In 2020, Big Sean is slated to deliver his fifth studio album which is rumored to drop sometime this month. The Detroit rapper has been sharing bits about his forthcoming project for months, especially following the life-transformation that has him feeling as if he’s creating the best music of his career.

“When you have the mentality that you gotta stay hungry, gotta stay on people’s necks, gotta stay hot and all of that, you kinda neglect yourself a little bit,” the rapper recently told Angie Martinez. “I did that for like, years and years and years and years and then all of a sudden it really started catching up with me and I realized, man, I can’t even deliver my best if I’m not nowhere close to my best. So, I just needed to take some time for myself.”

In a reflective New Year’s post, Big Sean shared that 2020 is about to be a crazy year. “Thank u for a decade that changed my life,” he began. “Through the the ups n downs I managed to do the impossible where I’m from n became one of the top selling hip hop artists of the decade, 52 million records sold n counting, ain’t even dropped no project in the last couple years. Like I said on my 1st album ‘never made da crowds fans, I made them all fam’. N I apologize for the distance n lack of communication but life is life. 2020 we back goin hard tho, f*ck all dat otha sh*t ??.” Are you ready for the Sean Don takeover?

6LACK Teases New Album Coming Out This Year

6LACK is wasting no time in establishing his presence.

Has it really gotten so bad that a year without new music feels like an eternity? I digress, this is the age of instant gratification after all. Though we last heard from 6LACK with 2018's East Atlanta Love Letter, his absence was certainly noted last year, despite turning in an impressive collaboration with Jessie Reyez on "Imported Remix." Things were made all the more enticing after J.I.D. began teasing a full-fledged collaborative project with 6LACK, which reportedly sits in a near-completed state.

Clearly,  there's music to be heard. It's only a matter of when. In response, 6LACK took to Twitter to tease his next move, albeit in a cryptic fashion. "New year new album," writes the mysterious singer, neglecting to narrow down his window of specificity. Still, it's good to know his intentions are pure, and it's only a matter of time before the East Atlanta singer (who can rap better than many rappers) begins unveiling his next endeavor.

The xx Confirm They're Working On New Music Heading Into 2020

We’re projecting that 2020 will be a great year for music, as The xx confirm they’re back in the studio!


For fans, there’s no better way to start off the new year than this — “We’ve all been working on new music,” The xx captions the post below, “can’t wait to share it with you! Hope you have the best new year!”

Over the years, the 3-piece English indie band have championed a distanced blend of rock, pop and electronic, painting outside genre lines in the best possible ways. Their debut album xx came out in 2009, followed by Coexist in 2012 and I See You in 2017.

Jamie xx also made waves with his own solo record, In Colour, which released in 2015.

Ekali Says He's Dropping 2 Albums In 2020 [DETAILS]

Ekali announced he has not just one, but two albums coming out in 2020.


The producer’s debut album was expected sometime last year, but recently we were filled in on the January 2020 release. As he confirmed in the post below, A World Away is on the very near horizon.

Ekali already released a few singles off the album: “Runaway” with Reo Cragun, “Be Fine” with Wafia, “Back To You” with Kiiara,” and “Hard To Say Goodbye” with Illenium and Chloe Angelides. He also teased a new song with Elohim, “Fairytale,” his favorite song he’s ever made.

As for the second album, Ekali has plans to launch a new side project. It’s expected to be house “with a different twist,” according to the producer.
