Coco Gauff has repeated history as she returned to the Australia Open and issued out a win against Venus Williams just half a year after defeating the older Williams at Wimbledon.
"That was really difficult. She played really well," Gauff said post-match. "[...] I definitely was more confident this time. I think I was used to playing on big courts, so the crowd - I guess the size of the crowd didn't startle me as much as last time. Definitely, a bit more positive coming into this match.''
With her win, Gauff now becomes only the 4th woman in the past 30 years to win 6 or more major matches before turning 16.
Elsewhere in the tournament the favorites of Roger Federer, Noami Osaka, and Serena Williams all come out on top in their respective matches as Osaka took down the Czech Republic's Marie Bouzkova while Williams defeated Russia's Anastasia Potapova. Federer claimed his victory by beating out Steve Johnson of the USA.
Prince Harry Breaks Silence Following Royal Split Announcement
Prince Harry is confident in his decision.
While speaking at a dinner in Central London, hosted by his Sentebale charity, Prince Harry addressed his split from the royal family, marking the first time that he's spoken publicly about the subject he and his wife Meghan Markle announced their decision to do so.
"It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges," revealed the Duke of Sussex. "And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you.”

He went on to confirm that the resolution he and the Duchess sought was to continue to serve the Queen "without public funding." However, the compromise was not met.
“Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible,” he said. “I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am.”
Harry's words arrived just one day after Buckingham Palace officially announced that Harry and Meghan would be losing their royal titles of "His Royal Highness" and "Her Royal Highness."
"I will always have the utmost respect for my grandmother, my commander in chief, and I am incredibly grateful to her and the rest of my family, for the support they have shown Meghan and I over the last few months," Harry added. “I will continue to be the same man who holds his country dear and dedicates his life to supporting the causes, charities and military communities that are so important to me.”
Joaquin Phoenix Pays Tribute To Heath Ledger In SAG Awards Acceptance Speech
Joaquin gives credit where it's due.
Sunday evening, Joaquin Phoenix took home the SAG Award for Best Actor for his role in Joker and as he accepted the prize, the seasoned actor used his platform as an opportunity to honor the other actors hosted in the same category while also paying homage to the Joker before him.
“I’m standing here on the shoulders of my favorite actor, Heath Ledger," he would say to begin his speech.
He went on to highlight the talent of fellow m=nominees such as Leonardo DiCaprio, who was up for his lead role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
"There would always be two other guys that I was up against and we’d always lose to this one kid,” Phoneix reflected. “No actor would ever say his name because it was too much, but every casting director would always whisper, ‘It’s Leonardo' [...] You’ve been an inspiration for over 25 years to me and so many people, Thank you very much."
He moved on by directing his attention to Christian Bale who starred opposite Ledger during his era as Batman. Sunday night, he was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Ford v Ferrari. "You commit to your roles in ways that I can only dream of [...] It’s infuriating. I wish you would, one time, just suck once."
In the end, he would also take the time to congratulate and give proper to relative newcomers found in Adam Driver and Taron Egerton who were both nominated for their roles in Marriage Story and Rocketman, respectively.
"I’ve been watching you the last few years and you’ve been turning in these beautiful, nuanced, incredible, profound performances," he said to Driver. "I’m just so moved by you [...] you should be here.”
He concluded: “Taron [...] you’re so beautiful in this movie and I’m so happy for you, and I can’t wait to see what else you do.”

Watchmen"Better Call Saul’s" Sixth Season Shall Be Its Last
In Saul we trust.
Somehow, someway, Vince Gilligan took Breaking Bad’s beloved Saul Goodman and brought him on a surprisingly emotional, compelling, and Emmy-nominated journey. Now, it would appear the prequel series that is Better Call Saul is coming to an end. The best kind of end, mind you: one that willingly rockets headlong toward its well-mapped conclusion, accepting that all good things must indeed conclude. Deadline reports that AMC has officially renewed the Bob Odenkirk-led series for a sixth and final season.

With season five set to premiere on back-to-back nights of February 23 and February 24, the ten-episode arc will find our hero becoming the dubious yet loveable scumbag he was born to be. Speaking on the journey thus far, showrunner Peter Gould praised the commitment of Sony and AMC. “From Day 1 of Better Call Saul, my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true,” says Gould, at Better Call Saul’s TCA winter press tour. “We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible. Next month we start work on the sixth and final season — we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.”
Look for Better Call Saul to wrap on a high note, if Breaking Bad is any indication of where things might be headed. One has to wonder how many more familiar faces might show up for the ride. Does anyone have love for Better Call Saul?
Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjian Solve A Murder They Didn’t Commit In "The Lovebirds"
Coming to theaters soon.
Issa Rae is always up to something whether it’s an anticipated film or television show and since announcing just yesterday that season four of her HBO series Insecure will be arriving in April, today another trailer for a film with her name on it has arrived. Issa and Kumail Nanjian star in The Lovebirds and play a perfect, in love couple whose life gets turned upside down during a car ride.
Emma McIntyre/Getty ImagesIn the clip below, Jibran and Leilani are seen driving down the street when they accidentally hit a cyclist. Within minutes a man who calls himself a cop takes over the steering wheel and ends up killing the man, leaving them with the car and the police on the way. “Initially they were written for white people which, plot-wise, would have been a different story,” Issa said of the movie. “It’s not a story about race but we wanted to acknowledge our race and the fact that we’re an interracial couple.”
“The aspects I love the most are the rare moments of sweetness between the two leads,” Kumail said of his favorite moments. “They spend so much of the movie bickering that the hints of what they used to be are my favorite.”
The film hits theaters on April 3rd.
The Kansas City Chiefs & San Francisco 49ers Will Face Off At The Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is set.
The Kansas City Chiefs are officially scheduled to play Super Bowl LIV to face off against the San Francisco 49ers, making it the first time in 50 years that the Chiefs will be advancing to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs earned their ticket to Miami by beating out the Tennessee Titans on Sunday for the AFC championship while the 49ers beat out the Green Bay Packers for the NFC championship by a score of 37-20.
Naturally, the 49ers are well-versed in Super Bowl visits, having won 34 of 53 total appearances. Their last stint was in 2012 while their last championship win took place in 1994 in Miami.
In this bout of nostalgia and considering the same red color of both squads, the 49ers will be pushing for the league to allow them to wear the all-white throwback jersey fashioned after their 1994 season throwback jerseys that they wore to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the NFL. According to cornerback Richard Sherman, however, the NFL has not allowed this to take effect yet.
The result of this petition will actualize on February 2nd at the Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium home.
