Andrew Gillum's self-proclaimed friend, Travis Dyson, who was believed to be experiencing a meth overdose when he was found in a hotel room with the former mayor, is reportedly a gay male escort, according to conservative correspondent, Candace Owens. On Friday evening, news broke that the former mayor of Tallahassee was found inebriated in a hotel room surrounded by a ton of meth, after police responded to a call about someone experiencing a heart attack at the Mondrian South Beach hotel. Upon arrival, the police found Travis Dyson collapsed on the floor, experiencing what is now believed to be a drug overdose. Aldo Mejias, who was also in the room alongside Gillum, told officers that when he arrived at the hotel room earlier that night, Dyson and Gillum were already "under the influence of an unknown substance."

Gillum, who has a wife and three children, has since addressed the situation. "I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends," he explained. "While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines.” However, a few details from Gillum's story aren't adding up, at least to Candace Owens. The political activist is claiming that Dyson, whom Gillum simply referred to as his "friend," happens to be a gay male escort, and had never even heard about the wedding that Gillum was allegedly in town for.
Candace shared an article from Heavy.com, claiming, "Unfortunately for @AndrewGillum, his 'friend' Travis Dyson, has come forth to reveal that he is no friend, but an open male escort. He also claims that he has never heard of the wedding of which Andrew Gillum speaks of. Gillum needs a new alibi." She also shared some photos of Dyson from his social media accounts to further support her alleged claims.
"This is the alleged friend that @AndrewGillum claims he was “helping” after a wedding," she tweeted. "He is an openly gay man, whose public profile has very few photos of him clothed. His sexuality is only relevant bc as I said earlier—police suspected they had disrupted a drug/sex party." While Dyson has not touched on his alleged side hustle, he did tell The Miami New Times that he was in fact unaware of the wedding that Gillum mentioned. "I personally was not celebrating a wedding," he said. "I don't know if [Gillum] was in town for a wedding. He did not mention that."
"Mighty Ducks" Child Star Shaun Weiss Arrested On Charges Of Burglary & Meth
He’s faced a number of struggles in recent years.
In Hollywood, it’s not uncommon to see child actors grow up to be adults who often are in trouble with the law. If they don’t find themselves behind bars, many former child actors deal with emotional or mental issues, or possibly drug or alcohol addictions. Often, it’s all of the above. The thrust into fame at a young age is something children struggle coping with, especially if as they grow older they find it difficult to maintain the level of celebrity they held as a youngster.

Shaun Weiss was a comedic actor in his younger days, picking up roles on The Cosby Show, Boy Meets World, Freaks and Geeks, City Guys, Webster, Charles in Charge, and most notably as Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks series. However, in recent years, the 40-year-old has made headlines for his troubles with law enforcement more than his acting career. In August 2018, he was taken into custody for public intoxication. Four months later, he was arrested for shoplifting.
It was reported on Wednesday (January 29) that Weiss was once again put in jail. On Sunday (January 26), the former actor was arrested in Marysville, California, around 7:00 a.m. on charges of residential burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance. It’s believed that he was high on methamphetamine. According to police, Weiss broke into a garage before shattering the window of the car inside. The owner of the home heard the noise and called police who, upon arrival, found Weiss sitting inside of the vehicle. His bail has reportedly been set at $52,500.
Autopsy Reveals Baby Died From Meth-Laced Breastmilk: Mother Arrested
One’s woman addiction caused her to lose her newborn child & freedom.
After waking up, 36-year-old, Ashlee Rans, reached out to emergency services when she noticed that her two-month-old daughter, Neveah, was cold to the touch and bleeding from the nose. Rans told the Marshall County, Indiana local authorities that her daughter’s death might be a result of her rolling over onto the infant while the two were sleeping.

An autopsy was performed the following day after Neveah was pronounced dead but evidence of airflow blockage or physically damaged organs was not found. A much more damning and tragic conclusion was discovered when the coroner report revealed that the child had lethal amounts of amphetamine and methamphetamine in her system, according to reports obtained by WNDU.
On Jan. 14, Rans was arrested on two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Marshall County Chief Deputy Prosecutor, Tami Napier said in a statement regarding the tragedy:
“The cause and manner of death were determined by the forensic pathologist, and he determined the infant died of acute methamphetamine intoxication, and the manner of death was a homicide.”
According to the affidavit the mother, Ashlee Rans signed, she admitted to smoking marijuana and knowing that there was a possibility of transferring the drug to her child through breastfeeding. It wasn’t until the autopsy revealed the child’s overdose that Rans confessed to using meth at a gas station two days prior to Neveah’s death.
Ashlee Rans’ initial trial date has yet to be revealed but the former-mother is currently in custody at the Marshall County Jail in Indiana facing between 20 and 40 years in prison if convicted on the charges of neglect resulting in death.
While some mothers are willing to do anything for their children, some are arguably less deserving of the miracles they bring into the world. Prayers and condolences to all of those affected by Neveah’s early departure.
