drama is in the background. At one point during the call, Drama and Debakii reportedly get into a physical altercation that was captured in the screen-recorded video. Then, Drama texted Chantal to come over to his place because he wanted to apologize to her face to face. He quickly changed his mind, but she showed up anyway.

What ensued was a violent altercation between the two women. Debakii shared on her Instagram Story that the fight wasn’t over Drama at all, but because Chantal had threatened her in the past. Chantal reportedly believes Drama set her up and photos show that she’s covered in injuries, especially to her face. Swipe through below to watch the story unfold.

It was a big moment for Jack Harlow as he made his television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. On Wednesday (February 12), the rapper took to the stage to perform “What’s Poppin,” a song that Fallon called his “jam right now.” The 21-year-old Kentucky-bred emcee took to the stage with a pianist to accompany his look.

Jack Harlow delivered his single “What’s Poppin” just weeks ago, but the track is already being hailed as a reintroduction of the Generation Now rapper. There’s been a bit of s style change for the Harlow as fans await the release of his official debut project. In September 2019, Harlow released his acclaimed Confetti mixtape that kept the rapper’s name buzzing in the streets.

As much as Harlow may be an artist to watch, there’s still a shroud around his persona. He previously told XXL that he’s taking notes on how Travis Scott moves. “Soon I might have to implement that untouchable feeling. That’s what Travis [Scott] got,” he said. “If you really wanna take it there, you gotta have that superhero mystique. Muthaf*ckas are gonna have opinions and they’re not gonna feel the transition at first. I used to never use melodies as much as I do now. You can be what you wanna be, that’s the dopest part. I know I can be what Travis is. Not be Travis, but I was being genuine when I said maybe eventually I wanna evolve into that untouchable figure.
