Someone has turned Ed Sheeran into a Lego figure

A sculptor has handcrafted a Lego version of Ed Sheeran.

Ian Last, from Woodbridge, Suffolk, has created a 25cm figure of the singer-songwriter complete with a kit of his beloved Ipswich Town and tattoos. You can view it below.

He got to work on the figure, making use of an old product called Lego Original – a wooden figure that buyers could paint themsleves, reports BBC News.

Last spent a day handpainting the figure and sculpted it from a product called Super Sculpt, which was then fired in an oven.

“There was a lot of sanding because it’s a wooden character and there is a little bit of grain in it,” Last said.

“Being a perfectionist, I don’t really want that grain to show through because Lego is by its nature a very sharp coloured plastic. I spent almost a whole day just priming and sanding it… so it was probably a couple days’ worth of work.”

It has since been displayed in the the W Gallery in Woodbridge and Last is keen to show it to Sheeran himself.

The singer-songwriter has been a lifelong fan of Ipswich Town and he recently purchased a minority stake in the club amounting 1.4 per cent according to a statement. Sheeran has also sponsored the Men’s and Women’s teams since 2021.

Elsewhere, Sheeran and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin recently performed a surprise acoustic set together at Global Citizen Festival in New York.

The pair performed four acoustic songs, taking turns to play Sheeran’s and Coldplay’s biggest hits. They kicked off the set with Sheeran on lead vocals for a rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Yellow’, before they transitioned into a duet for Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’.
