My Chemical Romance have officially announced an expanded 20th anniversary reissue of their seminal album, The Black Parade. This milestone release, arriving October 23 via Reprise Records, celebrates two decades of the four-times platinum record and includes the original tracklist alongside six previously scattered bonus tracks. To mark the announcement, the band has shared a 2007 live recording of 'The Sharpest Lives' from their intimate performance at the 20-capacity Maxwell venue in Hoboken, which is now available to stream for the first time.

A Deep Dive into the Anniversary Collection

The upcoming collection serves as a comprehensive look back at the era that defined a generation. Among the six bonus tracks are three live recordings from the band’s 2007 Hoboken gig, alongside fan-favourite B-sides. Notably, the release includes the previously unreleased track 'Someone Out There Loves You'.

Reflecting on the legacy of the record, Gerard Way and his bandmates shared their thoughts on the journey: “Twenty years ago, we wrote what would become ‘The Black Parade,’ our third record and the follow up to ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’. At the time, we could never have imagined what the record would mean for the band. All we knew is that we had made something crazy, and something we couldn’t wait to get it out into the world.”

Artistic Reimagining and Physical Formats

To further honor the album's enduring impact, the band commissioned artist James Jean to revisit the world of The Black Parade and create three new pieces of art. The band expressed their gratitude for the collaboration, noting that Jean’s work was essential to the original presentation of the record. The reissue will be available in several physical formats, including a 2LP version, a 1LP hologram vinyl edition, and a limited-edition One Step vinyl package, which is restricted to 7,000 copies and produced using the original analogue master recordings.

My Chemical Romance have officially announced a deluxe edition reissue of their final studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The seminal pop-punk record, which solidified the band’s status as icons of the genre, is scheduled for release on July 10 via Reprise/Warner Records.

The upcoming reissue promises a fresh listening experience, featuring the original album fully remastered alongside reimagined artwork. Most notably, the deluxe package includes nine bonus tracks, marking the first time these recordings will be available on vinyl and across major streaming platforms.

Fans can expect a variety of physical configurations, including 2LP sets available as picture discs, zoetrope editions, and several color vinyl variants, as well as 2CD and cassette formats. Additionally, those attending select dates of the band’s highly anticipated Black Parade tour between July 10 and October 31 will have access to an exclusive BL/ind tour edition vinyl.

To mark the announcement, the band has released the first bonus track: a live recording of ‘Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)’ captured for BBC Radio 1. This news arrives alongside the milestone achievement of the album and its lead singles, ‘SING’ and ‘Na Na Na’, officially reaching platinum certification in the United States.

The band is currently preparing for their extensive 2026 Black Parade tour, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of their landmark album. The tour kicks off at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 30, followed by dates in Glasgow and a three-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium. Following the European leg, the band will embark on a massive North American tour featuring support from an array of acclaimed acts, including Franz Ferdinand, Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World, and The Mars Volta.

When Danger Days was first released, it received critical acclaim for its ambitious sound and narrative depth. As NME noted at the time, the album represented the final stage of the band’s evolution into a world-dominating force, offering a blend of romance, adventure, and high-energy punk spirit that remains influential today.
