Last time Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi pursued solo projects, they chose to do it under the Rae Sremmurd umbrella. The brothers' third studio album, SR3MM, consisted of three components: their collaborative effort, Swae Lee's Swaecation and Slim Jxmmi's Jxmtro. Since that project's 2018 release, Rae Sremmurd hasn't put out any music as a duo. However, they did continue to tour as one. For any fans fearful that Rae Sremmurd has disbanded, Swae Lee has a message for you:
"I’m good, Slim Jimmy good. We two different individuals MORE SOLO songs on the way and SremmLife 4 on the way we two different types of artists and that’s gone be respected."
Swae Lee & 2 Chainz Lead The Way For This Week’s "Fire Emoji" Playlist
Our “FIRE EMOJI” playlist has you covered with the best releases of the week.
This week’s edition of “Fire Emoji” is not to be missed. 2 Chainz came through with a new single titled “NO TV,” which sees the rapper pulling off one of the weirder flows he’s performed. He raps “No TV, come see me, I’m flexin’ in 3D, I’m big dawg, I’m peewee, jetski, seaweed” for a wacky, infectious chorus. Things get even stranger by the second verse, when Chainz’s voice gets altered for the second half of each bar into a high pitched robotic sound.

Swae Lee also dropped off a new track this week. “Someone Said,” is the first single from Lee of 2020 and features his immediately recognizable “SICKO MODE” adlib, “someone said.” Lee promised fans he would make a song from the adlib back in 2018 tweeting, “Imma make this a whole song with like verses and all for y’all.” One-year-and-a-half later and the track has found its way to our “Fire Emoji” playlist.
You can find the full playlist, including new tracks from Lil Baby, Burna Boy, G Herbo and more, below.

Swae Lee Shares Release Date For New Song That Flips His "Sicko Mode" Vocals
Swae Lee will drop “Someone Said” on Friday!
A few months after Travis Scott‘s Astroworld dropped in 2018, a fan tweeted that they found Swae Lee’s vocals “Sicko Mode” to be soothing. Even though Swae’s contribution to the track is the mere repetition of the line, “Someone said”, it’s definitely a highlight. After the Rae Sremmurd member saw the compliment, he was inspired and replied that he would “make this a whole song with like verses and all for y’all.” Over a year later, this ingenious idea is finally coming to fruition.
Earlier this week, Swae Lee shared a Triller video of him going bonkers on a tour bus with his new single, “Someone Said”, playing. While Swae’s line in “Sicko Mode” may have initially been considered to be soothing, he has now flipped it into a banger. Social media erupted upon hearing the snippet and demanded that Swae hand it over. This wish is being granted because the rapper just announced that he will release “Someone Said” on Friday (Feb. 28). He also shared the killer cover art for it.
There was a bit of drama surrounding Swae not getting proper credit for his significant addition to “Sicko Mode”. He wasn’t listed as a feature on the song as Drake was. After the music video released, Swae snidely remarked that he was left out of it. Although he later clarified that he’s not stressing about the whole situation, “Someone Said” will now cash in on his brilliant vocal.
